They do that FOR A LIVING, and we PAY THEM for what they do. You must therefore use your HEAD not your EMOTION to ASSESS THEIR PERFORMANCE. That is the ONLY WAY you can give them A FAIR ASSESSMENT. When they do a GOOD JOB you RETAIN them, when they don't, you KICK THEM OUT. If they COMMIT any CRIME whiles in OFFICE, you PROSECUTE THEM to serve as DETERRENT for others. This is the only way our country can move forward. Remember also that MEMBERS of PARLIAMENT are accountable to you, the people who put them there. The Honorable Mayor could not have been at each administrative center or behind each table to ensure that Permits granted for buildings and structures across the city were blemishless. There is a broken chain of trust between Leadership and the people. We are the people. We create the problems for ourselves. We give and take bribes, falsify accounts, lie to ourselves, fail to inspect or do the proper things. It is a culture of permissive guilt.

We must first fight against that culture otherwise we will continue to cast blames at wrong ends.

Did the NPP call for the sacking of the interior minister when he negligently caused the death of over 200 Ghanaians at the Accra Sports Stadium, from which Jake and Kufour latter made huge sums of money? Until the minority and indeed, the rulling government see national issues in non partisan point of view, Ghana will continue in this way. What was bad yesterday, is still bad today. It is as though there is no opposition in this country. What a bunch of incompetent chaff!

The point here is, the majority of the members of parliament do not understand the magnitude of the shame and embarrassment this failed Mayor has brought to the national capital, Accra, as most of them sitting in Parliament today, just came to Accra and do not knew how the city was like, thanks to our democracy and cheap politics where "anything" is elected to parliament, today.

I went to central Accra, particualarly to the Tudu area with my son who had paid visit from London to help him catch up transport for Aflao in the morning and my God, the whole place was as filth that no word found in the dictionary is better to describe the filthy scene. The smell of the open rubbish gutters that first greets you, nearly made my boy threw out.

The state transport yard, the PWD yard, the main roads, the gutters, scattered smoked fish sellers occupied the main road and the uncontrolled human traffic, absolute lawlessness, nuisance of show of a country with chaotic security the total environmental pollution at central Accra today is just enough to shame the entire country.

I pray the President leaves his comfort zone and just take a walk one early morning in central Accra to understand why people are calling for the dismissal of his choice of a Mayor who has become a power unto himself.

Accra as the nation's capital today is a huge shame with Vanderpuye retention as the Mayor.

I strongly believe somebody like the old strong man Salifu Amankwa would have done far better.

The buck stops at the mayor's office and the responsibility for the unfortunate but preventable disasters must be borne by none other than Alfred Oko Vanderpuije. He failed to dot the i's and cross the t's after the 2012 Melcom disaster and the least punishment for this gross inefficiency and criminal negligence again in the short span of 2 years is the loss of his mayor's job. After all the mayor's job isn't anybody's bona fide property and efficiency and the ability to turn Accra into a befitting national capital should be the only consideration for the mayor to hold on to his job. In Ghana the practice has always been firing people for the wrong reason. Let's begin firing people from their jobs for the right reasons this time and we will begin to record marked improvements in performance levels that will move the nation forward. Again the culture of resignations is ominously absent in Ghana otherwise any responsible leader would have immediately resigned from his job after 2 disasters following after the heels of each other. Doesn't Alfred Oko Vanderpuije feel any sense of responsibility and shame? Ghana paa!

How many NPP members including the so called gurus and the MPS had supported the mayor in all his endeavours to clean the capital through the implementation of the AMA bylaws.

Is it not accusation that followed him daily simply because none of you wanted him to help keep Accra clean because of your tribal sentiments that you wish Accra should be filthy so that your hidden agenda of saying the capital should be moved from Accra would look more real.

Shame unto you NPP minority MPS, if today a foolish NPP MP of Okaikoi Central, Boamah could master courage to ask for the sacking of a mayor who is not supported by your party in any good move he initiates.

Your name is Boamah which is not a Ga name but you have been allowed by the Gas to stand as a candidate of Accra constituency. Do you think the way you Ashantis practise tribalism, you could allow a Ga candidate to stand as a candidate in any of the constituencies in the Ashanti region?

We the people of the Ga state have been watching your tribal games that you have been playing in Ghana politics, but the time will come when that your mentality of greediness and selfishness will be questioned if you do not change.

A word to a wise is enough therefore if you want to live in peace with the Ga people then do things the normal way inorder to live in togetherness peacefully. If you had been supporting the mayor, he could have been more better than what we all see.

When the maisons fail to use the required bags of cement to do the work, is it the work of the mayor?. Have not those maisons cheated you before if you had built a house before.

Do not talk like you are from the bush and therefore the innocent mayor and his officials should rather face the law so that those crooked maisons could be free. Boamah, your political and tribal bigotry should be taken out of this context.
