Nobody can hide the light and true destiny of the great nation of Akan. they use all kinds of schemes and tricks to undermine or deny a proper standard to us but we shall never surrender. we shall change and adapt as like the Israelis we are the chosen people of God and he in his great design has made us diverse but unified in spirit. the ashantis like the tribe of Judah are and will remain an integral part of our being to to attack any one part we all end up feeling it sooner or later. they have succeed in turning some of our chiefs and kings against us and work for their evil ungodly agenda but we still see clearly . God has brought us into the 21st century and with that a new system of governance and state of mind based on democracy since it is HE alone who blesses the individuals with the gift of leadership wisdom and justice irrespective of status at birth. he has shown us the blue print of the way forward in the bible and other holy books and the time has come to free ourselves from this man made bondage called Ghana. just as in the Ukraine we must fight so the truth will come out , fear not the battle as they will crumble like the walls of Jericho . cast away our so called fake leaders and politicians who are nothing but cowards and like our enemies fear even their own shadows . yes God has put a million fears in their empty bodies as he who does not fear the Lord , the Lord will ensure all fears of the world will reside in him. They threaten us with superstition , juju and what have you and we say fuck you and go to hell as the divine power is with us . Yes all the tribes of Akan are fingers on the same hands and God has ordained we remain united so our strength and light will be visible throughout the whole world and universe , our time has come . everyday its becoming clearer and clearer to all children of Akan that we must prepare mentally for a battle of freedom . they come with tricks that say we must take a non Akan as our leader because its nice ? do they not think that out of 30 million Akans we can not find sensible down to earth leaders and warriors to lead our own people to our own destiny? a govt of the people and by the people is what the 21st century democracy is all about . let them continue to play with the consensus and other figures that justify their fantasy and enable them to marginalize the participation of the Akan majority in the Affairs of their own land , to marginalize us thus preventing us to afford a better standard for our people . The had of God has given them pestilence after pestilence but they refuse to let our people go , soon they will be swept away like chaff in the hurricane of fury . Long live the republic of Akan and don't you forget it as now the Fanti speakers, Twi speakers, Ashantis and other tribes of Akan are now one .

As Gallup reports, "32 percent of Americans are nonreligious, based on their statement that religion is not an important part of their daily life and that they seldom or never attend religious services."

About a third of Americans now report that they seldom or never go to a religious house of worship. That's a huge number of people avoiding church-going. But keep in mind, this poll does say that 68 percent of Americans claim that they do occasionally attend services. How valid is that figure? Actually, even fewer people are real church-goers.

I do not completely agree with Dr Otabil Mensah in this precarious state of Ghanas economy which needs a man of vision to lead the forward match for recovery of the status quo without prayer.As much as I do not subscribe to all day long prayer without work which is not feasible so as I donot completely agree with him that prayer cannot work at all in any situation.I would have been happy,if he had said the people who were making all nights prayer should re-direct their prayer topic to ask God TO change the minds of may be,corruption pepetrated by some members of the rulling party and focus on how the tables can be turn arround to favour Ghana.The Bible whether you believe or not can be a guide to lead us to a succssful life,I have read when Illijah profesized to the King of samaria that to-morrow BY this time; food items that were sold at high rocketed prices would be sold at rock bottom prices which came to pass thru,the 3lepross:Was this miracle a joke.There were 5000 people who had followed Jesus christ to the desert without thinking OF WHAT they will eat but it came to a time when they needed food to eat and when Jesus christ realised it he took the few loaves of bread and two pieces of fishes own by that young boy and multiplied it and gave it to his desciples and shared it amongst them which they eat and the left overs after gathering them together filled 12 containers and charged the desciples to see to it that none of it got lost. There were time the whole NATION of Israel were practicing what was known as THEOCRACY; they depended on God for everything and also it was GOD who chose their LEADERS for them. If you are going to apply that quotation to your situation, make sure it fits logically into your situation and makes sense.

We are not practicing any THEOCRACY in Ghana but rather DEMOCRACY. Our leader was not chosen by God, in spite of what you believe. When the Nation of Israel decided to choose their own leader, he removed his hand from them and they went their ways. In Ghana, we choose our leader and sooner than later, a MUSLIM could become our leader. I hope when (see, I did not use if, because I know it will happen) happens, you will keep on using your Bible to interpret what is happening in Ghana while the President use his KORAN to run the affairs.

America is allowing homosexuals to marry. They have allowed women to have abortions. Yet, they are prospering, so tell me why that quote is not affecting that Nation or UK but only African countries. The truth lies in what OTABIL said- they have planned for more 300 years ahead and that is why they don't even want to tap into their Natural resources. Without prayer no economy will work. Its thru prayers that is why he is misleading people. He prayed to God for evil and God is paying him back. When a church leader dont believe in his church and God, he turns evil and mislead people.
We go to church to pray for our country and its people. God been so wicked would ask our prayers. God is very kind and will always give if you ask.
There is nothing wrong with ghana economy. If people want imported food and foreign goods we dont produce, it doesnt mean the economy is not good.
Governments dont import food to super markets, government dont do that. We import with our dollars and give the goods to private companies to sell and keep the money. They dont even pay taxes.
Why is government importing rice when one private company can do that.
Otabil is evil, misleading and confused. He has nothing to do with NPP, NPP dont have fools like Otabil in our party. He need mental health checkup. How can a church leader say there is no God. What is the job of God? To give is what we call God. Any God who would give when asked is not God.

One thing is very certain: GOD has made available to mankind every attribute that mankind need to work hard so that mankind life situation ie economy becomes better. In order words: GOD has already given us every 'tool' (incliding life, health, intelligence...) that we need to make our lifes and economy better. It is left to us to make it or mar it.

To see this clearly: consider China (with less than 1% Christians), Japanese (allmost all Chanting- Buddhists), Russians (almost all atheists), yet all these countries have developed, with China being 2nd onyl to USA in world econoy and Russia being the 3rd. Japan has dominated the entire electronics business etc.

Do you think these countries just folded their hands, attended church services all the time and expected God to perform miracles?

I do not think so: Even though people of those countries do not 'PRAY' in the christian sense, they used the tools provided by GOD and developed.

The problem in my opinion is that some of our leaders in the realms of our national affairs are letting us down with GREED, CORRUPTION, LIES, DISHONESTY, PRIDE and all kind of social vices, while they continue to "preach" virtues! I personally believe in the philosophy of "ora et labora" (pray and labor). God guides us in prayer, to work hard and be honest in all our undertakings.

When the Church in Acts of the Apostles 12 prayed for Peter, God sent an intervention through an Angel to save Peter. If Mensah Otabil had been with the Church at that time, I am sure his advice to the church would be to stop praying and go and break jail with arms to save Peter. His argument would have been nobody is rescued from prison through prayers.

Pastors solve spiritual problems.

Each one is paid based on the kind of problem(job,work)he performs,does,delivers.

I always hold the believe that Ghana, and for that matter Africa in general will never develop with the mentality that prayers can solve all their problems. Anyone who holds the belief that prayer is the solution to his or her problem has never read and understood the Bible very well. As a country we need to change our way of thinking and mentally and focus on the fundamental things that bring about development. Everything that God created growths. Even a stone does not remain the same forever and ever. Everything has a beginning and giving the right nutrients it needs, that thing can grow and develop unimaginably. What we are lucking in Ghana is that we do not understand the meaning of the whole world and its aspect of change. We do not understand the all the theories and its implications. Japan took 30 years to develop at the time when there was not even a single church in Japan. Development itself is everything including social, cultural, economic, health, education, political, religious and other factors and focusing on prayers alone is not the solution. If we think prayer is the answer then we have a long way to go, and some of us will even die just like the Israelites who died in Egypt before Moses came to their rescue. Even it took 300 years for God to rescue his own people, and how much more you. Do we think those Israelites who died in Egypt did not pray?

The other one is a faith preacher and this one is a motivational speaker. The other one prayed for the recovery of the Ghanaian currency and this one says "prayers won't change Ghana's economy; vision will". Is it a reaction or coincidence? Are they two extremes or imbalance? The other one appears to be a New Age faith practice and this one a Christian humanism.Both raise some fundamental philosophical questions in Christianity. Both failed to philosophize well based on the balanced tenets of the Christian faith. If they did, they would have called for and combined the need for Vision, Prayer, Use of the Brain for Creativity and Planning, Work, Work Ethic, and Divine Grace and Supply. These and others made America become a developed country and a great one. Ghana, too, can do better! Preachers let's be careful. The Press is on us even in our churches to report what we did not think through enough and put the cat before the horse--for the public to critique and judge our messages unnecessarily and mercilessly.

Why is it that you have allowed your hatred for President Mahama and his government to cause you to forget that with God nothing is impossible. Don't you believe that with much intercessory prayers God is able to break those stubborn, selfish, greedy politicians in the opposition who are doing everything within their power to cause the economy to fail so they can blame it on President Mahama? Don't you believe that God is able to touch the hearts of pastors like you to give back substantially some of the wealth you've accumulated to help alleviate the struggles of the public school teachers and doctors? You have to remember that in America as well as the developed countries that you cited in your biased sermon (patronized)to your unsuspecting congregants,the private sectors take up a lot of burden off the shoulder of the government. To suggest that prayers cannot solve Ghana's economy shows the form of godliness you have-the kind that denies God's power. Please read 2Kings chapters 6 & 7. God turned Israels dead economy around in a day because He had a prophet who was apolitical-not on the side of any political party-, who spoke only when God gave him utterance. Elisha was that Prophet. Mensah please quit dabbling too much into things you have no business dabbling in.

This time and the other time, pastor mensah has err. when you remove prayers from nation building, you remove God out of it. and success without God, ends in destruction, shame, death and finally hell. every nation have some kind of God they serve and worship. they pray to their God in all forms of plans and the deity directs them through, thought, vissions and through other peoples specialities. mr. otabil should desist from making statements that is not of God and preach the true gospel. in 2 chronicles 7:14, the bible says if my people who are called by my name will pray, seek my face and forgo their sins, God will come down and heal their land. Ghana is sick of idol worship, occultism, blood shed, immorality and thus the judgement of God is coming slowly upon the nation. prayers are the most important aspect of all religion. the Israelite prayed for years but God one day came and delivered them through the person of. Moses. i read in Ghana web news last week that , otabil says pastors should allow their lady members to wear mini skirt without complaining. who is he standing now? is it God who is against immorality or money?

We need God's intervention; and we can only involve Him through prayers.

I sometimes marveled at such calls. One thing clear to me is that this man Pastor Otabil believes in himself so much and ignores the grace of God in his life. what does 2 Chronicle 7:14 tell us? If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will HEAL their land. Can the land Ghana be healed when we continue in our wicked ways? the pastor should come out with the best policies for development and see what will happen. I try to resit myself from condemning this pastor but I still believe if it was the NPP that is governing this country even with their wicked ways, this pastor will find nothing wrong with the economy.Yes, satan can also promote development but it will not last.
