The GUY from the OTHER TRIBE is NOT YOUR ENEMY; he is also a GHANAIAN. Some BAD POLITICIANS would want you to believe otherwise. DON'T VOTE for such POLITICIANS. We have attended the SAME SCHOOL, worshiped in the SAME CHURCH and even INTER-MARRIED; why would we let some BAD POLITICIANS SOW A SEED OF HATRED among us? It is only in their interest that we fight among ourselves, NOT in our interest. REJECT 'WE AND THEM POLITICS'. RESPECT and EMBRACE EVERY TRIBE. We are STRONGER by so doing. REMEMBER, 'WE ARE ALL INVOLVE IN BUILDING OUR MOTHERLAND. God bless every GHANAIAN, and LONG LIVE GHANA.

BAD AND GOOD LAWS IN GHANA
The first step to nation building is the law. The law decides everything we are, what we do and what we become. Good law make us into a good valuable people while bad laws make us into bad valueless people. Good laws are good because they are made by good people while bad laws are bad because they are made by bad people.
Who then make this law? Do laws make themselves or they are made by human beings? Laws are made by human beings among civilised people. Those who make laws are people believed to understand the aim and aspirations of a people on which laws are made. Law makers take the fear and hopes of the people into consideration, for which laws are made to alliviate the fear and to actualize the hopes.
How do we get good people to make good laws? Every human being live by fear and hope. Since fear are of what we consider to be bad and hope are what we consider to be good, we expect good people to make good laws for us. In a democratic Ghana, good people are those we expect to be truthful and uncorruptable. We have people who stand before us as loyalists who believe in themselves and in our common aspiration. These individuals strive day and night in our constituencies to earn our trust as those worthy of earning the title "Honorables". In short, they earn our trust as very good individuals and capable of making good laws, as the bases for the exchange of our votes.
Good laws are made by people who know and understand the laws in place, and therefore are not only in the position to rectify laws that are inconsistent with their own beliefs but committed to upholding such rectified laws. Good people only weigh the laws against their personal convictions and against the interest of the thousands of individuals they represent. In the case of Ghana, these law makers are expected to be making laws to change the lives of the poor and vulnerable of their constituencies who live below a dollar a day.
On hearing of allegation that our law makers are lobbied with financial/economic items to make laws in the interest of groups other than those they are elected to represent in parliament, one wonder how good these MPs are? Are the laws made by the MPs going to be base in his/her constituency's interest or the interest of the highest bidder? The job of the MP in Ghana is a well paid job, consisting of fix salary and other allowances, than a voluntary job most might people assume. The fat salary of our MPs are paid by the tax payer of Ghana from the Consolidated Fund.
What about the self conviction of the MP as the basis for the laws made? The MP receiving bribe to make and pass laws is influenced by the amount receive from the lobbyist than the conviction of the law maker. Here the dignity and integrity of the law maker is compromised.
Those of us who believe in the rule of law and the need to have the rule of law working in Ghana, do not believe in the rule of bad laws for Ghana. The concerns to an allegation of bribery tagged "lobbying" in our parliament to influence the law making of the Honorables institution, is a big challenge to our ideals. We do not see this as a news flash by which cheap political points are scored. We commend Alban BAGBIN for his bravery in bringing this concern to the public attention, as some of us have had it as a concern with some difficulties in orchestrating it with authority.
In our advocacy for the right of the ECOWAS citizens, the rule of law is very critical and the laws have to be good. Equally, a corruptible national MPs by financial/Economic lobbying, is s serious dent on our appeal to ECOWAS citizens for ECOWAS MPs direct election on universal adult suffrage. The future of democracy remain bleak with bad laws and the rule of law does not work under this circumstance. These are concerns we need to focus on for the rule of law to work

People of GHANA, do not support POLITICAL PARTIES like you would support HEARTS or KOTOKO. Political parties are a GROUP OF PEOPLE who claimed they can MANAGE AFFAIRS of our COUNTRY for us. They do that FOR A LIVING, and we PAY THEM for what they do. You must therefore use your HEAD not your EMOTION to ASSESS THEIR PERFORMANCE. That is the ONLY WAY you can give them A FAIR ASSESSMENT. When they do a GOOD JOB you RETAIN them, when they don't, you KICK THEM OUT. If they COMMIT any CRIME whiles in OFFICE, you PROSECUTE THEM to serve as DETERRENT for others. This is the only way our country can move forward. Remember also that MEMBERS of PARLIAMENT are accountable to you, the people who put them there. MONITOR what they are doing and question them on it when they come back to you for RE-ELECTION. YOU HAVE THE POWER, not them. For those who PROPAGATE TRIBAL DISCRIMINATION, don't vote for them; and tell them in the face that you don't want GHANA DIVIDED. God bless every Ghanaian. Long Live Ghana.

A farmer saw a plane full of politicians crashed near his farm. When the police arrived, they asked the farmer what happened.
Farmer: They crashed near my farm and I buried all of them. One of the policemen
asked with shock, "are you sure they were all dead?"
Farmer: Well, some of them were screaming, "we are still alive, we are still alive." But I didn't believe them. You know these politicians; they can lie..

This is the only issue I have seen/heard MPs from both political isles agreed to disagree with Mr Bagbin. Why? because no MP wants to be seen as corrupt. If Mr Bagbin had mentioned that MPs from a particular political party take bribery, the conversation would have been different. The MPs from the that party would believe/support Mr Bagbin's claim against the other party. For me bribery and lobbying are the same thing with different names. Lobbying in Ghana? give me a break? Who is a true registered lobbyist in Ghana today? If MPs in Ghana can agree on an issue like this (bribery saga) I don't think Ghana would have problem developing.

NDCs do not take bribes; only NPP MPs take bribes to articulate issues for their sponsors, according to Badgin. So it appears you also know something about this bribe taking which Badgin never knew! Come out and tell us more!!
