Dr. Marfo should tell NPP the truth and stop pretending they are going soft on the govt. If a party has a credible alternative policy; they will come hard on the govt. NPP has no plans to win an election.

our so called education free or not is a shame due to the bugga bugga policies of the ndc . the mentality it has created is one of willfulness with no regard for law and order. just look at the fools of legon and their mindset in this matter of tolls , so now everyone who repairs the pot holes in front of his house should now consider setting up tolls to rob his fellow citizens , what a message ? the rule of law is only reserved for some like gen mosquito who has now become the richest man in Ghana due to a court case , but the thousands of businesses that are being collapsed everyday due to corruption and theft can not even dare put their cases in court as the buga buga atubuga clan there will only rubbish their cases. what a sorry state of affairs we can only go back to preparing our revolution and war to get rid of the menace as these lot are determined in the ignorant stupidity to ruin everything . it all started with nkrumah and his president for life bigger than God attitude

I have read the statements purported to have been made by Dr. Marfo. I must say it is one of the most irresponsible and terribly partisan. Why will he say that the opposition is becoming soft and especially those from the Ashanti Region. What is so special about the MPs from the Ashanti Region. Yes one can criticize but criticism is not made for the sake of mere criticism. Again you can glean from the statement of Dr. Marfo that he is one of the kind who will want to see a government always stampeded and made to make mistakes so that his preferred party will come to power.
Let Dr. Marfo be told that unlike in linguistics where you can open your mouth and say anything and then use some weird reasonings to rationalize what you say, in politics and especially in action building issues, one needs to have a very thoughtful alternatives and good knowledge to make credible inputs. I think it would have been better he did not present himself in such a sorry sight. A lecturer with a dictorate degree indeed!!!

There is absolutely nothing irresponsible about Dr Marfo's statement. Efo, you want to talk about partisanship and ethnocentrism? What message did you have for your influential traditional ruler, Togbe Afede when he declared openly that Kuffour, as President, had made Voltarians aliens in their own country? Who the hell is stampeding Prez Mahama to make mistakes? Is he not by his own ineptitude and lack of ideas, failing miserably and making a mockery of governance without anybody having to stampede him? Efo, if anybody has presented himself in a sorry sight, it is rather your sorry self. You may be envious of Dr Marfo's Doctorate Degree, but, please leave him alone to have his say. He certainly did work for his Degree!!

Tribal prejudices of some of these so-called academics! I have always viewed special references to regions as myopic and unnecessary. Are policies & programs supposed to be national in scope or tailored to particular areas? And is this admonition to Ashanti MPs, not a reinforcement of the of the widely held view that the NPP is an Akan Party? I have often heard people like Afenyo Markin,Kwaku Agyemang Manu NPP MPs outside Ashanti Reg]and even Dr. Tony Aidoo[a staunch NDC politician] take the govt to task on several issues;so why the need to call specifically on Ashanti MPs?
If some of these narrow-mineded commentators have no better contributions to enrich our political process, they should keep quiet!

I don't think a stage one pupil will reason on this line. These are the very people who claim they know it a'll.he started the argument very nice but exposed his intention when he went further.my problem with him is the fact that, he singled out mps from Ashanti .Is he trying to infer that, they are the only reasonable mps in opposition or what? Or he wants us to believe that if you are not from Ashanti regiion and you are an npp mp you are regarded a second class member in the npp. How can an educated person talk like this? Is he preaching tribal politics or he sees other npp mps as not being. In pposition .is trying to say only opposition mps from Ashanti speaks sense in parliament.this line of analyses must not be published.most of our so called educated elites are behind the violence in our politics.if a doctor and a head of department can spew out this rubbish what do you expect the illiterate to do when it comes to politics.npp is by the deeds of some sympathisers is becoming a tribal party and not a national one.the issue of yen akanfo in the Npp must be stopped.look at what is happening to Paul Afoko, this statement buttressed the fact that npp is for some tribes and not all tribes in the country .

There ought to be checks and balances in the governance of the country and the minority plays no small role. Some MPs in all their days in parliament have never questioned any action of government either at their constituency level or at the national level.
Throughout the history of Ghana until 1991 the Akyem districts which make up more than half of the population of the Eastern Region of Ghana contributed to more than a third of the country's revenue. This revenue was in the form of diamonds, cocoa, oil palm, other agric products, human resource etc. Data from the minerals commission would confirm this.
However in the President's state of the nation address the President did not indicate in any way that he intends to allot a reasonable proportion of the country's budget to these Akyem districts considering the role they have played over the last hundred years.

The unity of our dear country must not be compromised for any political gain. We must respect every tribe in the country and avoid playing on the minds of those who have not been lucky to have any formal education for our selfish earns. Any politician who is sensible and love GHANA must stop pointing at where TRIBAL POLITICS might have come from, because that will not take us anywhere. Another person will come and point at another direction. The fact is that, today we all know it is not a good thing to do and must be discouraged, rather than use it to our selfish advantage. The unity of our dear nation is more important than the survival of any political grouping. Ghana has been there long before any of these parties (which have a lot of selfish and insincere individuals) were formed. Ghana will be there when they are long gone. Let us sincerely pledge our loyalty to GHANA rather than a political party. How sincere are most of the members of these parties when it comes to stewardship with things of the nation? RESPECT AND EMBRACE EVERY TRIBE. In that lies the STRENGTH of OUR NATION. With that we will DEVELOP, HAVE PEACE and be WEALTHY. LONG LIVE GHANA.

It's high time Ashanti man (Dr.Charles Marfo) learn to know that our political views on nation building does not derives from tribalism and where we stand in politics. Our views may varies, but tribalism was a politics of yesterday. It is true that we need a strong opposition minority law makers in ensuring proper administration of the country and I commend Dr. Charles Marfo for observing how flabby the opposition legislators are becoming these days. But publicly making remarks and laying emphasis on Ashanti MP's is very unfortunately and much disturbing. Dr. Marfo torted his statement with tribalism that seems to be thorning Ghana's politics and disintegrating the bedrock of Ghana's unity and must be discouraged. Minority MP's in the parliament comprises of all minority MP's from all other regions not only Ashanti. It doesn't matter whether Ashanti has the majority MP's in the minority legislators. And they are not to stand for only Ashanti region, but for the interest of the nation. Dr. Charles Marfo started very well on a very good note but frail with tribalistic spasm. Apart from that, Dr. Charles Marfo had a very good argument. God Bless Ghana.
