Bad leadership in Ghana was started by Nkrumah. In fact all our problems started with him. Nkrumah was a dictator and very ambitious. He introduced one party rule in Ghana and made himself life president. He was neither caring, compassionate, visionary, smart nor politically savvy. Most of the things he took credit for had been started by the British, our colonial masters. For instance Tema Motorway was on the drawing board when he took over and Akosombo Dam was not his brainchild. KNUST was established by Asantehene and the British. Surprisingly, most of the things he takes credit for were never initiated by him
Independence, for instance, was sought for by many and achieved under the aegis and cunningness of Kofi Nwiah, trickster and schemer extraordinaire. Well, all along I have been asking how and under what circumstances "Francis Kofi Nwiah" was able to change his name to "Kwame Nkrumah". I know that it is permissible for anybody to change his name anytime he or she wishes but it is strange and beyond comprehension for one to change his birthday from Friday to Saturday ie from Kofi to Kwame. This is what makes me suspicious of Kofi Nwiah or Kwame Nkrumah. He claimed that his date of birth was 21st September 1909. This day according to the 20th century Calendar was a Tuesday!!! So was Nkrumah born on a Tuesday, a Friday or a Saturday? We must find out what he was up to with all these very strange findings. He was indeed cunning and only preyed on the emotions of the Ghanaian masses. It was my wish that the president would set up a committee to investigate before declaring Nkrumah's "unknown" birthday a holiday.
When he took over we had trade surplus running into millions of Pound Sterling but when he was forced out we had a trade deficit of several million pounds sterling!! This was the result of bad governance. He should have been overthrown earlier than 1966. We all saw good governance under K4. To me K4 is the best president Ghana has ever had. Kuffour is the greatest. We thank Kotoka and Afrifa for stoping the dictator in his tracks. Ayekoo Kotoka and Afrifa. The Kotoka Air Port should never be renamed

CHANGE IS IMMINENT!
"There are 31,530,000 seconds in a year, a thousand milliseconds in a second, a million microseconds, and a billion nanoseconds.
The one constant connecting nanoseconds to years is change. The universe, from atom to galaxy, is in a perpetual state of flux.
But we humans don't like change; we fight it, it scares us. So we create the illusion of stasis. We want to believe in a world at rest, the world of right now,
yet our great paradox remains the same. The moment we grasp the now that now is gone. We cling to snapshots, but life is moving pictures, each nanosecond different from the last.
Time forces us to grow, to adapt because every time we blink our eyes the world shifts beneath our feet. Every day, every moment, every nanosecond, the world changes.
Electrons bump into each other and react; people collide and alter each other's paths. Change isn't easy, more often it's wrenching and difficult, but maybe that's a good thing,
because it is change that makes us strong, keeps us resilient, and teaches us to evolve." – Jake Bohm

Nobody can hide the light and true destiny of the great nation of Akan. they use all kinds of schemes and tricks to undermine or deny a proper standard to us but we shall never surrender. we shall change and adapt as like the Israelis we are the chosen people of God and he in his great design has made us diverse but unified in spirit. the ashantis like the tribe of Judah are and will remain an integral part of our being to to attack any one part we all end up feeling it sooner or later. they have succeed in turning some of our chiefs and kings against us and work for their evil ungodly agenda but we still see clearly . God has brought us into the 21st century and with that a new system of governance and state of mind based on democracy since it is HE alone who blesses the individuals with the gift of leadership wisdom and justice irrespective of status at birth. he has shown us the blue print of the way forward in the bible and other holy books and the time has come to free ourselves from this man made bondage called Ghana. just as in the Ukraine we must fight so the truth will come out , fear not the battle as they will crumble like the walls of Jericho . cast away our so called fake leaders and politicians who are nothing but cowards and like our enemies fear even their own shadows . yes God has put a million fears in their empty bodies as he who does not fear the Lord , the Lord will ensure all fears of the world will reside in him. They threaten us with superstition , juju and what have you and we say fuck you and go to hell as the divine power is with us . Yes all the tribes of Akan are fingers on the same hands and God has ordained we remain united so our strength and light will be visible throughout the whole world and universe , our time has come . everyday its becoming clearer and clearer to all children of Akan that we must prepare mentally for a battle of freedom . they come with tricks that say we must take a non Akan as our leader because its nice ? do they not think that out of 30 million Akans we can not find sensible down to earth leaders and warriors to lead our own people to our own destiny? a govt of the people and by the people is what the 21st century democracy is all about . let them continue to play with the consensus and other figures that justify their fantasy and enable them to marginalize the participation of the Akan majority in the Affairs of their own land , to marginalize us thus preventing us to afford a better standard for our people . The had of God has given them pestilence after pestilence but they refuse to let our people go , soon they will be swept away like chaff in the hurricane of fury . Long live the republic of Akan and don't you forget it as now the Fanti speakers, Twi speakers, Ashantis and other tribes of Akan are now one .

Thank you George II, we all need to educate those of us that know and understand what is really going on.
For the last 33 years our education system has been gradually bastardised to where it is today. We have become so mediocre we don't analyse, we don't even try to understand. We take everything that is said to us line, hook and sinker. How is it going to happen differently?
Until we get a President who understands what it means to be educated we are not going anywhere with our education.
The PPP says the nation is loosing more than 3 Billion dollars a year through non conformity of tax collection. Today in Ghana just about a million and a half pay tax, that is about 15% of the taxable population. How does the Government expect to get money to fore fill all these promises when there are about 12 million people working and earning good money not paying tax but enjoying services provided for by just about a million and a half.
How can the Government fore fill these promises when we are paying judgement depth that we don't have to pay due to negligence and self indulgence, ignoring due diligence.
What do we expect to get if we do not know what we are doing or getting into?
Wake up Ghana, it is bad but it can be salvaged. The PPP has got what it takes to turn this our beloved Country around. I attached The PPP 10 point agenda to move Ghana out of PORVERTY.
Create a Just and disciplined society, with a passion for excellence with ten years and with science and technology as the cornerstone, become a higher level middle income country. This will include modernizing agriculture and providing a market to sustain our farmers and fishermen. And how are we going to achieve this?
Improve the Performance of Government by reforming state institutions, make government efficient and raise revenue to be able to pay public servant well to motivate them facilitate the work of the private sector and Ghanaian society in general.
Give power to the People for Development by sponsoring changing the constitution to enable the election of all District Assembly Members and District/Municipal/Metropolitan Chief Executives to ensure local accountability and rapid development. This we will do in one term. This has already be captured in the CRC report, which the ndc is trying to circumvent by nominating 5 to be screened.
Strengthen Parliament to perform its legislative duties effectively. Sponsor changing the Constitution to abolish the provision that allows Ministers of State to also serve as Members of Parliament. We believe that this move will make available for governance a large pool of qualified, experienced Ghanaian talent whose expertise is currently unused and therefore lost to Ghana. This we will aim to complete in one term of office. Concurrent with this objective will be a solid determination to give Parliament the facilities and resources needed to pass good laws and scrutinize the proposals submitted by the Executive effectively.
Provide Quality Education For Every Ghanaian Child. Standardize schools facilities from kindergarten to Senior High School with libraries, toilets, classrooms, kitchen, housing teachers, playground, etc: and Ensure free and compulsory education in public schools from kindergarten to Senior High School (including computer training). We will deploy an “Education Police” to enforce the compulsory aspect of our policy. An integral part of this objective will be an objective to significantly increase vocational training so that all school leavers gain employable skills. This will include a comprehensive sports program to instill discipline and promote better health.
Provide Energy for Industrialization and Rapid Development. Implement solutions with a sense of urgency to meet domestic needs for industry and domestic use and make Ghana a net exporter of power again in four years. To enable us achieve this objective, we will provide tax incentives to enable development of alternative source of fuel and power – bio fuels and solar. We aim to ensure that the contribution from alternative source of energy reaches a minimum of 10% of what we need in a decade. Harness our natural resources (particularly oil and gas) to ensure maximum benefit and prosperity for all Ghanaians.
Provide Better Healthcare and a Cleaner Environment. Ensure a cleaner environment free from preventable diseases like malaria, cholera and guinea worm. Provide affordable and accessible healthcare for all in every region. Ensure emergency care throughout the country to save lives. Our focus will be in the area of prevention where education is the key.
Attack Crime, The Drug Trade and Corruption. Attack crime, the drug trade and corruption aggressively using leadership by example, being modest in government, passing and implementing the Right to Information Bill and ensuring an independent prosecutors office exists separate from the Ministry of Justice. Strengthen the Narcotics Control Board to make it the agency responsible for fighting the drug trade with all the human, financial and other resources needed for success. Strengthen the Police Force by providing resource and training to fight crime.
Empower the Diaspora. Establish a Secretariat to cater for the needs of Ghanaians Abroad and the African Diaspora by June 30th 2013. Provide a support system to encourage re-entry, investment, safe and healthy vocations and transfer of knowledge and technology. Ensure full citizenship of Ghanaians Abroad so they can vote and serve in public sector positions.
Create Jobs. Use government’s purchasing power to ensure that we eat what we grow and use what we produce in Ghana. Improve Ghana’s business climate to enable investment in job creation so that our people will stay at home to help develop the country and its economy. We will be relentless in providing support to Ghanaian industry and our farmers and fishermen using low interest loans, technical assistance, tax incentives and priority access to the Ghanaian market. To accelerate job creation nationally, an inter-region highway will be built with the same high quality throughout the country to open up the country for investment and development.
Awake Ghana and Vote the PPP to bring about Change, PROSPERITY IN PEACE.

I think Ghana should strength our rule of law and it's applicability and relieve the govt from being the sole distribution of the national cake.Change the attitude of 'govt' monopoly; but let the govt supervise the funding and distribution of the national cake.Employ more criminal investigators who must be free from govt dictates like the FBI.This will help check the rogues and thieves in the govt entities!

Most Ghanaians are like a girl who is being "words" by her new boy friend. The boy will say whatever to get the legs open them to "hell with you". How many times has the president said that Ghanaians have short memories? How long is the president going to put monies into peoples pocket? Is the entire population on "welfare"? The idea of creating jobs is not there so, the best this useless government can do is to keep doling out money to the fools who cannot reason that such gestures cannot continue for ever.
Their stupid supporters will descend heavily on this man and insult him as that is their signature tune. There is no way to put the destiny of a nation into the hands of "truants, vagabonds, scavengers etc because these elements are nothing but scumbags whose brain contain nothing but dirt meaning, they cannot reason.
Who in this government has the sense to think, analyze and come out with something that makes sense other than hopping from radio station to propagate lies? When it comes to commonsense, no one in NDC has else, who is his/her right mind will fault "dwarfs" for the falling value of the national currency? Since Anita made those foolish remarks, another portfolio has been added to what she already has because to Mahama, she make a lot of sense.
These are some of the reasons NPP will never choose "anybody" to lead the party. We need people who understand the dynamics of how to govern. Some people love to see Ghana rotating the leadership of the nation simple because they think and see Ghanaians like "laboratory animals" who should be used for experimental purposes.

Richard Amoako Baah is a mealy-mouth partisan hack who takes immense delight in ridiculing everything that the President says.....he seems to me to be obsess with Mahama and in doing so, he Amoako demonstrates a stunning lack of knowledge about basic economics.......what he always forgets to insert in his lengthy tirades is the fact that no economy in the world can enjoy endless growth and prosperity without slumping....this is basic economic history and the Head of the Political Science Dept at KNUST does not know that? He should check the biggest economies in the world and he will discover that there have been periods of growth, recession, growth again and recession again.....no national economy can escape this reality.....Ghana's economy is no exception...we have had our period of prosperity and growth....and this is a time when the economy is bound, due to external and internal factors, to slow down..our current slow growth is but temporary.....
And Amoako goes on to show his disdain for the poor by asserting that the poor don't deserve assistance from the government...this from a guy who should know that the government is obliged to render assistance to the poor by way of social programs..
And the other important things this joker never mentions are the painful facts about our economy.....1)it is not strong, has never been at all...2) we have no strong manufacturing base; all we do is buy and sell 3)our exports are mainly raw materials which garner little in way of foreign exchange..4) our tax system....collection particularly is antiquated....
If the bearded one would only point to these factors as being responsible for the sputtering economy, then he would have earned every right to take potshots at Mahama...until then, he is just one of those fellows nakedly covetous of national attention.....

Unfortunately your response to the assertion that there doesn't seem to be the resources to undertake the propose projects of Mahama in light of current begging priorities which have not been met falls short of cogency. You stated that "the current slump isn't a recession" and that the person pointing to the dearth of resources is "covetous". So you admit there is a "slump" (recession or not),but you did not say how to resolve it, and you provided no resolution to present dire needs. So how do you at the same time fault the Prof who backed his skepticism with live evidence being experienced by Ghanaians. You could be either objective or blindly partisan, the choice is yours. But your pretensions can only appeal to the weak-minded.

The Professor slithers out of his hole and spouts the all-too familiar mantra....Mahama is clueless, inept blah blah...what evidence does he put forth to bolster his criticism which at this point is becoming stale and honestly bordering on absurdity?..that there is this enormous economic strain on Ghanaians? Ghanaians have endured economic hardships for decades under the reigns of both military/civilian administrations....
Mahama's tenure is proving to be no exception....so it galls me endlessly when the likes of your favorite Professor and his ilk play Monday morning quarterbacks, deigning to know everything there is to know in running the affairs of a nation that suffers from gross mismanagement and endemic corruption.......
I hardly share the views of the Professor and his fellow travellers...those virulent critics of Mahama, so I am not obliged to propose solutions. Neither am I a partisan hack. Far from it....
I have been cogent and steadfast in my arguments.....your negative reception of them notwithstanding....
My contention still remains that our economy is weak, has been weak and non-resilient for years.....Mahama did not create this mess;he inherited it and that is the point being missed by his detractors.......

Oh! So you really have nothing to say but out of "gall" for those who dare to challenge the president to do better than citing past economic hardships as reason for Ghanaians to accept their current woes, you are ready to forward lame defences for impractical proposals, and insult eminent persons with pointless long essays, which may incline those who do not know better to fall for sweet worded speech with no solutions. Parties got voted out of office because Ghanaians did not accept the past hardships which you want to rely on to defend abysmal performance. Come on! Be more patriot! The current situations presents the president an opportunity to write his name in history as the one who did better than those before him, or go down as the worst of them all, which he is on course to become unless he changes course. Forget personality or partisan cult tendencies and let the president know he can do better. It is good for him and all of us.
Communism and socialism failed because proponents had "ilk" for dissenting views, just like you. Therefore, communist and socialist policies were neither appraised against reasonable odds nor borne out of best practice pools.
Those who do not agree with us help us to notice what could blindside us into failure.

Prof, I disagree with you and millions of Ghanaians do disagree with you. Fr the first time in the history of this Nation, the Minority Leader acknowledged that our President got it right. And he did in so many respects. The problem with some of you the academics is that, you expected the very big economic English which this President has always not done because that does not solve problems.
Look, the president plan of domestication is the only way we can begin, no matter how modest, to drive towards solving our economic problems. Call it primary economic thinking, but that is the sure way to go. You won't hear the big economic terms to excite you, but wait until the end and see if this won't work the magic. But Prof., stop insulting President. He isn't less intelligent, maybe you should check your anger when you have the opportunity to talk.

Prof. Richard Amoako Baah, I agree with you in to to. John Mahama can best be described as a 'Talk man.' There was no substance in the state of the nation address delivered yesterday. It was mere rhetoric devoid of any economic sense.
What surprised me the most was his inability to tell Ghanaians how he was going to finance the numerous projects that he promised Ghanaians. Most of the projects he enumerated were not reflected in the 2014 budget,
and so how is he going to finance those projects.
In fact, John Mahama is the worst president this country ever manufactured. He does not know anything about economics, and his knowledge about elementary economics is so limited that, he is the biggest security threat to this country.
I think something drastic must be done to remove him from office before it is too late. If you consider the fact that he has two more state of the nation addresses to make before leaving office. The country cannot continue like this until the end of 2016, for the death toll in the country would be too high.
He even bragged that he was a parliamentarian for 12years, and the question is how are Ghanaians benefiting from his experience as ex parliamentarian? Nothing! At best he is only good at reading scripts to an audience.
Surprisingly, members of the NDC saw nothing wrong with his state of the nation address. I can confidently tell Ghanaians that this country will qualify for HIPC before June 2014. This is so because the people we've entrusted the destiny of this country into their hands are ignorant people.
The NDC is not a political party to govern any country on this earth, for it is a real looting brigade, and I can confidently tell you that the rate of looting would be accentuated when the writing is on the wall that they cannot retain power through any foul means again.
Ghanaians must pray very hard for divine intervention to save this country from total collapse.
Prof. you are right, the only economics he understands is corruption and its trappings in the corridors of political power.

Three economists and three mathematicians were going for a trip by train. Before the journey, the mathematicians bought 3 tickets but economists only bought one. The mathematicians were glad their stupid colleagues were going to pay a fine. However, when the conductor was approaching their compartment, all three economists went to the nearest toilet. The conductor, noticing that somebody was in the toilet, knocked on the door. In reply he saw a hand with one ticket. He checked it and the economists saved 2/3 of the ticket price.
The next day, the mathematicians decided to use the same strategy- they bought only one ticket, but economists did not buy tickets at all! When the mathematicians saw the conductor, they hid in the toilet, and when they heard knocking they handed in the ticket. They did not get it back.
Why? The economists took it and went to the other toilet.

Continuing fetching water into a drum with a hole is senseless. We have to plug the hole first please. Lets call a spade a spade. When are we going to retrieve monies that has gone into the wrong hands? People talk about politics instead of Kwame Nkrumah's GHANA. The Government of the day is voted into power to serve a party not the nation, hence demonstrations by party faithfuls that " the DCE/MCE will not serve the interest of the party, we don't want him". Are they appointed to serve the nation or the party? The answer is the latter. God save us.

I've said time without number, that Mahama is a very clueless President, who lacks focus and direction. His State of the Nation Address is completely bogus, deeply confirming my stand, since he assumed office last year. Prof has said it all, he didn't mince words. After reading this article, my heart sincerely goes out for him. I wish we had 10 of his kind in govt, this country wouldn't be suffering and bleeding to death like we see now. Oh! Mother Ghana, it's a pity that we have many evil dwarfs with sharp baby teeth, the likes of Fiifi Kwetey, Alex Ofosu Kwakye, Okudjeto Ablakwa, Collins Dauda, Murtala Mohammed, Omane Boamah, etc etc parading the corridors of power as Ministers of State, led by a blind clueless president. What are we reaping with these crooks, morons, stooges and create-loot-and-share brigade steering the affairs of this nation?Economic hardship, frustration, hopelessness, hunger, high rate of armed robbery, corruption and graft. So the call by Prof for Mahama to resign is spot on, and we add our voice. One good thing about Prof is his fair assessment of the issues at stake, for he neither spared the opposition NPP for saying that the free SHS idea has been stolen by Mahama. He feels if one party brings up an idea, if it's good enough, the other party can take it for our good. These are the kinds of realistic, down-to-earth, levelheaded people we need in society. People whose criticisms, suggestions, etc can help put govt on track. But is he a listening president, he pretends to be. Here is a govt whose communication team is notorious for insulting everybody including respectable Ministers of the Gospel who had sought to lend a word of caution or advice to them. What great honour it would be for Mahama to resign, than continue holding on to power only to fail woefully and miserably to be tagged as the worst performing president that Ghana has ever had. An irreparable damage to his reputation that would be. Someone who can't even reprimand his own ministers who constantly err and bring his govt into disrepute, as if they appointed him into office? Tweeeaaakai!
