I continue to wonder why a whole Armed Forces like GAF would still depend on agents to procure welfare items for their troops. Why cant they set up a Department under the GHQ peacekeeping branch with the sole aim of assisting troops procure those items direct from the manufacturers or suppliers abroad with using these fraudulent Ghanaian companies. I am a victim myself and I know what these soldiers might be going through. The GAF is a well organized body with very efficient structures and expecties that could be tapped and used for the purpose of looking into the welfare of soldiers on Missions. Do not forget that the retired officer or man is a deadly weapon that needs the required attention and not neglect.

You should know, the soldiers are not kids, they are grown ups and can tell what is going on when they put two and two together. They could not appeal to the Military High Command any further because the High Command failed to take action on their plight. So, if they decided to appeal the President who is the Commander In Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces for his help, for you to say that they are being pushed by NPP to behave that way is stupid and unreasonable.

Yet even the trotro dirvier's mate wants to find a way of keeping your change. Market women adulterate foodstuffs. Public officials spend only a few hours a day at work and see nothing wrong with that. Ministers use working time to obtain university degrees and feel happy about it and even celebrate their graduation in Church with white handkerchiefs! etc. etc.

And to crown it all, doctors team up with nurses to steal the baby of an illiterate woman by making he thumbprint that her baby was dead at the time she was yet dizzy from the pangs of childbirth!

The head of the hospital is shamelessly screaming all over the place that the woman has thump printed to confirm that her baby had died.Sadly the moral society who pretend to be loud about human and gender rights are mute because this is a lowly placed individual. What a sad society we have!!!!

It is sad that these things are still heppening in the Force. The High command is fully involved in this disgraceful acts. They connived with these so called Agent to dupe innocent other ranks of their hard earned allowance. Interestingly, no officer has ever had his money stolen by these criminals. Where is Mr Ofori, the popular Ofori Sounds located at Pig Farm? Where is Kludjeson and the rest? The Military High Command went into frudulent agreement with these criminals to dupe sodliers, hundred of thousands of dollars, thus making them rich. Majority of us have left the military some years ago, without recieving the things we have paid for. But those offices involved will live to regret with all of their family members. If these so called Agent have nobody behind them, how could they take soldiers for granted to the extend of duping them of their allowance as with impunity as if it isn´t a death and live operations. How sad! There are many criminals within the Officers´corps with dubious characters. Shame on you, the PRO of the Ghana Armed Forces and those who commissioned such criminals.

It is indeed time for reformation in the army because despite the many experiences they had during the coups, travels, courses and missions outside where they were exposed to contemporary civilized military etiquette they are still clinging to old ways of handling troops. I suggest a metamorphose approach to this menace. After all web train them. we still reserve much tactics as a leading edge but for the discipline we respect and observe with pride. How can I accuse the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Scholarship Secretariat if any of the effects got lost on the way.
I however got some of the items destroyed and some stolen, but I did not blame the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Scholarship Secretariat but the Agency I entrust my documents to. I was send outside Ghana on another scholarship and I entrusted my documents to a state agency which was supposed to take the items to its custody or direct my people how to take custody on the items when they arrived.

Any time you hear that African troops have been sent on a peace mission to another country, you know an African politician somewhere has hit pay dirt. They always find ways to siphon off money into their private accounts, money donated by the West and meant for the poor troops. Do you think African politicians volunteer troops to conflict zones because they love peace? Hell no! It’s another opportunity to make a quick buck. The soldiers on these peace missions only get a tiny fraction of the monies allotted by the West. The African politician’s favorite excuse is, we will use a large portion of the money to revamp the military and police back home. You know that’s a euphemism for diverting the money into his personal account."

No serious military go on duty and still have eyes on things like these. Ghana has never had a serious brave military as thse from Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Cote D'Ivore and even CAR. Any time NDC comes on power soldiers are cheated. 2010 Soldiers who went to Chad were not paid their Leave Allowance. UNIFIL Ghanbatt 21 soldiers $3 which they were to collect in Cedis in Ghana was not paid. Again all the things Ghanbatt 21 ordered (CIF) didn’t come. When the culprit was arrested, whilst in the Guardroom he was able to pregnant his wife and the wife gave birth.

When NDC (Rawlings time) $50,000 which supposed to be given to soldiers who lost their lives whilst on UN duties eluded them. However it was NPP (Kuffour time) beneficiaries of soldiers who lost their lives started enjoying the $50,000 direct from UN.

What is happening to the soldiers hard earned dollars is just the tip of the iceberg. The rot itself could be traced to The Head of the Defence Financial Comptroller (DFC) in the person of Brigadier General Nyamekye-Yeboah. This officer is past the retiring age of 60 years for brigadiers but he is still at post. Why he is being kept whilst most of the senior officers who just before they attain 60 years were made to proceed on terminal leave prior to retirement is something that beats my mind. Is it because some people are benefiting from his dubious deeds that is why he will not be retired?
There should be a forensic audit into the Peacekeeping account and I bet you the revelation will blow everybody’s mind. The Finance officers who administer the dollar account of troops on peacekeeping missions are also part of the stealing syndicate. It is alleged that when they steal the troops money scrupulous accountants at the Defence Financial Comptroller’s outfit find a way of covering up the misdeeds which is known to Brigadier Nyamekye-Yeboah since they all benefit from it.
