People should advise Atik to reduce the amount of dog meat meat he eats. When we met three weeks ago at our popular dog meat joint at Maamobi, Atik Mohammed nearly strangled the bar owner because she sold the head to a Dagarti man. The head is usually reserved for Atik. But sadly because Atik was late in coming the lady sold the dog head to a Dagarti patron. But while he was munching the delicious stuff Atik arrived!

What happened next was horrible. Atik was so furious that he screamed at her and insulted her mercilessly. He reminded her of her bad old days and that if she ever repeated it he would reveal all her secrets. The lady replied that before Atik went into politics she used to sell the dog meat on credit to him. And that Atik used to take months before settling and that he has not even paid all yet. It was that messy.

We hurriedly finished ours and left. I hope Atik developed appetite for thigh which was still available.

I have not been under any illusion because whiles these priests condemn their various governments they have not found the pulpit to condemn the socioeconomic policies that the governments of their principals reside and are parts and parcel of the decision making and at times are referred to as the "international community", policies that are forced on us to swallow hook, line and sinker.
The fact is that whiles these priests of the Abram religions find time to condemn Robert Mugabe, Fidel Castro, Chinese, North Korean and Venezuelan leadership they are quick to remind you that the church is not for politics when you mention the evils and ills coming from the west.
It is a fact that all the religious wars going on in Africa, from Somalia, Sudan, Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, Mali, Central African Republic were imported and imposed on us. Britain had the Orthodox and Protestant war for many years. That type of war was imposed on Yugoslavia, Indonesia and it is no different from the torments that exist in the Islamic world, between Sunnis and Shiids all imposed by NATO intervention. It is a fact that what promoted the torments on Mali, Central African Republic and others are NATO members.

As teachers who decide to stay in inner London are given inner London allowance to encourage workers to stay in London because of its high cost of living, Ghana should introduce similar scheme to naturally and willingly attract teachers and even other workers into the rural areas. The rural -urban disparity in terms of infrastructure success rate and everything is so wide and vast that it is always harder to make people willingly go to the rural areas. This scheme should not be seen as changing the salary structure but rather it should be a named allowance and solely there for the purpose.
The only issue may be the identification and demarcation of rural as opposed to urban. The exercise should be entrusted to a committee to do a feasibility study and come out with a befitting proposal for the government to consider. The Ministry of Education has an obligation to equip schools with personnel.. will the regional and district officers stop taking bribes to change postings? Has the Professor of our education service touched on that issue? She will do all she could, teachers will never end up in the villages but they will be paid. Has she also tackled Doctors who issue medical declaration that teacher B suffers a disease or illness where she needs to be in an urban centre to attend regular hospital appointments, Are we also looking into parents who follow their kids to offices demanding that they stay in cities with them? Oh my God Ghana needs to have stringent rules and regulations to reinforce policies and reforms. I am happy to be on such a committee guys.

Ask yourself, "how are all economies similar to Ghana performing? and the Ghana Cedi to other similar currencies? If Ghana is falling behind, then suggest alternative policies to those being implemented.
