We all saw Kuffour rule for 8 uninterrupted years when we were living in poverty and this shouting was never there, simply because he is an Ashanti. Under Kuffour Ghana was turned into cocaine nation rating number 1 drug country in Africa, Ashanti/Akyem did not shout from roof tops, see what they are doing today as if there is no Ghana any more.

mahama is just a poser with nothing good in his head ,even our archenemy jj is telling him to reshuffle his useless ministers out but forgets the essence of leadership . if the president already doesn't have a plan of development then he cant expect not to be overwhelmed by events . mahama has been plagued by one pestilence of woe after another because of the evil deeds he has committed such as the murder of mills and his proactive tribalism of the northerners. you can not fit 3 pints of water in a pot that only holds a pint , we can not fit the nation of Akan in this confinement called Ghana as the potential is far greater . Ghana limits our diaspora to those who left after 1957 , the nation of Akan recognizes those in Brazil , Caribbean ,USA etc centuries ago as all children of Akan and most welcome home just as the Israelis also are not limited by time . yes even Michelle Obama is a child of the Akan nation like it or not . This cannot be a partisan endeavor. There has to be a sense of urgency about this economic crisis of beloved Ghana.
Mr president and his team has to put forward last march (forceful, step) to design to protect critical sectors of our economy.
What happens here matters to every working Ghanian, right down to the food that you put on your table.
Ghana will soon be asking for aid from the UN.
Mr president, ndc note; Aid, development must converge in responding to crisis. This is going to be very big shame to us. Ghanians are not lazy, we have the man power, and natural properties that build this our nation.
We can succeed only if every man jack of us tries his hardest to help rebuild again the economy. Long live citizens of our beloved land. Long live Ghana.

We'll like to bring PEACE FM'S attention to the situation that is going on in their sister Radio station at GhanaToday HOLLAND. It has been cleared to the listeners of Ghana Today radio , how the presenter Kofi nyarko was rude to the sympathizers of the ruling NDC Gov, on his "wosukabi" program. Kofi nyarko did not end his rudeness, but Kofi organized members from his npp party, especially those who were akan's, they were carefully selected to come on air to dehumanized the rest of the tribes here in Ghana on his radio show. We the listeners here in Ghana can confirm to the PEACE FM management that the home grown npp terrorist who is now residing in Holland kofi nyarko, has done the same thing he was used to on Monday the 10th of February, when one of his regular caller named Joe Canada ,the sympathizer of the ruling NDC Gov. We heard this gentleman who called the program to refute to the comments one of the caller who is also a sympathizer of the opposition party the npp. The npp man called the program and run insults and accused the people from the Volta Region for the hardships the country is currently facing, he said according to him, he didn't understand why the Ewe's should elect somebody like Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa as their MP , he asked? He went on by saying the Ewe's gives their Votes to anything in front of them, even animals. This uncalled-for words goes down well for the host Kofi nyarko which he congratulated the frustrated npp caller. When the sympathizer to the ruling NDC Gov, Joe Canada, also call the program to refute the unfortunate comments from the npp caller, kofi nyarko who can't hide his affection support for the opposition p npp party ,quickly jumped to defend the npp caller. Kofi nyarko gave his strong warning to the NDC caller not to dare call his radio programs to contribute again, he went on to said , he won't even pick up his call anytime he sees he Joe Canada's number on his phone. These ugly situations compelled some of us to send a strong warning to PEACE FM management, to urgently arrest this situation before its get out of hands. We believed kofi nyarko is trying hard to sow a tribal seeds between us here in GHANA and abroad. The management of PEACE FM must know that kofi nyarko who was placed on npp pay roll to tarnish the ruling NDC Gov, and his division tactics by playing a tribal cards is dangerous to our society and our young democracy here in GHANA We are looking forward to see the management of PEACE FM to call un-erected host kofi nyarko to immediate order before we hit the street of Accra.

A project which will cost lets say 20million Cedis, will be hyped to 70million because of corruption,then in the end the project will be abandoned for lack of funds,after the one in charge has taken his/her shares.

We should be patient to give time for the fine tuning of the economy by BoG before being negative about things. I am sure that your advise is being welcomed as the same time too, it does not help to be quite about the state of the economy by President. It is not propaganda to state what is affecting the cedi. I don't know which global economy you live in not realize that there is a global trend going on....

Some of you cannot accept the fact that Mahama and his party have failed. At times, they blame the election petition but when the petition was going on, they were busily paying judgment debts to the phony companies they help their cronies set up. NDC will be in office for a thousand years and they will never stop holding NPP responsible for the poor performance.

NPP put Ghana in HIPC. Our debts was forgiven by the IMF and World bank to a tune of 4 billion dollars. During that time period one of the agreement just to mention one, was the regime to provides clean drinking water to its citizens. NPP never achieved that goal instead all the monies was shared among the Kufour and family members. The Kufour family is the richest in Ghana today. The Kufour administration was a world class beggar for funds- always on the plane flying somewhere looking for free funds. unfortunately, those funds never reached the ordinary Ghanaian.

Its 2014 and the Mahama administration has to spend 740 million dollars to make sure Ghanaians get clean water.

The Mahama administration (NDC) can attest that they have improved infrastructure in Ghana: The completion of the Bui Dam, Kpong and refitted the Akosombo Dam..to steer Ghana onto an industrialized country with adequate electricity. The government is a mixture of all ethnicity not just Kufour family members and Asantes.

Ghana is still a young country growing. It is true that we have not developed to the extend of producing our own goods yet but it is fact that every advance country had to go thru. We have to stick together as one nation ejecting good ideas to get there. Negativity will divide and destroy us.You have to think beyond party and tribal lines to make a better place for our kids.

I disagree with Dr Thompson that the cause of the Cedi depreciation is mainly international. It is not.
The cause of the depreciation of the cedi is domestic inflation. Ghana spent too much on the election and the wage bill. Ghana then issued a lot of debt in dollars to be paid back in dollars. What is happening is expected because of the actions of the Ghana government and the bank of Ghana. There is no need to try to turn it into "a global phenomenon" Please consider the 2 points below.

1] Internationally the dollar is strengthening against some currencies other than the Cedi so one could argue that the cause of the rapid depreciation of the Cedi is external and not internal. However a counter argument is that the Cedi is losing ground against several currencies including the CFA, the Euro and British Pound. Further currencies like the Naira are not losing much ground against the dollar in the same time period according to data from the CBN.

2] It is true that cocoa and gold prices did lose some ground but that has happened before without such a drastic effect on the Cedi. Further recently gold prices actually seem to pick up again so we do put much stock into falling gold prices causing the Cedi to fall though it is certainly an important factor.
I think the good Dr should admit that the recent depreciation is more severe than in the past and to say its not is to be economical with the truth.
