FOREIGN COMPANIES NOW UNDERSTAND THE PERCH OF PhD IN AFRICA, ESPECIALLY GHANA, THE CARROTS THESE PHONY PhD'S NEED, AND THE RESULTING ECONOMIC AND POLITICAL RETURNS. SO THEY, THE NEWMONT'S, ANGLOGOLD'S, ASHANTIGOLD'S ETC. CONTINUE TO SPONSOR AND BRIBE THESE SABOTEURS TO PILLAGE OUR RESOURCES, LEAVING ALMOST NOTHING FOR THE LOCAL OR NATIONAL COFFERS.

WHERE IN THE WORLD EXCEPT IN AFRICA OR GHANA, WOULD YOU FIND A COMPANY RAKING IN OVER 800% RETURN ON INVESTMENT, YEAR AFTER YEAR, AND STILL BLACKMAIL, AIDED BY THE NATIONAL OVERSEER, THE HOST GOVERNMENT OVER WINDFALL TAXES?

YES, AUBYNN, YOUR PREDECESSOR PhD GOT AWAY WITH HER BOOTY, (SO SHE THINKS); DON'T YOU FOLLOW HER FOOTSTEPS. aDVOCATE FOR THE POOR FARMERS WHO HAVE LOST THEIR MEANS OF LIVELIHOOD, THE LOCAL AND NATIONAL GOVTS. WHICH STAND HELPLESS (BECAUSE OF YOUR ILK) AND WATCH GHANA'S RESOURCES USED BY FOREIGN CO'S AIDED BY THE WORLD BANK IN DEVELOPING THEIR COUNTRIES.

So you want to tell Ghanaians and the world that IMF experts don't know economics , that before Companies declare profit they balance their sheets thus all monies put into the Company Including their pay and pensions are added before ,declaring profit, so if Newmont Company declared profit of $3.5 billion and Ghana given $100 million is it not an insult to Ghana? Not even talking about Anglogold Obuasi profits they have reaped since buying the mines. So what you talked about during your speech at South Africa makes you look like a puppet just there to recoup your school fees but not to serve your country , that you may think is your homeland.
Who put you there ? Please Dr.Aubynn find Karl Marx book Das Kapital and read. Better resign or Government fire him , put any one who will be ready to defend the country's interest. After all Ghana is second in Gold production in the World but our living standard don't relate to it. Even though,there will be layoffs ,though hard,but surely Ghana will sail through. VALCO folded but Ghana never folded. Dr. Aubynn everyone has his/her opinions,but your opinion is like a saboteur.

Ask your self why do more Ghanaians work in mines in the sub region instead of at home.Go see how the Malians, South African nations empower their nationals.We always have people who are not reallymining related guys like Mining Engineers,Geologists,mettalugists,Artisans and operators talking for the industry. Ever since AGc died no real empwerment of Ghanaians in the sector.Mr Aubuyn just talk for yor masters nicely.Good work

I think the chamber of mines guys cluck around the white guys so future consultancy earnings. A few of the CEO's of this chamber act the same.

If he cannot understand that the mining organisations siphon money out of the country and barely pay enough taxes then I am afraid he does not represent the interest of Ghanaians and he should not be at the helm of affairs.

My question is:
WHEN IS THIS DR,AUBYNN ADVOCATING FOR THESE FOREIGN MINING COMPANIES,TO TRAIN GHANAIANS AND ALSO PROCESS THE RAW MINERAL OVER HERE?
It looks like,this doctor's mouth is full as you can see,he is defending the foreign mining companies,to the detriment of our economic development.
I hate such guys.
He praised the foreign mining companies on the package they are about to give GHANA MINING WORKERS,about to face redundancy.
He never took the risk factors that these poor miners encounter,and the fact that not many are even well educated,because there have not been any investment done to train them,on what GHANA actually need,but:
TAILORING,PLUMBING,ELECTRICIANS,MASONRY,CARPENTRY,WELDING,SEWING,BEAUTY AID,which already abound in Ghana.
The doctor,has to call:
SPADE,A SPADE AND A SHOVEL,A SHOVEL,but not be a HYPOCRITE,standing on the fence,as if defending his own,but dumping us in the sea,rather.
HE NEVER EVEN SPOKE ANYTHING ABOUT THE PROCESSING OF THE MATERIAL IN GHANA,LET ALONE,THE WHOLE OF AFRICA,though a huge platform was offered to him,to have done that.
Why then did he say,still GHANA IS THE BEST PLATFORM IN AFRICA,TO INVEST IN MINING,after supporting the foreign companies,against Ghana,on windfall tax.
THAT SHOWS HE IS A HYPOCRITE.

AT DEVON CONFERENCE LAME DUCK MAHAMA COULD ONLY COMPLAIN BUT FAILED TO DEMAND THAT MINING COMPANIES ARE OBLIGATED TO PAY THE 10% WILDFALL GAIN TAXES AND DAMN THE CONSEQUENCES.

THE 10% WINDFALL TAXES WILL BE FAR GREATER THAN THE INFINITESIMAL WAGES THE WESTERN MINING COMPANIES PAY THEIR WORKERS.

MINING COMPANIES BENEFIT FROM CHEAP LABOUR AND ALSO ESCAPE 10% WINDFALL TAXES, AND NOBODY IS READY TO TAKE THEM ON TO DEMAND THE 10%, WHICH COULD BE USED TO GENERATE MORE JOBS AND TRAINING SCHEMES FOR OUR YOUTH. FOOOLS
