At best they could be described as soil amendments or conditioners. technically speaking fertilisers should provide at least 5% of one or more of the three primary nutrients. Again, Koosei raised a very critical point that seems to be lost on the next two contributors to the discussion. no soil amendment ought to accepted just on its face value. It needs to be tested not only in the labs to ascertain the quality but it has to also be pilot tested under controlled experimental conditions, preferably as pot experiments to establish its efficacy. No two soils are the same and so a one size fits all approach to soil fertility management is a non-starter. And please cut out the insults.
