The NDC is on its way out! John Mahama is a lame duck President who broke his own legs with a brazen attempt to impose GMOs on Ghanaians without any public awareness and participation in the decision! He thinks we are children!
The only politician of note to publicly oppose this dastrad act of the Mahama administration has been Samia! Only yesterday she hit the streets with Ghanaian farmers, workers, students and Ghanaians of all walk of life to oppose this imposition.
What this means is that Ms. Samia Nkrumah has become the most relevant politician to the ordinary Ghanaian since the beginning of the Fourth Republic! Majority of the members of both the NDC and the NPP, the two main dominant political parties do not want to have GMOs IMPOSED on Ghanaians, and their leaders are disappointing them.
Samia will take them all to the cleaners! She does not need to join any other party to do the job! The CPP is coming on its own. And we don't need the NDC! NDC has proved to be a party that is forcing Ghanaians to eat GMOs and the NPP as a party that is supposed to oppose them is supporting the NDC!

If Konadu Agyemang Rawlings with all the baggage she is carrying, can still see herself as a potential Presidential material and a future Presidential candidate, why shouldn't a decent and highly respected person like Samia consider herself as a future Presidential candidate.? There is no reason for her to choose to stand on the side instead of being the flag bearer of her CPP Party. After all, she has integrity, honest, open and better prepared to serve than most of the current Presidential aspirants. So, if she should at any time decides to be a Presidential candidate, it is within her God giving and legal right as a Ghanaian to do so.

Let the lady follow her mind; that is what objectivity entails.
I stand in awe of how we wish other people fail in their tracks to success because of individual personal indulgence other that collective success.
IN an opener in the current February 2014’s issue of the Scientific America under the title “NEVER SAY NEVER”, the writer contends “you should not be surprised when long shots, miracles and other extraordinary events occur…, then continues, “We should expect a specified event to happen, no matter how unlikely it may be at each opportunity. Sometimes, though, when there are really many opportunities, it can look as if there are only relatively few. This misperception leads us to grossly underestimate the probability of an event: we think something is incredibly unlikely, when it’s actually very likely, perhaps almost certain.” Now, in the face of adversities what does this represent when a lady considers being a president in Ghana? Things could change when we have too much.
Frankly, I don’t need to quote from a magazine to drive across my mind but it allows looking at things from a narrow view stemming out of “cultural” positions. Now, that Samia couldn’t retain her parliamentary seat doesn’t mean failure, not at all. In Ghana where the ignorant are in the majority it is highly questionable if there’s any relevance to what so many people think, therefore by extension their choices and preferences. For, haven’t our bad choices dearly cost us already, far too more than we would ever wish for? Her inability to retain her seat doesn’t prevent millions voting for her as president in the future outside her constituency, if she made the choice late on if she wanted.
I would not see Mahama fail because I know he is taking decisions others didn’t take, and he may have surprises for Ghanaians this year and ahead, but should he fail, I can bet my last pesewa that we would most like have a lady as a president, especially a person like Samia if she presents herself. I do mean, if she fails to show up for the presidency, we will elect a goat, and why not a tortoise; they will all perform better than the idiots we have ever have heading politics in Ghana, and I mean my words.
I believe we should initiate actions that encourage ladies to stand for the presidency and go ahead to entice them to steer clear from the long lasting and old stealing tradition bedeviling parties in power. If Samia wants to stand, let her indulge; after all, if she will not be worse, she will only be better, and anything better in terms of politics in Ghana is most welcome.

I do not wish to belittle the intelligence and ability of Ghanaians but, comparing our dismal situation to that of other countries who seem to be making a headway in life despite all odds, Mahama would not last 6 months in govt under the circumstances of those more serious people.

Clever presidential candidates usually articulate their policy positions in the heat of the campaigning process just prior to elections. Stating a position too early just gives opponents time to defuse it. Strategic experience and wisdom tell us that we should not play our trump cards too early in any game.

Samia was not even able to keep her parliamentary seat at her fathers home area, her own kith and kin "dumped" her for non-performance and now she wants to be president, how funny. This is precisely what has turned CPP into a laughing stock.

If Akuffo Addo should win an election, I shall support him based on the people he surrounds himself with. I do not have much against Mahama except he cannot straighten his appointees and the corruption galore that is going on unchecked. If he can crack the whip and be firm, he can be a good administrator. Vuvu, don't you also think the 10 percent increase in petroleum products as well as a hike in utility prices has done more harm than good. Taxation helps run countries but a hike is dangerous and breeds corruption

What all the men in CPP would be doing (excuse me if I go far but I know my countrymen) is try to see the color of her undies and if she resists, she becomes the enemy.
I remember how Fremaa Afua Busia suffered under Kufuor's NPP when most party officials tried to enter her panties. What ensued after that was predictive.

I don't think there should be any increase in anything: services and goods, at least, not this early, as it will only increase visit untold suffering on our citizens avid for betterment of their lives.
What Mahama should do is step-up the fight against corruption in the form of a drastic purge in the judiciary, coupled with real indictment of those proved to have messed-up public funds so as to bring some sanity to administration and management situations.
The other will be to review general tax policies and retrieval refinement to block loopholes that made stealing and corruption and endemic possibility: Tema habour comes into view. The income thereby generated would help the government subsidize those the hydrocarbon problem and alleviate poverty instead of directly putting additional levies on those products, thereby spiking the already precarious situation of the citizens.

I started thinking about sending you a message since January 2011 and I drafted the unfinished message below, since then.
I have been waiting for certain changes in the political terrain in Ghana to complete this but those changes beg difficultly to manifest themselves. I will find time to write exactly what I wanted to carry across.
On the other hand, per the time, I will not stop short of showcasing my views and exposing the prime theme and reasons for addressing you this message. In brief, I want you to consider personally and as a lady, the presidency of Ghana in the coming elections. In fact, I don’t pretend to know the criteria for the ascendancy to the flagbearership in your much esteemed party and it [is] not to disrespect Dr. Abu Sakara who I personally deem very honorable and gentlemanly but as I maintained, I will address this in a detailed and comprehensive message to you in the months to come. Are you too young? It will profit greatly the CPP to swap their “old prisms” probably for dynamic telescopes… and this is not invitation to short-change political perspectives.
Though I have a number of sincere sentiments favorable to the actual president hoping he will function as most of us would want I believe the portrayal of your interest in the presidency would have a positive bearing on the political course in general and send a message. Sure, you will get insults because that is what Ghanaians know how to do best while neglecting very relevant issues of weight.
I am not in politics, I don’t belong to any party, and no one knows me in Ghana as far as politics is concerned. I have been thinking of creating an apolitical pressure group that may have negligible political leanings.
I live in Mauritania and Senegal (I shuttle between the two countries). I have attached in PDF for your perusal a copy of the letter I addressed to the President of the Republic, John Mahama.
I have seen quite recently the blurb by the Graphic on issues of corruption involving and Dr. Abu and you. I will address that, too, if I have the occasion to send you a letter.
I have also seen on you an article in the internet portals of Senegal and though little as they were, helps make a solid base for your convictions.
You, together with others in your party, must have to step out of the shades and take on the NDC as you associate with them in the political exercise etc. I think the President will need your energy and help. CPP needs to forge a chance of cutting a slice in the political aura imposed by excessive noise-making NDC and NPP, and it is about time to begin see differently and to conceive broad dynamic of approaches.

If you often accessed the Ghanaweb.com forum, you would notice in a habitually solemn contribution “Vuvuzela” having a few times evoked favorable opinion calling for your leadership as a president of the republic. I did.
That depicts establishment of confidence and trust rather than outright endorsement for the post of president of the republic of Ghana. But make no mistake; it is my belief you would make a respectful, honest and charismatic president of Ghana than the past and current disoriented ones, probably excluding only Jerry John Rawlings. And the prospects of having a lady at the steer of a great nation like Ghana where all the controversial males failed are more appealing than could be envisaged by a lot of folks there in Ghana.
I have never ceased to reflect upon Ghana, and the more I do so, the more the aches radiate throughout my being. There are times I come close to thinking about God Almighty’s great sense of humor as I ask myself if the clay out of which he “invented” Kwame Nkrumah was/is probably different from what he used/uses in molding most others in Africa. I would be hardly wrong if the situations at home and elsewhere in Africa were better. As I write, I know that in three years, that is in 2014, we will still be at the same place, in stagnancy or probably worse off, talking about the same problems because there’s general cluelessness about how to find probable panacea.
Are you of the same clay as your father? The proof of the pudding is in the eating, the old adage says, so we wait patiently to see.
I am a very concerned citizen of Ghana and I don’t think I need a propped-up CV to qualify for your earnest attention. I have written articles in the past, and I may send some to you to edify you on my penchants on issues concerning Ghana. For now, my heart is suffering on account of the way everything Ghana stands for, including its image, is waning – our values, culture and tradition, morality, our dignity, security, sense of worth. The great country of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is in a complex tangle of political and moral disarray and getting tipped over the precipice!
I am not a political ideologist, but it is not to say political ideologies are error-borne per se; the long reel of world history has shown that the odds and setbacks in the political exercise anywhere in this world is not due to ideological imperfections but rather the age-old selfish mentality and big-for-nothing ego of men. And Ghana is having the worst of it on the tickets and labels.
I am a pragmatist, and believe in the collective resolve of principled citizens of Ghana to create a country of our dreams. I believe in goodness and honesty. Though I was an infant when Kwame Nkrumah was overthrown, I remain one of those who still see along his line of sight. You’d understand that truthful and honest citizens still brandish a kind of rehash of Nkrumah’s ideologies…

Dr Abu Sakara appears an excellent person of choice but if appearances alone vouch for values and integrity of people and proved practical during the exercise of office, Ghana would have already been among the best in the world. Now, how does Dr. Abu Sakara differ from the rest of Ghanaian politicians? This is the problem you will face during the coming elections because I believe he would be seen in the same light as others and so he might not win you votes.
Though it is my belief he could be different there will be general apprehension he would begin to replicate exactly the same bad policies others before him pursued and the consequences will be the same over time. Who knows the honorable Professor Mills will change so drastically after elections? Actually he shows he is only good for the classroom.
To be candid, the visage of party situation in Africa is insincere. Were it otherwise NDC and NPP would never have continued to win. But as you must have noted it is a problem of money, big money, so the relevance of party orientation is nullified. Some parties have absolutely no value as far as politics, honesty and objectivity are concerned in Ghana or probably in the whole of Africa. CPP would win if it has a lot of money to throw in futile campaign euphoria and effort without accountability.
In Ghana, I think people aren’t really concerned about who leads them so long as the president could have at his flanks a long list of crooked people stealing everything; that is the ‘essence’ of politics in Ghana. This is what you must begin to address very seriously for people to take you seriously. And a personal question: Do you know if Dr. Kwame Nkrumah even bought a bicycle tyre out of any account? I doubt. I am only thinking out aloud.
Generally, political parties in Africa are only representative of names. South Africa is clearly falling apart with its democracy, a backlash on the post-apartheid reformist placard. If you could see, it is the same blind allegiance of the populations to the ANC when the party crawls with unprecedented high number of corrupt leaders within the ranks of the party. Otherwise, how is it guys like Zuma with 5 wives, 19 children and several concubines could have won elections? Jacob Zuma who was indicted and found not guilty of rape is a classic case of corruption personified and shouldn’t even have been allowed to contest the elections.
Does it look like the situation in Ghana? Well, so it stands that we Africans have inherited a rare genetic condition predisposing us to high inability to identify honesty and truth when we see one yet we convince the world we know how to be proud citizens of the old continent.”

It just so happens that the founder and leader of that Party, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, was a strong and historically indomitable personality so people tend to look to his unbelievable and strong intellect rather than the many political, developmental, philosophical, literary, organizational and incomparable socio-political achievements which he chalked during his lifetime.
For crying out loud, the man has been dead for almost half a century and he remains the most quoted, respected and admired African leader and Blackman ever.
Secondly, what makes you think that Samia is honest? She is ethically dishonest, if she wasnt, she would not have had the impudence after her dismal and continuous string of failures to improve the fortunes of CPP, to aspire towards being a President of this country. What, is she taking us for a joke or what? And take it from me, anybody who is dishonest in any way, has the potential of being dishonest in any other way or situation.
Samia may be a daughter of this great man Kwame Nkrumah but that is about it. She has clearly not done well by running her fathers Party (the CPP) down in a way which the NPP, in spite of all their attempts over the years to do so, failed to accomplish.
