You live on which planet now so I can join you. When did the sale of SOEs start and who were they sold to? How was the money accounted for? If you were my History student, I would have given you F- for this in an essay.

Cells are filthy. Some inmates have no wears...wearing rags.
Talk about the Colonials....your government treats them as bad. THEY ARE HUMANS.
Is due to money problems in your Government. The rich get richer, rest of population suffers.

Some blame should be put on the judiciary. Someone steals a bunch of plantain and is sentenced to prison for 12 months. Is that not nonsense? How much will the state spend on that person for the 12 months? Why not 12 days in prison and 800 hours of community service? That can even benefit the community. To me, not all cases should people be sent to prison for a long time. Get them some few days in prison and let them clean gutters, sweep roadside, fill pot holes etc. Let community service serve as punishment. Over to you Judges and Magistrates

I agree with Frank, Ghana judiciary need serious review, petty crime such as stealing plantain, goats etc. once a person is convicted we should evaluate what benefits the public / state first. Is it in the public interest to incacerate such a person? If the stat would loose more money and resources then such a convicted fellow should be receive community sentence to clean gutters, pick litter. If they violate such a conviction then they can be considered to do a prison term. Some of our judges need serious upgrade in their archaic way of sentencing. Inmates could also serve some of the sentences on tags and be given curfew etc.

I believe hardened criminals like rapists, armed robbers, murderers and embezzlers should not be made to see the light of the day.

I was engaging in prison ministry,when I was in Ghana,from 1981 - 1986 preached at KOFORIDUA PRISONS.
And can attest, those prisoners worshipped God far more than the free men.
They accepted Jesus Christ readily, because we had time for them, and gave them all the love each human being needed and deserves.
I preach under the anointing of God,and these inmates were very serious about the ministry.
One blind guy received his sight, one Sunday,I was preaching.I say this to the Glory of God.
If preachers are very serious on these inmates,God can use them mightily in these inmates in prisons,so lives might be transformed. Some might not have heard the gospel being preached under the anointing of God.I believe they would respond if preachers will visit them constantly and give them the love they need.
I bought their chairs used in their worship, some drums and supplied them with USED CLOTHING from CANADA.
I sourced for MEDICATIONS IN CANADA FOR THEM,on two occasions, but some pharmacists sold and took the money, without using it on the inmates.
I have sworn to get them arrested when I come to Ghana, soon.
They are very, very wicked and uncaring, therefore,I will make them pay dearly.
PREACHERS,CHRISTIANS,PLEASE,GO TO THE PRISONS AND PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THEM.
They all deserve God's loving care.

I don't any reason why an arm robber should be taken good care of.The only thing is, those with minor crimes such as fights and other petty offences don't have to go through this. But, l see no reason why one should feel sorry for people like Ataa Aryee and Co. Nobody stops people feeling sad for them, from donations period.

Ghana's image is gradually going to the pits. It is becoming very embarrassing to introduce yourself as a Ghanaian to others. Our present leaders are destroying all that Nkrumah built - The Ghanaian Pride which we enjoyed boastfully among our neighbours and people around the globe. Now friends and foes look at us as idiots and backwards. Everything is going down and down. Wake up friends and do the right things to save our beloved nation. Dont hand this beautiful country down to THIEVES and insensitive politicians. Throw party politics aside and organize regional meetings to advise and teach representatives what is expected of them. Give them six months to demontrate satisfactory show of good work or boot them from office through an application of recall filed with the courts. Even if the corrupt courts refuse to grant such relief the mere publicity around their incompetence and general outcry for removal will deter others from slackening. Thats the only way to take this nation back to sanity. THIEVES !!

Do it quick to make it easier for Nana to allocate the rooms to the culprits when he take on the mantle of leadership.
