We don't eat properly - too much salt, too much sugar, too much meat, very little fruits and vegetables, we consume too much carbohydrates - too much fufu, kenkey,banku, apkleh, kokonte, etc.
Drink too much alcohol; smoke too much, stress ourselves 24/7, and then we don't seek regular medical check-up - check our blood pressure, our cholesterol, our blood sugar, etc.
With all this, we are lucky we don't die earlier.

It's the children who need more meat to grow healthy but not the men because men who eats too much meat build up too much high blood chlorestol. Men at the age or 35 years and above must cut done on eating red meat and sugar.
This is what sent Komla to his grave.
Yes,he had too much pressure at the BBC but everybody here is working under severe pressure.Komla did not plan his time well and was not doing any exercise at all.His favourite was a khebab with beer after work.This was the cause of his death.
Eating healthy is key to living longer and Africans must learn to eat well balanced diet and reduce their sugar and red meat intact and must exercise at least 2 or 3 times a week.
Adult must not eat after 6pm because food eating after this does not normally digest well.

They must push public health and preventive health measures and tie it in with the role of corruption and its impacts on the life span of the nation. May he rest in Peace! I hope our successful Journalists would not ignore the need to check their Health from time to time. Routine Medical Examination must be part of their life-plan. It gets even more demanding on people's Health when folks work hard under stressful conditions with our Pharmacies replete with fake medicines.

While an autopsy is the only way to establish the causes of these deaths, I would humbly admonish all our youthful successful folks --Journalists, Entertainers, Politicians--to watch what they eat, and take exercises and regular periodic general Health examination seriously.

They should not forget we are highly susceptible to High Blood Pressure and Diabetes, and our traditional "menus of prestige" are full of bad cholesterol. These Journalists are just too young to die natural deaths, all things being equal. Hypertension is noted for bringing upon us a silent, sneaky but sudden deaths.

The urge to live big resultant from the relatively fast attainment of affluence, could cause many to indulge in luxury at the expense of their Health. These folks must try to live much healthier to enjoy their wealth into old age.
