These NDCeivers are full of tricks because whenever you get them on the ropes, they disarm you with "his mother is one of the founders of NPP, Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe is his uncle, or his Mom and Prez Ku4 were the tightest of friends".
What do you think about the semblance of This Mahani smiling picture to Peace Fm morning host?

I think the new MD of Merchant Bank was very unwise to publicly say that the bank could go after the personal assets of those who guaranteed loans for the defaulting customers if they failed to settle. If I were one of such guarantors, I will take steps to secure my assets by putting them in a trust or even transfer them into other people's name such wife, adult children or other family members. That was tantamount to letting the cat out of the bag. It was a wrong wove, bad strategy and poor judgement.

I think you are the one who needs to read well. Kofi Papabi is right, Ibrahim has not paid a dime. Did the quote say he has paid? It said the said amount will be transferred to E&P account at the close of business day today, Thursday which in Ghana means 5 pm.
The quote you cited does not agree with the heading of this article, "Ibrahim Mahama finally pays Merbank". He has not paid yet. We have to wait till the end of today to see if the payment goes through.
Secondly, this news is coming from an unreliable newspaper known to write untruth stories. The news is not from the Merchant Bank saying he has paid.
Third, Mahama owes $38 million to Merchant Bank so even if he pays $28 million, he still has a balance of ten million dollars outstanding.

My question is, can one person's liability send the entire bank into bankruptcy? Some of the statements don't add up. I think we ought to be careful here in judging the whole situation. E & P owed the bank some money but certainly not the only debtor to take the entire bank into bankruptcy. The whole issue has been politicized so much that the truth is far-fetched. It is imperative for the stakeholders, such as SSNIT, to come out with the truth to avert public scrutiny of the whole transaction. I would encourage all interested and concerned Ghanaians to be non-partisan in looking at this critical issue.

The question my two and a half year old girl asked me when me and my adorable wife were reading and discussing the headlines here baffled me to the bone to demand what has gone wrong with our once brilliant reporting journalists?
Everything Ghana is unbelievably crumbling under these NDC national wreckers.
My little girl amazingly showed me the part of this story that says the junior criminal brother of the man imposed on us as President, the crook Ibrahim Mahama has settled his debts and quickly pointed to the part of the same story here that shows that, the managers of Afiexem bank are "EXPECTED to make the transfer"
Expected to make transfer and settled are they same as paid?
My little angle who is yet to make a step to her first school, shockingly asked, Dad, does expected to transfer for payments mean he's paid his debts?
What sort of rubbish journalists are we producing these days in our once noble and politically respected Osagyefo's Ghana?
Who ever put such stinky scrap here with the attempt to praise his pay masters must feel embarrassed and rejected as we can read through what he want to achieve. Doverting the people's attention from such dubious take-over of Merchant-bank.
My question here is, why was Major General Roger Feli, shot to death for officially taking just a pea-nut sum of 50 thousand Cedis loan from the bank?

Rubbish. Everything I've heard was around this issue addressed ALL DEBTORS. Ibrahim Mahama was just one indebted person among the lot.
Where it gets murky is the fact that the President sat in on a meeting concerning an issue over which his brother was involved. He should have simply recused himself from that meeting when he found out his brother was involved in the matter and all this "noise" wouldn't have even began. That's how professionals avoid a perception of conflict of interest, especially when you are in a position of power. He did himself and his party a disservice by not thinking ahead to stay clear of this issue entirely. It would have given him "plausible deniability", which, unfortunately, he doesn't have now.

The Government must come out to confirm full and absolute settlement of the debt owed to Merchant Bank, not just because Ibrahim is a brother of our President but because of the huge attraction that has been generated over the past few months.
Not only that, we need to see a documentary proof of confirmation of payment of the long-standing indebtedness to Merbank and how much exactly was paid. There must be accrued interest and that must also be paid. This is a matter of Public Interest and so there must not be "IFs" or "BUTs".That is why there must be transparency about this particular Merchant Bank Loan business. We do not need Al Haj to run a propaganda excercise for Engineers and Partners.

President Mahama says Ghana’s huge budget deficit must be blamed on fiscal indiscipline by past governments.
He said efforts being made to correct many ills in the management of the economy are facing stiff confrontation from persons within the system who abhor positive change.
According to President Mahama, there are, however, indications that change will surely come.
But he urged the private sector to assist in growing the economy.
The President made these comments during a meeting with the new managing director of Barclays Bank Ghana, Patience Akyianu, at the Flagstaff House Wednesday.

"This paper can confirm that following final discussions between Engineers & Planners and its new investment partners, African Export Import Bank held on Tuesday, January 14, 2014, managers of the Afriexim bank are expected to transfer USD 28m into E & P’s account with Merchant bank, which Fortiz now has a controlling majority by close of day today (Thursday)".
We were told that the debt was going to be paid on Dec, 14, 2013, then it was shifted to Dec,20, 2013, and these were dates Kwaku Baako put out there, based on documents he had cited. It was a mirage. Bature has never been a credible journalist and infact, he's credited as being one of the foremost NDC propagandist mouthpieces, steeped in the peddling of falsehood, deceit and lies. Bature should go to Merchant Bank and go and get the evidence of the monies Ibrahim Mahama owes the bank, having hit the accounts of Merchant bank and swimming in the vaults of the bank, before he opens his wide deceitful, lying and propagandist mouth to spew lies and absolute falsehood about indistinct imagery akin to hallucinations and confusion in his head.
