This is just the beginning. With monkeys in government what can you expect? Since 2008 when this band of useless politicians created by JJ Rawshit came into gov't the value of the cedi has dropped by over 100% whereas corruption and inefficiency has gone up by over 200%.

Naturally you can't expect the farmer to sit idly whilst the fruits of his labour gets debased and devalued by idiots such as Fiifi Kwetey and John Mahana. Go to Asiedu Nketia's hometown, Siakwa, to see. Allthe farmers there smuggle their cocoa through Sampa to Bondoukou in the Ivory Coast.

Media report indicate that 1000s of tonnes of Cocoa is locked in a warehouse in the western region because the authorities do not want to pay the loading boys to off load it. All these encourage the smuggling of the product.

We have been buying the cocoa at unfair prices and the proceeds often times channeled into private foreign accounts through corruption. They can't find their way out but won't admit that the economic situation continues to look bad. By the time Rawlings' govt. was about to leave office, the Cedi was trading at: US $1.00 = C8,000 until it was given some resurrection by Kuffour's govt. At the time he was leaving in 2008 the Cedi was trading at: US $1.00 = GHc 1.00 the current rate is $1.00 = GHc2.15 while things continue to look bleak. Funny people....!!!
