I have been compelled by Jerry Rawlings’ outburst in Nigeria about corruption, as if he himself is a saint. I am compelled to do this expose on the former junta head for those who do not know his role in promoting corruption as a national concept. Read on!
  In June 1979, eight top military officers, including three former heads of state, were lined up and executed at the Teshie Military Firing range in two batches. Gen. Ignatius Kutu Acheampong, Gen. Frederick William Kwasi Akuffo, Gen. Robert Kotei, Lt-Gen. Akwasi Amankwaa Afrifa, Rear Admiral Joy Amedume, Air Vice-Marshall George Yaw Boakye, Emmanuel K. Utuka and Colonel Roger Felli were accused of corrupting the body politic.
  In an interview with New Nation, a monthly magazine circulating in Nigeria and now defunct, the Chairman of the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council, which supervised over the most famous case of extra-judicial killings in the history of the political evolution of Ghana, justified the action of his military junta as a necessary action to rid the body politic of corruption.
  “They were jumbo-sized armed robbers whose killings left the world smelling nicer,” Flt-Lt. Rawlings was quoted by the magazine as saying in explanation.
  Jerry Rawlings said the officers had to be killed, “because Ghana was faced with their type of thievery breed of criminals who were worse than Nigeria’s armed robbers” in the 1970s.
  “Now, I’ll tell you what we have here. We have a breed that is, perhaps, worse than your armed robbers,” he told reporters of the New Nation in an exclusive interview. “They are the pen robbers. These species of vermin have for long perpetrated corruption with impunity.
  “They have not only bled the nation white, but as a result of their thievery, Ghana has suffered hunger, loss of national spirit, loss of pride and respect in the military uniform. So, as you can see, while Nigerians have perceived their main social problems to be the proliferation of six Naira armed robbers, we, in Ghana, think that our problem is that of people who take widow’s mite from a bankrupt nation.”
  In the words of the ex-junta head: “While you (Nigeria) content yourself at the Bar Beach by watching the executions of mal-adjusted labourers, mechanics or clerks, we in Ghana, have killed the jumbo armed robbers, call them generals or brigadiers – whose going to leave the world smelling sweeter.”
  One interesting thing about this claim is that Jerry Rawlings and his righteous AFRC members could not account for monies lodged in AFRC Account 48, which was specially created to lodge huge monies paid by businessmen and other persons and institutions found guilty by a so-called people court to have corrupted the system. Monies from seized goods auctioned to the public at so-called control prices were also lodged in the account.
  When President Hilla Limann took power after the AFRC had left the scene on September 24, 1979, the new Head of State complained that there was nothing in the coffers, insinuating that the famous Account 48 could not be traced.
  When Flt-Lt. Rawlings, who had refused to accept the new government’s offer to go on course abroad, was questioned on the disappearance of the huge lodgings in the account, he replied that he was not an accountant. Incidentally, the fate of PNDC Account 48, established by the second junta led by the same person, has not been accounted for as you read this piece.
  One of the most interesting developments in Ghana’s political evolution was the decision to abolish the General Certificate of Examinations -Ordinary and Advanced levels- by the Provisional National Defence Council. The main reason given was that the old educational system had favoured only the children of the elite class.
  At a time ordinary folks of the land were enrolling their children in what became known as the Junior and Senior Secondary schools, whose certificates -BECE and SCCE- were not recognised beyond the four corners of the country, Jerry Rawlings enrolled his children at the expensive Ghana International School in Accra to read subjects that qualified them to sit for the GCE Ordinary and the Advanced levels his PNDC administration had prohibited the mass of Ghanaian children from.
  I do not believe corruption is only putting state money in one’s pocket. Exploiting state resources for one’s advantage could even be a worse form of corruption. That is why I have an axe to grind with Jerry Rawlings for enrolling all his children abroad to study with the GCE Ordinary and Advanced levels, acquired outside the formal sector in the country.
  What I call Jerry’s Stupid Schools has debased education up to the tertiary level, where lottery numbers, other than real academic work, determines qualification at the first degree level.
  To add insult to injury, when asked to tell Ghanaians how he was funding the education of all the three children -Ezanator, YaaAsantewaa and Kimathi- in expensive universities in Britain and Ireland, Jerry Rawlings looked at Ghanaians in the face and answered that unknown benefactors were picking up the bills for their fees.
  The Almighty is a kind Lord. It emerged that companies the state of Ghana was dealing with and which were milking Ghana dry, were picking up the bills of Jerry Rawlings’ children. And such a person has the audacity to complain about leaders being corrupt.
  I dare state that corruption was elevated into an art under Jerry Rawlings. The circumstances under which he transformed himself from a military dictator into a civil constitutional President smells of corruption all the way to the Castle.
  After eleven and a half years of the ‘Gospel According to Jerry Rawlings,’ a period he himself identified as the ‘culture of silence’, Jerry Rawlings and those who claim to believe in him used the resources of state to convert his military oligarchy and the entire governance system into a political party. With the Electoral Commission and the entire process under his thumb, Jerry Rawlings exchanged his military garb for a description as Constitutional President of the Republic of Ghana. God Almighty should remain where he is.
  The eight year administration he led, as Constitutional President of this Republic, eulogised corruption as a state-sponsored event. State asserts were transferred to cronies under the guise of divestiture. As you read this piece, Nsawam Cannery, one of the flagship projects of the now defunct Ghana Industrial Holding Corporation, belongs to Caridem, a company floated by Mrs. Rawlings’ 31st December Women’s Movement, in a purchasing agreement that parceled the company to Caridem for a pittance.
  Under the Government of the National Democratic Congress Mark One, corruption festered on a large scale. It would take volumes to chronicle corruption under the NDC. But four prominent issues stand out. Getting to the end of the first term of office, newspapers that had been freed from the bondage of the culture of silence began chronicling evidence of corrupt deals by leading members of the regime.
  In 1996, the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice investigated one matter and established massive corrupt deals against Ibrahim Adam, then Minister of Agriculture, Colonel E.M. Osei Owusu, a former Minister of the Interior, P.V. Obeng, a Presidential Staffer, and Dr. Adjei Marfo, a Chief Executive Officer of a state-run company.
  Instead of prosecuting them, the Government of Saint Rawlings rather issued a While Paper exonerating the corrupt elements, and rather indicted the media for highlighting the issue.
  In Britain, Mabey and Johnson was prosecuted not too long ago for corruptly influencing Ghanaian politicians between 1994 and 1999 to gain bridge contracts, The news in these contracts is that barely one year after completing two bridges in Ghana, including one over River Oti, the Ghana Government had to contract experts from Britain to repair them as they threatened to cave in.
  In 2002, the former Managing Director of Ghana Rubber Estates Limited, Mr. Etienne Arthur Marie Popeler, told an Accra Fast Track High Court that he gave millions of dollars to Mr. Dan Abodakpi, then Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Ms. Shirley Ayittey, then Treasurer of the 31st December Women’s Movement, in bribes before his French company, SIPH, could secure GREL.
  The case of Ms. Cotton, an unemployed American, secured $20 million of scarce state cash from compromised state officials, ostensibly to grow rice for Ghanaians at Aveyime in the Battor area of the Volta Region. Even when Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States had sent a warning letter about the background of Ms. Cotton, and intimating that she was incapable of undertaking the task, state officials paid the money. As it turned out, the main motivating factor was the cut they all stood to make.
  If corruption is endemic in the body politic after the so-called June 4, uprising, the genesis could be traced to Jerry Rawlings who executed eight Ghanaians officials on unproven trivial charges, and out-doored full- blown corruption as a state policy.
  In other exposé next week, I intend to draw the link between the free for all looting that assails the body politic in the Mills-Mahama regime, and the adventure of Jerry John Rawlings as Head of State of this Republic. I shall return

  our so called fake president and his idiotic fools continue to display to the whole world their incompetence and stupidity. he goes running around looking for investors or money when all it takes is prudent and sound macroeconomic policy implementation. we shall list a few examples so its even clear to the sick warped minded ndc agent provocateurs here. we borrow billions to procure finished products or give the juiciest parts of contracts to foreigners instead of just taking a little effort and organize our economy better. instead of building modern 100 meter fishing boats for our fishermen , manufacturing our own tractors for our farmers , mining equipment and trucks for galamsay miners and so on . we choose to import 2 thirds of our fish requirement , hand over these gold and other mineral concessions to foreigners who dont invest in our economy , deny the farmers the over half a million tractors and other agric mechanization needed because are leaders are too selfish and lazy to take the well-being of our people to heart . instead of encouraging and facilitating the return of our diaspora so they give our ailing economy the boost and capital we can surely count on , we treat them dirt and frustrate them so much that most return . they would rather have Chinese , Arab/Muslim money as there they get a kickback. they can not understand the need to unite all potentials in order to attain development , industrialization and new 21st century jobs for OUR own people , rather prefer that we import everything and keep our people in poverty as in their wicked hearts saturated and drenched with hatred of the Akans , hegemony , tribalism , favoritism and material greed. the only consolation we have is that today our people now see very clearly what these political impostors are all about and are getting more and more determined to get rid of them either by war or a revolution. all the institutions of the state have failed us including the judiciary , parliament . they have secured a privileged status for themselves and deny the majority free education although its within our reach as a 20 pesewa levy on petrol would secure the funds for this in less than 6 months so its started now and not vaguely postponed to the indefinite future . how can these fools think we should sit aside and applaud their non action ? we live in this purgatory of despair and now they want to force down our throats gay sodomizing perverse morals as their ideal . each day they continue with this jolly ride of profound stupidity they earn our deeper resentment and hate of their actions . our day will come soon , long live the republic of Akan

He speaks for himself and not for Ewes. So if someone somewhere generates or whips up hatred against Ewes don't expect them to keep quiet.

  It would be recalled that before Election 2000, the Rawlings's P/NDC had ruled Ghana for 19 solid years. This era, as we all know, was marked by human rights abuses, tribalism, corruption, economic hardship, cash and carry system, and more seriously, serial killings of women.
  
  What then did President John Agyekum Kufuor and his NPP do with the power given him between 2001 and 2009? This write-up seeks to find the answer under social infrastructure, policies & programmes, and good governance.
  
  ON SOCIAL INFRASTRUCTURE • Kufuor's tenure witnessed the construction of two new sports stadia at Essipong and Tamale; the rehabilitation of both Accra and Kumasi sports stadia, and another sports complex in Cape Coast.
  
  • Under Kufuor, a new Presidential Palace was built to house the president and his family; the Accra-Tema commuter railway line was constructed, and the Keta Sea Defence wall was built to protect the people of Keta.
  
  • A $622m loan was secured for the construction of the Bui Dam & Bui City Project; the Boankra Inland Port was started (now abandoned); major feeder and trunk roads (Accra-Kumasi-Aflao-Kasoa-Cape Coast, Aburi), several by-passes in Accra and Kumasi including the Sofoline and Asafo interchange, and George Walker Bush 14km High Way were all constructed.
  
  • The Peduase Lodge, which had been abandoned was restored; several boreholes were drilled to end the perennial water problems in Cape Coast and Tamale; the Aboadze Thermal Plant was expanded; the Kofi Annan ICT Centre for Excellence, and state-of-the art wood village at Sokoban in Kumasi for Anloga carpenters were all built.
  
  • Another legacy of Kufuor is the construction of the Accident and Emergency Centre with a landing base at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH). This has saved several precious lives.
  
  • Besides, 56 existing senior high schools were upgraded as Model Schools; two institutions (University of Education, Winneba, and University of Mines & Technology) were given autonomy to run as public universities, UDS had Campuses at Wa and Bolgatanga, 21 new senior high schools, 1,334 new JHS blocks, 1,331 primary schools, and 5,164 pre-schools were built.
  
  • Also, over 5,000 affordable housing units at various parts of the country were built. A cocoa processing plant was built in Kumasi. The West African Gas Pipe Line was nearly completed. There was expansion of the road network from 39,000 km of accessible roads to 65,000 km by 2008.
  
  • The Ghana @ 50 ‘legacy’ projects like recreational parks, renovation of public buildings, and historical monuments across all the 10 regions and their district capitals were built. The government also built 14 fishing harbours in our fishing communities.
  
  ON POLICIES & PROGRAMMES • The Kufuor government introduced free basic education through the capitation grant (fee- free). There was school feeding programme where pupils from some selected public basic schools were given one hot meal a day.
  
  • The National Health Insurance Scheme was introduced to replace the cash and carry system and make health care affordable. There was also the introduction of free maternal care to reduce child mortality.
  
  • The government frequently released brand new buses to GPRTU, and introduced the metro mass transit, replaced the Ghana Airways with Ghana International Airlines (all meant to improve the transportation system.
  
  • The NPP introduced the Northern Development Fund with a US$25m seed fund to reduce the North-South poverty gap; free bus ride for school kids, brought Zoom Lion Company Limited to rid our cities of filth, created Youth Fund with a $50m seed money and instituted the National Youth Employment Programme, which rolled out seven programmes including community police, teaching assistance, health care, agric extension, etc to reduce the country’s high unemployment.
  
  • Kufuor also introduced the mass cocoa spraying exercise, frequently increased the producer price of cocoa; subsidised fertilizer, and made prompt payment of bonuses to cocoa farmers.
  
  • In his quest to mechanise agriculture, the Kufuor government imported 3,331 brand new tractors, but unfortunately, Mahama Ayariga, and Alban Bagbin used their positions in government to buy some at only GHC1,000.
  
  • The annual cocoa yield increased from 350 metric tonnes in 2000 to 750 metric tonnes in 2006 with an income of US$1bn to the economy. By 2010, Ghana had hit 1m cocoa production. This feat alone moved Ghana from the 4th position to the 2nd position in terms of the world’s leading producers of the product.
  
  • The size of the Ghana's economy quadrupled from US$3.9m in 2008 to US$16.3m in 2008, thus ending the year with GDP growth rate of 8.4%.
  
  • Whilst inflation was reduced from 40% in 2000 to 9.8% in 2006 (single digit) and later 18% in 2008, interest rate fell from 50% to 25% during the period under consideration. The daily minimum wage was increased from 42Gp (4,200 old cedis) in 2000 to GHC2.25 (22,500 old cedis) in 2009.
  
  • A New Education Reform was put in place in 2007 with special emphasis on Maths, Science, Vocational and ICT. Kindergarten education officially became part of our basic education system.
  
  • The admission of JHS graduates into SHS was computerised to reduce corruption and hassle of parents; there was Baah-Wiredu Laptop project aimed at giving one laptop to every school child.
  
  • All the 38 Teacher Training Colleges were upgraded into tertiary status (Colleges of Education); Distance education programme was introduced for teachers and workers.
  
  • The government also introduced Untrained Teacher Education Programme for Pupil Teachers to become trained teachers, Access Course to Teacher Training Colleges for SHS graduates who could not do well in Maths and English. The purpose was to upgrade the knowledge of the teacher, beef up the teacher population, and subsequently help to address the falling educational standards in the country.
  
  • Private universities sprung from 4 to over 50, whilst existing infrastructure in the public universities and other public tertiary institutions were expanded through the GETFund.
  
  • The SSNIT Loan Scheme was restructured for students to take more loans. Plans were far advanced to start not only Single Spine Salary Structure for public sector workers, but also a new 3-tier pension scheme for both private and public sector workers.
  
  ON GOOD GOVERNANCE • His Excellency, President J. A. Kufuor tolerated all shades of opinion and verbal abused from ‘Dr.’ Asemfoforo, an NDC paid serial caller, and J. J. Rawlings, who at one time referred to the then sitting President as ‘Ataa Ayi’ - a notorious armed robber.
  
  • Ghanaians witnessed the National Reconciliation; the reburial of three former heads of state namely; Okatakyie Afrifa, Gen. I.K. Acheampong and Gen. F.W.K Akufo and five senior military officers, who were executed in 1979 by J. J. Rawlings.
  
  • In addition, over 100 assets of noble and hard working citizens seized by J.J. Rawlings were deconfiscated to their owners.
  
  • The criminal libel and seditious laws which had provided 10 years’ maximum imprisonment for offenders was repealed. The People’s Assembly concept which made it possible for Ghanaians to interact with the President and his Ministers on yearly basis was instituted.
  
  • There was all-inclusive governance with the likes of Mallam Issah (PNC), Dr. Paa Nduom, Prof. Badu Akosah, Prof. Hagan - all CPP leading members, working under the NPP administration. Kufuor also facilitated the appointments of Dr. Ibn Chambas as the Secretary General of ECOWAS, and Ekwow Spio-Garbrah as Chief Executive Officer of CTO.
  
  • Kufuor created 60 additional districts and raised some of them to municipal & metropolitan status to facilitate local governance. The District Assembly Common Fund was increased from 5% to 7.5%.
  
  • There was a plethora of FM Radio stations, regular media encounters with the President, broadcasting of news in the major local dialects on the Ghana Television (GTV), which hitherto had been in English and Akan.
  
  • The Kufuor government passed the Representation of the People Amendment act (ROPAA) into law to enfranchise Ghanaians in the diaspora, though Afari Gyan failed to make it operational.
  
  • Kufuor should also be commended for the expansion of mobile phone network across the length and breadth of the country as he removed tariffs on mobile phone importation.
  
  • Kufuor created a Ministry for Public Sector Reform with the view to developing a new and positive mindset for public sector workers; Ministry of Women and Children’s Affairs to empower women and improve their lot; and the Ministry of Chieftaincy Affairs to tap the rich expertise of our noble traditional leaders.
  
  • Also, June 4 and the 31st December were removed from the statute books as public holidays. The 64th Infantry Regiment were disbanded to other units to ensure discipline in the Armed Forces.
  
  • Kufuor featured regularly at all G-8 Summits. His excellent diplomatic relations with world leaders enabled Ghana not only to attract attention and investment worldwide, but also he was unanimously elected to chair both the African Union (AU) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). Under his leadership, Ghana had the opportunity to assume the rotational presidency of the UN Security Council.
  
  • President Kufuor also won several international awards including the Chatham House Prize Award in 2008 as a result of peace and economic growth which characterised his two terms in office. No wonder he was given a rousing welcome by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II of England.
  
  • Again, President Kufuor took a leading role in mediating in regional conflicts including those in Liberia, La Cote D’Ivoire, Kenya, Sudan, and Zimbabwe.
  
  • As a true democrat, he was even criticised by his own party members and sympathisers for not hanging onto power before the Tain by-elections when the NPP’s Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo was leading in the 2008 Presidential elections.
  
  • Kufuor is on record as the only President who left office in the peaceful manner in which he entered it. This is indeed a lasting legacy because all his predecessors were either overthrown by the military or metamorphosed themselves into civilian presidents.
  
  • Kufuor introduced the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) programme, where the aged and other vulnerable people in Ghana were paid monthly allowances of between 8 and 15 Ghana cedis.
  
  • Under President Kufuor's leadership, Ghana became the first sub-Saharan African country to cut in half the proportion of its people who suffer from hunger. He and LUIZ DA SILVA of Brazil jointly received the 2011 World Food Prize.
  
  • He introduced micro finance loans to help small and medium-scale businesses, the Export Development Fund (EDIF), the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) which makes it possible for local producers to access the US market, as well as, the Ghana Poverty Reduction Programmes I & II were all aimed at improving the lot of Ghanaians.
  
  • The Kufuor-led NPP administration purchased VALCO from the Americans at a cosmic sum of US$20m.
  
  • On corruption, a minister of state under his administration was charged for wilfully causing financial loss to the state and together with other members of the previous government, was sentenced to a prison term.
  
  • Ghana was the first country in Africa to submit herself to the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM). It would also interest readers to note that for the first time in 50 years, Ghana under the leadership of Kufuor earned a respectable B+ rating on the international financial scene in 2006 and this indeed, facilitated the country’s successful bid to access over US$ 750m from the Eurobond market.
  
  • The passage of the Public Procurement Act, Financial Administration Act, Internal Audit Agency Act, which made the agency exceed its revenue target every year, the Office of Accountability Act, the Whistle Blowers Act, the importation of new police uniforms and over 1000 police vehicles to combat crime, the Right to Information bill, the establishment of Fast Track High Courts, the strengthening of state institutions like the SFO, CHRAJ, among others, were all geared towards the eradication of this social evil in the Ghanaian society.
  
  • Last but not the least, Ghana under Kufuor’s reign became the largest recipient of Millennium Challenge Account funds of US$547m to combat poverty in Ghana. The bilateral and multilateral debt cancellations as a result of Ghana joining the Heavily Indebted and Poor Countries (HIPC) initiative and the UN's and World Bank’s lucrative jobs for His Excellency, J. A. Kufuor even before the 2008 general elections make him stand tall among his contemporaries. He made Ghana, an oil producing country as oil was struck in commercial quantities in 2010.
  
  How could the excellent record enumerated above be a factor to the NPP's electoral defeat? I leave it for the judgement of the Ghanaian voter in 2016.

  Personally I don't agree with Napo's attempt gag JJ. The man has been saying a lot of things he alone seems to know. The best approach is to dare him to proof his theories or shut up. Next step is to play his record back to him. NPP is weak at exposing this liar for who he really is. Let us not forget that majority of today's youth who form majority of the populace were not born during the dark days of Rawlings and therefore only know this crook through hear-say stories without facts. That's why JJ is seen as a hero and not the murdering thief he really is. A little history of this criminal reads as follows; Extra judicial killings; Till now we cannot explain the deaths of over 300 known citizens of Ghana who were picked up by security personnel and killed. This does not include the obvious murders of the high court judges and many undocumented murders that took place during his era. Tribalism; what kind of coincidence led to all heads or deputy heads of state services to come from a tribe in Ghana who constitute less than 10% of the national population? A few examples, National Service Coordinator - Ewe, Force Commanders - Ewes or part Ewe. Ministry Chief Directors - majority Ewe, Security Forces intake - majority Ewe. Why? Corruption; why were Dan Agbodakpi, Serlomey and co jailed? Divestiture of state properties, who bought them during JJ's era? Can JJ produce a report from the Auditor and Accountant General on his administration during the PNDC era? Who after screaming probity, accountability and integrity, sent his children to foreign schools abroad without disclosing how he funded their education. Who received $5m from Abacha without disclosing it until the alarm was sounded. Under who's watch did the Mabey and Johnson saga take place? Who benefited from the Non-Aligned Conference buildings built near the American Embassy in Cantonments and kick-backs from the La-beach hotel project. This information is freely available at the DTI in UK. This is just the tip of the iceberg. There is more, so JJ should just shut up before we repeal the indemnity clause and deal with him. NPP or any other party or person must be bold enough to stand up to this bully who is only a coward at heart - check his coward track record from his co-coup makers, who he's succeeded in anihilating one by one. What's his legacy? Envy, greed, get rich quick on other peoples toil, unruliness and indiscipline. This is why Ghana is seeping into the dark ages, while the people remain uninformed and ignorant to notice the true cause of our woes.

Many in Ghana today can afford to send their kids to school abroad without having to steal from government. While the Koreans and Chinese were developing their economies, our economy shranked from $5 billion in 1981 to less than $4 billion in 2000. This is because this visionless person worked on our tendency to hate the hardworking and progressive people who could make us make strides as a people. Have you noticed why, there is so m8uch passion when Rawlings speak, it is because those with foresight see how destructive his intervention in Ghana's affairs have prevented us from where we could have been as a nation whiles fools who lack vision see him as their standard bearer, not surprising.

He refuses to tell Ghanaians what level of stakes he had in Resigha Ltd, that was used a conduit of transferring his shares in foreign currency into his foreign accounts, yet has the audacity to kill Gen. Acheampong, Utuka, Gen. Akufo & Co. saying those people deserved to die. I can predict that Rawlings' time is coming. It won't be any state security or govt. involvement; those families who're still suffering in pain will rise up and speak for the voices that are crying in the graves. That there was no Auditor-General’s report pertaining to expenditure of his government doesn't mean he was corrupt. After all, the Auditor-General's reports are still available and therefore anyone, including yourself, who wants to see them can do so. Likewise, that JJ bought state property for his wife and sent his children to expensive schools abroad are a far cry from being corrupt. I personally come from a very poor family, but by God's grace, I also received my more than ten years. education at expensive graduate schools overseas without a penny coming from my own pocket or my family's; all my graduate education was funded by generous financial aid from the universities I attended. If a poor man like myself was able to win scholarships to receive my education at reputable foreign universities, how much more the Rawlinges who were rulers of Ghana? Couldn't they have secured financial aid for their children? But where exactly did you get the idea that they personally paid for their kids' education from their own pockets?
  
  Dr. Prempeh, you're a medical doctor, I understand, so you must reason and argue like one in order to make sense and convince your readers. So far,you've totally failed to do so; you've behaved, in fact, like one who's consumed by pure emotion, exactly the way unlettered people do. You must transcend that!
  
  Now, why don't you NPP members allow Mr. Kufuor to defend himself? Why does he keep mute all the while and allows people like you to defend him so poorly, especially if he's not corrupt as JJ sees him? Besides, did he himself also not at least once describe JJ as being filthy rich, without offering any proof?
  
  Your threat that the NPP would be forced to open the Pandora box if JJ is not called to order is totally empty. Who should call him to order?   It is not Rawlings who is accusing Kufuor of corruption. Rather, it is his own Cabinet Members such as Esseku, the mother of his twins, P C Appiah etc who exposed him as such. As for Hotel Wawawa, Ghanatel sale to Vodafone, the EO Group of Companies, State Lands the least said about it the better.
  
  Kufuor could not talk about corruption or condemn it because he will be insulting or exposing himself.

Besides our first President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, no political leader has had as much of an impact on Ghana as Jerry John Rawlings, whose legacy for Ghana, ironically, is one of the most peaceful and democratic dispensations on the African continent.   We were all there when he smoked 'wee' and asked these poor junior officers to kill for his self egoistic entrenchment of power.
  Now, listen countrymen, Rawlings is a big thief (but wants to be smart). He has together with his jezebel wife amassed millions of dollars worth of Ghana's money, state properties (lands, gold from Obuasi etc.) and huge bribes he took from foreigners like the Lebanese, Syrian and Europeans. He also diverted foreign loans and aids into secret accounts in different names and so on, not to talk about the innocent people he killed and hurt. We know all. He is a real DEMON and full of EVIL.
  Did he not create and launch a new party (NDP) with his wife and disgracefully sneaked back into NDC after their NDP horribly failed to pass registration and couldn't even gain a single vote in the parliamentary election, and you tell me he is not dangerous, a conman and an opportunist? A man of integrity? Analyze yourselves.
  I think Rawlings is not sound and free and is perpetually troubled by his immense secret evil deeds. The evil that men do lives after them, so let it be with Rawlings.

  The is no reason why this box cannot be opened under Parliamentary priviledge by statements being made in Parliament if members are fearfully of Rawlings attempting to silence them by threats of legal action. Statements made in the outside the protection of Parliamentary priviledge are of course preferably as this would force Rawlings to defend himself in the Courts if he dared to do so.
  Call his bluff and go for it - it is about time the full truth were known in the interests of the nation and the fight against corruption.

  The indemnity clauses only protect him against matters which may be considered to be "acts of state". The assasination of previous Presidents by firing squad may be consider to be such an act. However, acts carried out him as President with the principal aim, but not necessarily the sole aim, of enhancing his own and his family's personal wealth and financial standing cannot be considered to be "acts of state" and cannot be indemnified under articles in the Constitution. Common Law is quite clear on that.

  My understanding is that according to the Constitution of Ghana JJ cannot be prosecuted or held responsible in any Court in Ghana for all that happened during his 19 years rule of the country. That is why he is behaving like that. Lawyers like Tsikata assisted him to write a new constitution which absolved him from any acts or omissions. So he can say whatever he likes about the previous administrations. That is all there is to it. Thanks for the space.

  The Bible stated that Cain killed his innocent brother Abel and the blood of Abel cried for justice. The same book says those who live by the sword will die by the sword.
  
  Two points here; the blood mentioned could refer to the physical blood or the spiritual blood or both. In all cases JJ Rawlings a few days ago confessed that some innocent and good people were killed because the sacrifice was necessary.
  
  He juxtaposed himself to be some kind of a fetish priest who demanded not the blood of animals to be sacrificed but the blood of innocent people to appease his own little gods in this barbaric way.
  
  The international court of justice please take note of this confession so he can be tried for crimes against humanity.
