in our country the voice of reason can not be heard as the decision makers , stakeholders and politics are so polarized through tribalism and other mud slinging propaganda that the truth and common sense have become irrelevant . the ministry of agric is notorious for the the fact that the minister and chief director there are the most corrupt callous characters in the govt today. every nation that has achieved development has put in checks and balances that rectify mistakes or evil tendencies , our leaders first make sure these checks and balances are eliminated whether by declaring president for life or one party states like nkrumah did or by putting strange immunity or indemnity clauses in the constitution like rawlings did. if there is no accountability there can be responsibility and a vicious circle of corruption , disunity and open crimes are committed but none of this ruling oligarchy will ever be made to pay for their atrocities. our country and her citizens produce tens of billions but poverty is the daily lot of most of our citizens as the system of divide and rule has been perfected , our gold and other natural resources leave the country but no a single dollar comes back to benefit our people , our diaspora of over 10 to 15 million is not involved in development rather when they come they are financially raped by all from their own relatives with ridiculous demands for electronic gadgets and school fees to the state organized mafia institutions with tribally biased evil agendas . a nation not unified or focused on matters of national importance are doomed to failure . the quiet majority are being exploited and raped on a daily basis but due to the govt sponsored propaganda and lies are unable to see things clearly and act . yes we have a hopeless depressing future ahead due to our own laziness , non action and cowardice of thought. nobody is interested in investigating the truth for themselves or even questioning the most obvious crimes. jj has proclaimed k4 a corrupt individual yet after superpowers investigated they rewarded him by appointing him special envoy , jj will not go to jail for his false declaration rather in the madness and with his tribal hegemony chauvinistic support will be declared a hero and not for inciting hatred against another leader who will most likely end up in a pool of blood like mills .the tragedy is far from over as mahama and his lies only continue this trend , mr all talk and no action is busy taking us on another jolly ride to despair and hopelessness . the only solution is a cleansing war or revolution which will ensure that the country is divided up so we all get a fresh start , no point in fixing whats too broken to repair

In any bribery case, there is the giver and taker but in most cases as those involving the police, the taker sometimes also demands the bribe. For this reason it would be better for the Police head of Public Affairs to advise his officers not to ask for and take bribe even if willingly offered. Instead, they should arrest the giver for prosecution for attempting to bribe a public officer. That would be more effective in fighting police corruption.

The public should be advised not only to give but also to refuse to pay if demanded and to report police officers who demand bribe. Once such reports are made the police must investigate and prosecute such officers for corruption. In other words, fighting police corruption is a two-way traffic.

That is the moment the CRIME gets committed! Without the mention of CEDI value, he/she is put under bargaining pressure, to call a figure comparable to the officer's taste. Moreover the Speed dectector was pointed to the ground.As soon as he saw me he raised the dectector ,pointing on me..We all started laughing in the car.He then came to me with seriousness showing me 80kmh, which has been recorded by previous car.I said it is never true.My friend showed him the speedometer recorded by his Smartphone before he saw us .To cut the long Story short I was delayed ,I missed my flight and had to buy a new ticket one-way costing about $1200. Im not encouraging bribe or corruption but the thing is rotten from the head .If they refuse to take the judges at the court will take.

It is good the police can charge individuals if they do wrong but the public have to know how much they have to pay or have to be sentenced for every wrong doing.

And we should not allow the police officers to handle money.

They can only give a paper to an offer to do the payment at the bank for a receipt and I think that will a big revenue for the nation if people continue to do wrong.

If you stop the offer and report the officers as the officer is advising, the son called corrupt officers will stop misbehaving, period. But as many of you are thieves and are always want to cut conners, you always want to pay bribe. I will rather pay Ghc5 upfront than get tangled in the wayo ways your officers display when we come to the police station for our papers. We end up paying more and lose a lot of time including hotel costs. Why don't you set up undercover drivers to ply the streets and roads your guys mostly perform their illegal trade if you are honest about stopping corruption within your ranks?

Ask any driver the trouble they go through when your officers asked for the driving licence and the driver mistakenly or intentional underlined didn't push the 2ghana cedis token in the licence cover.
The police profession is one that should be above reproach but the characters of the players involved leaves much room to desired.
l sometimes wonder if the police PIPPS do its work or whether the services have a way of monitoring the conducts of its officers or they, the top echelons are only happy that their boys raked in booties that the could share at the end of the day?
The profession is besmear with and tainted with corruption it smell from their uniform.

The applicants who have gone through all the necessary procedures involved in the recruitment exercise way back 2011 and still dormant in the house. Whilst the police administration took huge bribes from unqualified persons and pushed them into the service at the expense of the genuine and qualified applicants. The top commanders in the service are those teaching the junior ranks bribe taking. As they extort monies from them before illegally reruiting them into the service.

its good that the police is asking the general public to desist from giving money out to the police, I think the police must devise a system of payment just like the one in the UK whereby drivers who are fined for traffic offences receive their fines through the post or has to pay at the post office or by an electronic system. Ghana must punish police men who stand by the road side to extort money from drivers when even they have all the papers and this is very typical at places like the Atonsu on Lake road in Kumasi from around 2pm - 4pm everyday including public holidays whilst their superior officer stands aside unconcerned and shamelessly looking on. People must begin to locate and report such officers - name and shame officers. The police service must prosecute officers who take bribes. Newsfile host over to you.
