Ghana is not like the UK where the party can remove the leader of the ruling party who is also the Prime Minister and therefore change the Prime Minister. This is because in the UK the Prime Minister is not elected by the electorate but by the party.

In Ghana, only Parliament can impeach or remove the President once elected. Though it the party that selects its presidential candidate, the party cannot remove or impeach the president once elected by the electorate. The best they can do is not to present him/her as flagbearer for a second time. Whether NDC amends its constitution or not, no ruling party in Ghana can remove or impeach the president in office even if s/he violates the party's constitution. The party can remove him or her as party leader but the president will continue to remain President of Ghana until the end of the four year term. This person should take time to study the 1992 Constitution before he comes out with rubbish

Starting from the days of Nkrumah every minority ethnic group comes to power with the mentality of my time has come '' we go chop Ghana money some '' and do everything to ensure this . nkrumah using the old strategy of divide and rule , pit brother against brother divided the fanti speaking people into 2 regions , rawlings came and used the same methods to pit part of the fantis and ashantis against each other and now pepeni is [laying the same game of northerners against southerners and all non Akans against the Akans . Billions have been approved in parliament in the past few years and the monies disappeared meanwhile they shove down our throats stories of 3,5 million and rumours of CIA basically accusing Akans again of corruption as diversions to the real truth of the looting of those hiding behind the ndc party . our problem in a nutshell is hegemony tribalism and chauvinism and the evil fruits are corruption , destruction of the economy and treacherous enmity between brothers . with out the unification of all the potentials and peoples of the land there can be no progress or development leading to industrialization and real meaning well paying jobs for our children no matter the natural resources . that is also the the problem of the Arab world who will forever remain trapped in a quasi feudal society , we Akans choose a different path and will most surely secede as there is no other alternative , long live the republic of Akan

Identify one corrupt practice going on in the government, and report it. look closely, and you will find it. So far, people who are outside the party are the ones saving the country by reporting the historic corruption practices in the govt. I will suggest that the suggestion in the article be examined and if it can give the people more power, so be it. Our leaders take the masses for granted, when they need power, they will associate themselves with all sorts of people but after, they neglect them and the very rich guys get all the butty at the expense of the very needy. Lets take the power little bit from parliament which is no different from the executive and see what we can make out of it. I am particularly sick and abhorred by our continual reference to the west for everything, is about time we also show the world we can at least think around our common good.

Ebenezer Arkutu's views are born out of one of two possibilities: the first is utter ignorance of the place of the 1992 Constitution in our governance system in Ghana; and the second is that he may be showing the signs associated with the onset of madness, that is if his level of education is appreciable and hence incongrous with the level of ignorance he is apparently displaying.

If the first diagnosis is correct, then he should embark on aggressive education to expel this frightening and embarrassing level of ignorance. However, if my second diagnosis is correct, then I advise his family to take him to the nearest psychiatric hospital for help for a stitch in time saves nine. I wish him well in either case!!!
