MIND YOU IF YOU ARE DEALING WITH A SMART PERSON, HE/SHE IS CAPABLE OF DOING ANYTHING AND THAT IS WHAT NDC ARE DOING TO NPP.THEY KNOW THAT THE STRONGHOLDS FOR THE NPP ARE THE ASHANTI AND EASTERN REGIONS, SO THEY JUST GIVE NPP. BELIEVE ME THEY CAN EVEN RIG THESE TWO REGIONS BUT JUST CONSIDER TO GIVE TO NPP. THEY HAVE STUDIED CAREFULLY THAT NPP ARE VERY DISCIPLINE AND ALSO SOFT SO THEY CAN DO WHATEVER THEY LIKE TO THEM.

Nana is a tribal warlord. Y3n akanfuor divisive statement only brings out what he has in his heart. From the abundant of the heart, the mouth speaketh.
Lather, his MP called for the killing of tribes because he has received a false message from another tribal fool from Ododiodoo. What did Nana do about that? Nothing. The MP was still on his campaign trail with no apology whatsoever. Another NPP lady called people from the North cattleherds and nothing was done.
I WILL BE A DEAD FOOL AND AN UNINTELLIGENT SLAVE WITH NO PRIDE TO VOTE FOR NANA. I'll rather die under a tyrant than to allow such a divisive tribal person to rule over me. Nonsense.

Yaa that is your opinion. But lets be frank, your hatred has nothing to do with "Y3n akanfor" remark nor foolish statements made by people in his party. Yours is plain hatred for the man and nothing else. Why do i say this? Becasue Mahama made a similar statement in the North that "we northeners are tired of the vice president role", he further went on to ask them to vote for him because he's "one of them". The reason why you can overlook Mahama's statement but accuse Nana Addo is because most people including you have been swept of you feet by Mahama communication skills and flare which unfortunately does not translate to effective leadership and governance. We can all point to stupid remarks made by members of both parties which have not been punished by flag bearers. Fifi Kwetey said there is no way a northerner would ever become president. Today we have a northner as president, should Fifi be punished for that?
You cannot punish a flag bearer for every lose talk some MPs in his party may make. If that was the case, then Mahama should be punished for the sins of his ministers.
It's a shame you would rather have a tyrant rule over you, however, i would rather have a competent and visionary leader than a tyrant. We are quick to judge those we hate and and that is exactly what you are doing.
I did not vote for Nana Addo but presently, i see him as the one person who can significantly reduce corruption and put in place an effective Govt to move this country forward. Divisive tribal person? I don't think so, that is what his detractors have tried to potray him to be.

Apraku should not express amazement of the funny, stupid and irresponsible actions and reactions from the NPP ranks when they disagree with others' views in this our political life.
Again Apraku should not be an hypocrate who wants to tell Ghanaians that he is not aware that the NPP behavior is a typical character of the average Ashantes' minds, which always go against people who have different views of the subject matter in question.
My quotation will help Apraku to see how fake, stupid and hypocrate he is despite he claimed to have taught marketing in a higher institution in relation to certain comments he made in his remarks with the OKAY FM.
And I quote ''that it appears truth has been subdued within the NPP, so anytime stalwarts of the party touched on the subject, some unscrupulous persons were ready to attack''.
This Apraku man should know and understand that most Ghanaians have been watching the typical behavior and character of the NPP, and in reality it is a very similar general character of Ashanti people which generally depict them as uncivilized community that finds it difficult to intergrate into other cultures.
They always say they live with other communities-tribes in Ashanti region, but does not mean intergration if you fail to share and take ideas from others freely. Principally an Ashanti feels inferiority complex when his views are not good/correct and therefore not accepted.
This has made them to behave strangely many times whenever they are involved in national issues of importance, an example; politics- the science and art of managing a nation.
Looking back to their behavior in the NPP, it has affected the behavior of others in the NPP as well as in other areas and even in Overseas. Remember their talks on FM stations, how they invoke curse on people and easily reacting like villagers or fishermen without insight of positive life.
One can just remember the attack they levelled against Tarzan and others who are also members of the NPP, even the behavior of K T Hammond in Parliament over drill ship saga, the curses ODIKE rained on KMA Boss and even just most recent of the abuse and the curse that short Ashanti man, Justice Joe Appiah rained on Rawlings, just to mention few. Majority of them really show low mentality in every area you find them.
It is a sad situation that Ashantes find themselves in. I personally believe the refined ones among them should raise the stick and help to bring change and sanity into their style of behavior and character in dealing with others and the handling national things, because Ghana is for all of us and thus any mistake by any community within our nation will surely destroy use all.
The very funniest thing is that these days Ashantis have chosen to curse with a river deity in Ashanti region, another primitive character which had become okey with them in this present day of eye opening world of knowing the true God.

I have supported Nana Addo candidacy on 2 consecutive elections n i have studied votes Kuffuor gathered in 2000 n 2004 elections on the Gt Accra, B.A n Central Regions. I have compared it with Akuffo Addo's 2008 n 2012 elections. For the 3 Northern Regions always the npp votes go up n Dr Bawumia has also been a considerable factor about this upward adjustment. Kuffour won all the two
elections in gt Accra,B.a n Central but Akuffo Addo lost.......WHY???
My simple analysis is that Kuffour appealed to floating voters but Akuffo Addo did not.
Dr Apraku to me has told the untold truth and people should begin to ask questions n bring a new candidate.

Dummy, Nana Addo did not lose the election; it was stolen by the NDC because they are guided by the philosophy that the end justifies the means. It would not make any difference who the NPP selects as its candidate and how many floating voters the candidate can attract. The NDC will still "win" because they have found the perfect recipe for victory, which unfortunately is becoming pervasive across the continent: use government funds and resources to bribe the electorate, rig the polls, force your opponent to court to contest the outcome knowing very well that the court is packed with sympathizers and can bribe the ones who are fledgling and get a majority to uphold the results. The NDC has discovered the elixir for winning elections and the NPP are going to be on the fringes for a long time unless they get street smart and come up with their own creative panacea to counter the NDC juggernaut.

dont Forget jj Rawlingse at that material time had got faith in Atta mills and Atta mills was a blemish Person among the NDC people- nobody was able to accuse ata mills of any fraud , his humbleness won him the dr of peace, that help ndc to win the election because their Chosen candidate was marketable unlike akuffu addo ,all People can say about him is he led a Demonstration- nobody knows where he spent his civil life before jumping into politics, all because his father was the then chief justice- if that be the case then SEKU NKRUMAH the son of the Ghana first prime Minister Kwame nkruma should be called to the presidency uncontested accounting from all that Kwame nkruma did for Ghana and Africa

Politics in Ghana is not about policies.
Ignorance and tribalism have taken centre stage.People don't cast their votes with conscience.
If you genuinely want to address and get solution to the problem, the hate factor which is the norm of most Ghanaians must be eradicated.
If you(Apraku)are a man of dignity, then after being in contact and worked with Nana Addo for such a long time, must know that he is fair but firm, resolute with clear vision. In Nana, what you see is what you get and that's what most Ghanaians hate.
If all what i have described about Nana do not appeal to people, then something is wrong somewhere and Nana can't be blamed for that so please stop your unnecessary attacks on him.
Ghana needs a person of Nana Akufo Addo's calibre to modify our rotten country get behind him.

In any civil and advanced country, NDC would have lost the election one touch based on the magnitude of corruption, mismanagement and mediocrity that emerged during their first four years, but hey, this is Ghana, common sense goes out the window when people are hungry.

Might I also add, that decadent West as goody-two-shoes Africans consider them to be have secular morality that delivers the goods. No way, no how Jose, will such a blatantly corrupt bunch be left anywhere near power. The West can even blame governments for events that are out of their control let alone those caused by them. Simply put - 'if I am not happy, I will at least shop around at least' and they will never put up with Marie Antionette politics of- 'if there is no bread let them eat cake' . British MPs are being given a pay rise by an independent body which is deservingly so but what is happening? All the good and the great from PM and deputy and opposition combined are scared shitless to be seen to supporting it, ask why? If you mess about with a voter who genuinely eats bread and wants to have a taste of your cake, you will share your cake or you will lose it! That is self preservation at its basics that comes natural to all humans but seem to be lying dormant in the African!

We all know the electoral commission is a mess. It needs to be cleaned up. I don't think we have to wait till the last minute. Doc, I believe there is something good in you for the country, it might not necessarily be to become a president. DO SOMETHING NOW! PUSH FOR REFORMS AT THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION. I think the seeming division in the NPP is that most of you are IDLE, waiting to come to power to do something. NO! Dr Apraku, Dr Arthur Kennedy, Mr Osafo Marfo, Dr Tamaklo, Mr Alan K, Dr Richard Anane...and all you great and well respected personalities in NPP, its not all about talking and writing articles. Do something now, THE COUNTRY IS SINKING. COME OUT WITH IDEAS AND PUSH FOR REFORMS AT THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION. DON'T WAIT TILL THE LAST MINUTE. I THINK REFORMS AT THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION SHOULD BE A GOOD STARTING POINT. WHICH WAY ARE WE GOING???? Is Ghana ripe for exit polls or due to its own challenges, it might cause more chaos??? They say small brains discuss people, medium brains discuss events, BIG BRAINS DISCUSS IDEAS. Don't focus only on NPP, think about Ghana and come out with ideas for transforming the EC. The system must be in place and tested AT LEAST 18 clear months before the 2016 elections. THE TIME FOR BICKERING, BACK-BITING, STABBING IN THE BACK and the like must be over.
LETS GO TO WORK, LETS COME OUT WITH IDEAS AND PUSH FOR REFORMS AT THE EC.

Mali at first glance seems a most unlikely place for the NATO powers, led by a neo-colonialist French government of Socialist President Francois Hollande (and quietly backed to the hilt by the Obama Administration), to launch what is being called by some a new Thirty Years’ War Against Terrorism.
Mali, with a population of some 12 million, and a landmass three and a half times the size of Germany, is a land-locked largely Saharan Desert country in the center of western Africa, bordered by Algeria to its north, Mauritania to its west, Senegal, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Niger to its southern part. People I know who have spent time there before the recent US-led efforts at destabilization called it one of the most peaceful and beautiful places on earth, the home of Timbuktu. Its people are some ninety percent Muslim of varying persuasions. It has a rural subsistence agriculture and adult illiteracy of nearly 50%. Yet this country is suddenly the center of a new global “war on terror.”
On January 20 Britain’s Prime Minister David Cameron announced his country’s curious resolve to dedicate itself to deal with “the terrorism threat” in Mali and north Africa. Cameron declared, “It will require a response that is about years, even decades, rather than months, and it requires a response that…has an absolutely iron resolve…” [1] Britain in its colonial heyday never had a stake in Mali. Until it won independence in 1960, Mali was a French colony.
On January 11, after more than a year of behind-the-scenes pressure on the neighboring Algeria to get them entangled in an invasion of its neighbor Mali, Hollande decided to make a direct French military intervention with US backing. His government launched air strikes in the rebel-held north of Mali against a fanatical Salafist band of jihadist cutthroats calling itself Al-Qaeda in the Islamic-Mahgreb (AQIM). The pretext for the seemingly swift French action was a military move by a tiny group of Islamic Jihadists of the Tuareg people, Asnar Dine, affiliated with the larger AQIM. On January 10 Asnar Dine – backed by other Islamist groups – attacked the southern town of Konna. That marked the first time since the Tuareg rebellion in early 2012 that Jihadist rebels moved out of traditional Tuareg territory in the northern desert to spread Islamic law to the south of Mali.
As French journalist Thierry Meyssan noted, French forces were remarkably well prepared: “The transitional President, Dioncounda Traore, declared a state of emergency and called to France for help. Paris intervened within hours to prevent the fall of the capital, Bamako. Far-sightedly, the Elysée had already pre-positioned in Mali troops from the 1st Marine Infantry Parachute Regiment (“the Colonials”) and the 13th Parachute Dragoon Regiment, helicopters from the COS (Special Operations Command), three Mirage 2000D’s, two Mirage F-1’s, three C135’s, a C130 Hercules and a C160 Transall.” [2] What a convenient coincidence.
By January 21 US Air Force transport planes began delivering hundreds of French elite soldiers and military equipment to Mali, ostensibly to roll back what we were told was an out-of-control terrorist advance south towards the Mali capital. [3] French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian told media the number of its ‘boots on the ground’ in Mali had reached 2,000, adding that “around 4,000 troops will be mobilized for this operation,” in Mali and outside bases. [4]
But there are strong indications the French agenda in Mali is anything but humanitarian. In a France 5 TV interview, Le Drian carelessly admitted, “The goal is the total reconquest of Mali. We will not leave any pockets.” And President Francois Hollande said French troops would remain in the region long enough “to defeat terrorism.” The United States, Canada, Britain, Belgium, Germany and Denmark have all said they would support the French operation against Mali. [5]
Mali itself, like much of Africa is rich in raw materials. It has large reserves of gold, uranium and most recently, though western oil companies try to hide it, of oil, lots of oil. The French preferred to ignore Mali’s vast resources, keeping it a poor subsistence agriculture country. Under the deposed democratically-elected President Amadou Toumani Toure, for the first time the government initiated a systematic mapping of the vast wealth under its soil. According to Mamadou Igor Diarra, previous mining minister, Malian soil contains copper, uranium, phosphate, bauxite, gems and in particular, a large percentage of gold in addition to oil and gas. Thus, Mali is one of the countries in the world with the most raw materials. With its gold mining, the country is already one of the leading exploiters directly behind South Africa and Ghana. [6] Two thirds of France’s electricity is from nuclear power and sources of new uranium are essential. Presently, France draws significant uranium imports from neighboring Niger.
Now the picture gets a little complex.
According to usually reliable former US military experts with direct familiarity with the region, speaking on condition of anonymity, US and NATO Special Forces actually trained the same “terrorist” bands now justifying a neo-colonial US-backed invasion of Mali by France. The major question is why would Washington and Paris train the terrorists they are now acting to destroy in a “war on terror?” Were they really surprised at the lack of NATO loyalty from their trainees? And what is behind AFRICOM’s American-backed French takeover of Mali?

Dr, I respect you a lot but i think your submission is heavily flawed, wrong and statistically inaccurate. Do you have the statistical data or evidence to support your argument? If not for any personal idiosyncrasy you may have, YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT NANA WON THE 2012 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS. Just because the SC declared ndc winners of the elections doesn't mean they won the elections, we're all witnesses of the election petition case. There is so much corruption in the judiciary in Ghana. In fact (in a separate example) one of the male judges who sat on the supreme court case was involved in a 1 billion cedi bribe court case and gave a false judgement against the true winner of a case he was handling some time before the 2012 elections. This became a very big issue with serious threats. DR, THE SUPREME COURT DECISION ON THE ELECTION PETITION WAS CORRUPT. VIKILEAKS IS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG. You have presidential ambition, one question i have for you and all npp presidential hopefuls is, what is your vision for the country? One word i can associate nana with is "INDUSTRIALIZATION". The man has vision, The man wants to turn our raw materials into some sort of finished products (even if not finished products, at least add some value to it) before export. This will create massive jobs in the country. SHS is even just about 1% of what he wants to do. This is what the country needs now so if your vision and that of the other presidential hopefuls are not in line with this, just contain your hopes for now AND SUPPORT NANA RATHER THAN TEARING HIM APART. You may have some issues with the party or nana but go about it responsibly. WHAT IS WRONG WITH SOME OF YOU AFRICAN INTELLECTUALS? You allow your personal rather than national interest to lead you. Don't you understand times and seasons? In fact John Mahama is a presidential material BUT IT IS NOT YET HIS TIME AND HE'S FORCED HIMSELF INTO OFFICE, THAT'S WHY HE'S MESSING UP AND AS LONG AS HE REMAINS AT THE PRESIDENCY, GHANA WILL MOVE FROM BAD TO WORSE. HE SHOULD BE GROOMED FOR THE POSITION BUT HE'S NOT. HIS ACTUAL TIME IS SOME YEARS AWAY BUT HE HAS NO PATIENCE.
DR, GHANA NEEDS A VISIONARY LEADER AND NANA FITS IN THAT CATEGORY PERFECTLY SO LETS ALL SUPPORT HIM TO MAKE HIS VISION A REALITY FOR ALL GHANAIANS.

Well, if you want to be objective i will debate you. 2008 defeat was by the slimest of margins, NPP were complecent because they thought following the good social policies they had introduced, they would automatically win the election. That was poor judgement on their part.
Fastforward to 2012, NDC benefited from a lot of sympath votes in 2012 due to the demise of the late president Mills. Mahama benefited from this and took full advantage of the situation and milked it to the max plus the wantom spread of cash, cars etc during the campaign period gave Mahama the edge. Ghanaians where drunk with sympathy, Mahama's swagger and "e dey be k3k3" slogan. Very few cared about policies and vision at the time.
Nana Addo has suffered from a lot of bad publicity, character assaination and smear campain from his opponents and most Ghanaians especially the uneducated masses fall easily for these tactics. As i always say, if Obama could win US presidential elections in a country that was once home to the KKK, then there is hope for Nana. Everything is possible.

Bro, reading your comment says a lot about how the african and Ghanaian for that matter thinks. First of all, you need to understand there is a difference between NPP members and supporters. The members i agree would not have voted on sympathy lines for Mahama, but some supporters especially those not fully affliated to any particular party would have.
In 2008, despite the many social interventions, K4 took a number of decision in his last few months that annoyed a lot of voters, eg the sudden reduction in fuel prices which the late Mills used effectively to campaign against the NPP. K4 also made governance look easy so most Ghanaians did not appreciate where the NPP had got us to as a nation and though anyone could do the same or better.
Nana Addo has not done any disservice to the party and did not take the party to opposition. Ghanaians took the NPP into opposition because they thought NPP was corrupt and wanted a change, moreover they saw Mills as less corrupt and thought he could do better. .
Nana is not arrogant nor is he aggressive. He is just a plain no nonsense old man with a short man syndrom. He hates people who cheat and will protect his corner any day. Unfortunately Ghanaians see that as aggresive and arrogant.
I'll refer to Obama again to help you understand the difference between the Americans and Ghanaians. Not all Americans who voted for Obama like the man, but they looked beyond their dislike for him as a blackman and decided to give him a try to save their country and for better opportunities. That is political maturity. That is not the case in Ghana. When a Ghanaian does not like you, they block their ears and eyes to any good policies or positive characteristcs one may have and dwell on the negative ones.
Alan Kyremateng may stand a better chance not because he would be better than Nana Addo but some would just vote for him because he is tall and handsome even though he may not be competent or a good president, damn the consequence. That is how fickle some Ghanaians are. Yet we wonder why we are under developed and struggle to progress.
Nana is not NPP's problem, the party should look within themselves, stop undermining each other and work together. To win 2016, NPP must work with the smaller parties to unseat the NDC or else.....

A 'sympathy' vote Nana after all his trials aznd tribulations. But can voters really forgive arrogant posture of "parasites" like Gabby Asare Otchere Darko and other errant clan members? I really do not think so! Take the case of their own backyard of Kyebi and other key areas in Akyem Abuakwa, where the "mmbrowa" ,who have been treated with disdain, have consistently denied them the landslide victories, recorded in Ashanti& Volta regions respectively, and needed to win Presidential elections!

Kuffour was and is still a calm personality, very gentle and tolerant and ready to give for something to be achieved. He was ready in 1996 to run as vice to Arkaah if only that would guarantee victory. Kuffour's disposition is similar to that of Obamah, he can stomach a lot without giving back insults. He was just very gentle. He accepted defeat in 1996 unconditionally even when there was allegations of rigging. No body made Kuffour up, gentleness of spirit is in his genes. He was not called the Gentle Giant for nothing. Take Mills also, he was also gentle and earned the name Asumwdwehen for conceeding defeat unconditionally in 2000 and again in 2004 against the stance of NDC supporters amidst allegations of fraud. Can we say the same for Nana Addo? I doubt it. Kuffour was scandalised by Nana and his followers in 2008, when he refused to go with them in their refusal to concede defeat up to mid-day of Dec 8 2008. And only when the mischief hatched by his kinsman Atta Kyea was thrown out of court. The experience of 2013 is too fresh to recount. So any politician who brings the country to the precipice of war will have a hard time appealing to floating voters. Maybe there is some one that will emmerge from the NPP in future, but for now the leopard will find it difficult to change its spots.

It is true. I believe someone like Allan can attract floating voters. There is also a fundamental issue which the party should address. This is the Volta question. The Volta region has always been the nemesis of the NPP in all elections since Victor Owusu made that irresponsible, impulsive and unnecessary remark about Ewes decades ago. It looks like our Ewe brethren have not forgiven the NPP. I think the next flag bearer of the party should apologize publicly to the Ewes on his next campaign trip to the region. The Ewe's might not like what is going on but they would prefer to vote for the NDC until an apology is rendered. They consider the NDC the lesser evil. There are a lot of moderate and educated Ewes who will be willing to forgive the NPP and vote for the party upon an apology. The party should be humble enough to do that. Ghana is greater than any individual or party.

Apology for what? SO if NPP have incompetent people but apologise to Ewes, you mean ewes would vote for them to come and destroy the country? Are you for real? Did the people who abused Nelson Mandela ever apoligise to him? No! Yet he was able to forgive and work with them. That is what sets him apart from others and made him a great man.
So if Ewes will sit back and vote for incompetent people to mismanage the country due to some evil or disrespect they believe was done to them many years ago by someone, then what does that say about Ewes? Please don't come and say things that not all Ewes will support.

This is the plain truth! Nana should step down so the party can move on to better and prosperous things. Nana does not appeal to the nation as a leader because of his utterances, incitements and the people he surrounded himself with. The 2012 voting petition to drag the nation back 8 months to deny the country means to nation building puts the last nail to the coffin. He has hurt the party and continue to do so. I urge Nana to do what George Bush of N1 fame did. To gracefully and quietly exit the political field and find solace somewhere he can write his memoir.

Dr Apraku's analysis is not entirely right. A careful look at the 2008 and 2012 elections showed Akufo Addo was rejected by the NPP. In both elections NPP's parliamentary candidates collectively had more votes than him.
In 2008 for example he led in the 1st round with 49.7% needing just 0.3% to win. But in the 2nd round, most NPP voters failed to turn up making it possible for Mills to win.
NPP under Akufo Addo has become intollerant and autocratic. This was why Akufo Addo succeeded in muting all thinking within the party for all of them to agree that they actually won the election but were cheated.

Floating voter,!! Who are they?? Where are they?? What do they do?? What are their principles concerning nation building? What ideologies do they subscribe to? I believe if they are real and right thinking they would have shown up long ago. Or are they the people who goes round cup in hand chasing people who run for office for them to dole out money to them? Surely such people are plenty, and some politicians will not dole out money to them. I believe Akuffo-Addo is one such person who will not just dole out money to such people without principles. Or are they those who have so much corrupt practices hanging around them, that they are afraid of being exposed when a person who wants to fight corruption comes to the scene? It's undeniable, many sells their conscience, and their votes for pittance, and vote the wrong person, only to cry the next day. If Apraku really said this, then it's unfortunate. In the first place if a person does not appeal to his or her own party followers, how do you expect outsiders to follow? This line of attack on Akuffo-Addo is old and stale and will not amount to anything. So also is age accusation moribund. If Nelson Mandela afters serving 27 years in prison, and released at the age of 71 yrs could become a very effective leader the world love, then those with that line have no issue. Flawed as the process of electing leaders of the party is as of now, we all have to live with it in decorum, until a time that all carrying members of the party in good standing can be part of the process. So people who do not have a good chance of being elected should desist from casting aspersions.

Does the NPP strategy team have it's pulse on the thought processes of the floating voters? Does the NPP strategy team have a clue about who the floating voters are? Does the NPP team have a data base of these floating voters? Does the NPP team have a means of determining what influences the decisions of the floating voters on voting day? Does the NPP team have a means of testing if the floating voters have already made up their mind on a particular candidate and what influenced that decision? What is the target message for the floating voters? Are the floating voters buying into this message? What are the ways or means of assessing this? With respect to the candidature of Akufo Addo, what are the opinions of the floating voters? How do they perceive the candidature of Akufo Addo in 2016? What percentage of these floating voters in the midst of the NPP itself, think Akufo Addo is the right candidate for 2016? What message is influencing this line of thinking? What attributes does Akufo Addo bring to the table which is new and as such, should engage the floating voter to decide to give him another chance? And is this message being sent across? What about the other candidates? What makes them more appealing to floating voters and therefore much more suited for the NPP as a presidential candidate? These and other parameters should influence who eventually wins the elections on the ticket of the NPP for Ghanaians, to address the myriad of problems confronting the country.

Nana Addo only seems to crave the adulation of his supporters within the NPP especially those living abroad. He and other leaders still don't get it.Floating voters especially non Ashanti ones will be the ones likely to swing the election in favour of the NPP. Unfortunately as things stand it doesn't take a mathematician to see that the NPP has no broad based appeal in Ghana and therefore has no hope of winning the 2016 elections. It is still a largely Ashanti Party .The activities of ultra Ashanti nationalist like Ken Agyepong has been especially very harmful to the fortunes of the NPP.

The NPP party if anything, has the biggest broad based appeal in Ghana and it was on the basis of this very fact, which saw the election of Kufuor and led to the transformation of Ghana within a mind blowing period of just 8 years, clearly unprecedented in the history of contemporary Ghanaian politics. The propaganda fueled activities of the grossly unfit NDC gov't has been and continues to be the bane of Ghana's socio-economic development and growth. Granted that, there have been a few glitches here and there from opinion leaders who should have known better, the NPP party holds the key to the unraveling of the quagmire of retrogression that the P(NDC) party plunged the nation, continues to plunge the nation and would continue to plunge the nation if they are not voted out of power. The key is the ability to deal with the issues of propaganda and the electoral manipulations of the NDC, and not the NPP party, being a largely Ashanti party. That position is as flawed as Rawlings saying he's the high priest of anti-corruption.
Floating voters are just non Ashantis, they cut across tribal lines and the ability to identify what inherently influences their choices, leading to targeted message delivery, would be a plus for the NPP, and not the rather myopic boxed logic of an Ashanti party NDC fueled propaganda, lacking any facts and any analysis.
