Lying politicians. If its designated forest, leave it alone for the forestry officials to manage. You follow the change of designation initiated by the K4 group and sell it to your cronies to develop it into a theme park. If its not true, show us the contracts you have signed with the private companies and stop insulting our intelligence.

Where will be the forest after all these interventions- ecolodge, religious enclaves, cultural village, etc... ? I can understand planed path or "walks" through the forest, but for heaven's sake leave the forest alone.

Reclaim the forest, sack all the noise makers from there, replant the trees and leave the Achimota forest alone. This is a red herring. Just leave it alone!

As a native son of Achimota, having been born and bred in Abofu I read with utter shock the news item about our dreaded but cherished forest. So much for all the good intentions of the government to develop the only piece of land left for which the people of Abofu can preserve for posterity. Nothing in the sector minister's announcement touched on the involvement of the traditional owners of the forest in the so called development proposals. The people of Accra and for that matter Ga's have lost tremendous precious land to the central government of Ghana in the name of development. No other ethnic group or tribe can claim to have made a comparable sacrifice to mother Ghana. Part of the problem is our(Ga's) own making. It really hurts to think about it. In this instance the people of Abofu have been left out in the equation, at least at this point in the discussion about the fate of the Achimota forest. At this point it is a fact that my grand kids will not have the luxury of hearing the scary stories we were told about the forest, let alone will they experience entering the forest to pick wild berries and snails during the rainy season. We the people of Abofu have respectfully and duly contributed our share to the plunder of Ga land towards the development of Ghana. Please leave the forest alone for the sake of peace for the Abofu people. Alternatively , don't leave the Abofu people out in the development and management of the future state of the forest. We, the youth of Abofu are watching. Asem be ba Dabi. I am just saying.
