..first ghana has qualified for the WC and it's a good thing... however, it seems there was something wrong with the game although it's understandable that by a 6-1 first leg win, what the winning team has to do is simply destroy the second through unorthodox play. despite this, it was clear to see that the display shown by the black stars today was not about tactics, but rather the ineptness of the trainer. a good team would have smashed the black stars today. dauda was bad, bad, and the defence was simply rotten, and there was no link between the players. you could smell their arrogance because they no they can do whatever they like without the trainer having a say. better bring in some tactical people before GHANA, a nation freed from white oppression by NKRUMAH, GIVEN STABILITY BY RAWLINGS is pounded next year in brazil

I just hate the fact that people come here to make it like Ghana is in competition with Nigeria. Some even are making it to look like we were against them for qualifying to be in Brazil. That is silly. We are not. If anything at all, we were hoping that Burkina Faso would have qualified to make a West African affairs.
When it comes to soccer, whether it is only Ghana, or Nigeria or Cameroon or any other African country, the whole Continent, including our Arab brothers come together to support the African team.
Last time, when Ghana was left alone in the world cup, we saw the South African with their vuvuzelas supporting Ghana. Our Nigeria brothers and sisters were always on T.V cheering for Ghana. A Kenyan girl went to a Ghanaian shop to buy a Ghanaian flag and put it on her car. That is what it is and that is why I want you not to engage in idiocy.
Who does not know that Nigeria had qualified for the world cup. And does it make it different when and where they qualified? This miser with inferiority complex comes here and indulge in Asante and Ewe stupidity that goes on here. Do you think any sensible Nigerian would even think of coming here to do that?
So don't give him the platform to make such silly comments; we are not against our Nigeria brothers and sister and if only he is a 9ja person and not some a Ghanaian loser who is trying his damndest to seek attention here.

AA SAID "THE BEST WAY TO DEFEND IS TO ATTACK". THIS IS WRONG. I DONT KNOW IF HE WAS BEING SARCASTIC/ME BOAPA AS U SAY IN TWI, BUT HE IS WRONG.
THE BEST WAY TO ATTACK IS TO DEFEND.
THE TEAMS WITH THE BEST DEFENCES WIN TROPHIES. TEAMS THAT CONCEEDE LESS IN TOURNAMNTS WIN THE TROPHY. E.G..U17 NAIJA TEAM HAD A VERY GOOD DEFENCE.
U20 WCUP WINNERS FRANCE CONCEEDED THE LEAST GOALS IN THE TOURNEY. NAIJA WON THE AFCON BCOS OF THEIR DEFENCE. CAMEROON N EGYPT WON THEIR AFCON TROPHIES BCOS OF THEIR DEFENCE.
DUMMY, DO U SEE THE CORRELATION? LOOK AT MOURINHO? LOOK AT ANCELOTTI. FERGUSON IS A PRIMARILY OFFENSIVE MINDED COACH. DID HE WIN A UEFA TROPHY? YET, U HAVE TH NERVE TO CALL ME STUPID.
The best way to defend is to attack, is often what is said by experts and yet in big matches as was the case under Fergie, and now Moyes, we have had to adapt to counter threats offered by the
opposition, instead of the opposition altering their play to counter us.

A married Nigerian woman is having an affair. Whenever her Ghanaian lover comes over, she puts her nine year old son in the closet. One day the woman hears a car in the driveway and puts her lover in the closet, as well.
Inside the closet, the little boy says, "It's dark in here, isn't it?
"Yes it is," the man replies.
"You wanna buy a foot ball?" the little boy asks.
"No thanks," the man replies.
"I think you do want to buy a foot ball," the little extortionist continues.
"OK. How much?" the man replies after considering the position he is in.
"Twenty-five Naira," the little boy replies.
"TWENTY-FIVE Naira?!" the man repeats incredulously, but complies to protect his hidden position.
The following week, the lover is visiting the woman again when she hears a car in the driveway and, again, places her lover in the closet with her little boy.
"It's dark in here, isn't it?" the boy starts off.
"Yes it is," replies the man.
"Wanna buy a football glove?" the little boy asks.
"OK. How much?" the hiding lover responds, acknowledging his disadvantage.
"Fifty Naira," the boy replies and the transaction is completed. The next weekend, the little boy's father says, "Hey, son. Go get your foot ball and glove and we'll play some catch."
"I can't. I sold them," replies the little boy.
"How much did you get for them?" asks the father, expecting to hear the profit in terms of lizards and candy.
"Seventy-five Naira," the little boy says.
"SEVENTY-FIVE Naira?! That's thievery! I'm taking you to the church right now. You must confess your sin and ask for forgiveness, the father explains as he hauls the child away.
At the church, the little boy goes into the confessional, draws the curtain, sits down, and says "It's dark in here, isn't it?"
"Don't you start that crap in here now," the Ghanaian priest says.

Why praise yourself when your game only happened to be played before other games?
It's just like another stupid guy saying Zambia kept the African Cup for the shortest length of time.
Why blame Zambia when CAF was the one that made the decision to re-schedule the Afcon competition?
No-one was competing in this knockout round who would qualify first, so zip it.

The reality is that Ghana really did not really play hard today and if they would have pushed at the end, we would have tied it up 2-2. We backed off on about three counter attacks towards the end of the game. It is uncomfortable to watch but this is what happens when we have the playoff system. If one team has a good lead they can be a bit non-chalant in the second game. This is why playoffs should not be a part of WC qualifying. Groups or a table is needed. This was really more of a training exercise. One thing we know is that we need Boye, Vorsah and Mensah.

I dont think your suggestion of groups or tables will make any difference. In fact,it will make it worse. If a team gets a good start, they can accumulate enough points to make the last few games pointless (as we see in the champions league). The only reason why this game was a training exercise was because of the commanding lead we took in the first game, which is an anomaly. All the other (African) playoff matches were tight after the first leg, and the second legs were really exciting (Ivory coast v senegal, cameroon/tunisia etc)

Thank You Vice Ressien for saying it as it is. I just don't know what is wrong with this BS team. Is it arrogance or tactical bankcrupcy?
you can never bet on this team for three consecutive matches without being disgraced and yet we call ourselves one of the best.
You can bet on a brand name like Brazil and go to sleep knowing very well that the job would be done by the time you wake up. Supporting Ghana Black Stars is too frustrating, win today lose tomorrow is the order of the day. There was no reason for the BS to lose today's game if we really mean to have an impact in Brazil. If we are unable to dismiss this Egyptian team at ease, then tell me how are we going to stand teams like Germany, Spain and Brazil.
Nigeria drew 2-2 with Italy last night and this is what I call determination. By being ruthless in every game be it friendly or competitive, the Black Stars name becomes branded, and people can bet on it and go to sleep.
I have almost purchased my ticket for Brazil but today's match in Cairo has really set me thinking otherwise. I really hate to support a team you can not trust to deliver. I also think its about time Kwesi Appiah has faith in Adam Kwarasey. We have seen all Fatau Dawda has to offer. Its the time for Adam to show us what he got.

I wonder why such a superb player feared by all the leading clubs around the world must sit at the bench throught the game till last minute before summoning him to play. Kevin would have scored three or four goals had he started. Our brains need to be refurbished. We always think backwards and scramble to rectify our mistakes when things are really gone bad. This is true in political decisions, project thinking, education, even in ordinary social thinking our policy makers stumble in in minds to do the reasonable. the most unfortunate part is we hail the idiocy and sink with it till the depths become unbearable. We may not be lucky at all times to have the likes of Prince Boateng to seal our fates for us.

Thanks Chairman Nyantakyi and Coach Appiah who understood and and believed him, he has proved his undying love and loyalty to the nation. POW@appiah and his lepatata Mambu bunch have all disappeared. They know the reason why they can't come back here. When we needed someone to soothe our fears, it was KPB who came to our rescue. KPB, Muntari, Essien, Gyan should have started the game to give us a goal or two before changing them and bringing in others to finish. But I trusted AA to do his own superb job.
Like I have been saying here, it is only African, because of idiocy and backward mentality that keep their best talents out of everything that bring glory to the Nation. Messi has not done 1/10th of what he does for Barca for his country in international matches, but it would be unconscionable to hear of any Argentinian asking that he, Messi should be excluded from the WC Squad.
Now let the against eat their heart out. If they are still crying because KPB played and scored a goal, I can send them handkerchiefs and tissue papers to wipe up their tears, and some comforters (as someone suggested) to cover their pyretic bodies.

To say KPB "came to our rescue" is false, cos we scored 6 goals against the SAME team without KPB!
I am not crying.... I will support KPB because the coach has included him in the team, and I support the team wholeheartedly, however, if you are trying to say KPB is our saviour because he scored 1 goal, then I have to point out to you that we scored 6 without him.......and have been scoring all the way to the brink of qualification without him.

What I said was " When we needed someone to SOOTHE OUR FEARS (emphasis here for you), it was KPB who came to our rescue." Next time, you want to quote someone, make sure you quote from where the sentence began and not where the comma started." If you still want to start from the middle of the sentence, make sure you put periods in front of your quote to indicate that something was said before your quote. There is no way you can analysis "came to our rescue" without thinking of "to soothe our fears."
I am not here teaching English Language, which I myself fall short, but it is becoming a headache here to have a decent intellectual discourse. Just imagine some thinking that I am comparing KPB to Messi just because I made mentioned of Messi.
Whether you guys like it or not, unless KPB is on his deathbed, (and may God forbid) we are taking him to Brazil. That is the point I want to make.

I quite remembered when he did not want Essien and Drogba to come and play in AFCON. While Drogba snubbed him, Essien listened to his "papa." and did not show up. During the last world cup, it was Mourinho who denied us of Essien. But we forgave him and welcome him this year.

Anyone who is needed in the team would be called to come and help. And AA believes that KPB is needed. There is nothing you can do about it, so stop being negative and join the hopeful train from Accra to Brazil. If you refused, you would be dropped at fawomusuoko Station near Amasaman so that they can bury your thoughts there. How about that?
Btw, I am still finding it difficult to read your submissions here because of block letters. Bro, I have told you that, it is rude according netiguette and also very hard to read something written in block letters. But the fact is, there were no fears to soothe.......(multiple fullstops just for you bro!). With a 6-1 lead, and Egypt only having 2 goals with some 15 minutes to go, and Egypt not particularly looking like they were going to score or putting us under the kind of concerted pressure that a team like say, Man U would have done if they were chasing a game, I had no fears, and neither did the majority of people on here judging by the comments.
Nobody is disputing the fact that KPB is going to Brazil.......(ooooh, more fullstops for you, enjoy!) that is the decision the coach has made, and neither I nor any armchair coach can change that. And sure, he is a great player and his time will come where he will change a game for the good of Ghana, and where a game will be turned by the goal or goals he scores but today was not it. As soon as he scored, I knew people like you would be on here singing "he is the best"(or similar) (it appears Slim has been less predictable), but if you stop looking at the world through your KPB tinted glasses, you will realise that the Black Stars team today was no better nor worse for the introduction of KPB.

I5 minutes to go? Do you think that was when we were yearning for a striker to put in at least a goal for us to soothe our hearts? Obviously, you have never been a die-hard supporter of any team. And moreover, we still wanted to show our superiority in this game and shame those of you who have lambasted AA since he took up this job.
Oh, lest I forget, KPB has been excused from playing any friendship games before the world cup. I just want you and your Anti-KVP to know this. However, the ever-wise coach will still take him to Brazil. How about that?

Egypt needs to put pressure to expect to win which they are doing naturally. ONLY we NEED to play our game. You can see our people are jittery because of the pressure on them which is psychologically bad. They're losing all the balls to they Egyptians.

World Cup 2014: Ghana make it through to Brazil
Ghana have made it through to next year's World Cup finals in Brazil, despite losing 2-1 to Egypt in the second leg of their play-off.
The Back Stars booked their place at a third successive finals thanks to a 6-1 victory in the first leg last month which helped them win 7-3 on aggregate.
Amr Zaki bundled home after 25 minutes to give Egypt faint hope In Cairo and Gedo rifled in a second late on.
But Kevin-Prince Boateng struck from close in to give Ghana the last word.

Ghanaians, Ghanaians, Ghanaians, aba, before this game, the aim of the whole nation was to make sure we qualify for Brazil 2014. We have eliminated the 7 times African Champions 7-2 on aggregate and yet my people are still not happy. Do any of you guys know first hand what it is like playing in front of a hostile, veciforous crowd after humiliating them 6-1 in the first leg? No, you dont have the slightest clue. This is how the script was written from the onset, soak up a lot of pressure from disgraced Egypt and get a goal if we could. We scored that all important goal, well they got two of their own, so what? Who is going to Brazil? Put these two games into proper perspective and be joyful, dont be mourners all the time. Come on

As for Dauda, for those who thinks he's a good keeper, open your damn eyes. He's a disaster waiting to happen. How can he be our 1st choice but not have any game time at his club? it simply doesn't happen. When you look at keepers around the world, do you see any of them come out for every cross? You come out when needed to but majority of the time you allow the defenders to do the job. Egypt's goal was a joke, what kind of gk coaches to we have in ghana. he's been doing this in every match now. If he stays in the lineup by the time we're in Brazil, we'll be lucky to come out the group stages. Fans would football sense will like to see a change!

He could have stopped the ball that led to the first goal in mid-air before the Egyptians made contact with the ball. I'm not confident about using him at the world cup, width span will be a huge factor at that stage. The issue of goal keeping is still very relevant in the Ghana set up and we need to fix it now. May be AA should start rotating them in our trial games. Kwarasey seem to have made some progress. How about a Ghana world tour GFA?

Kwesi appiah stop the tribalism and bring Vorsah to secure our defense which looks so porous and pathetic during today's match with Egypt. The reason we were scored was because we lacked the taller, stronger vorsah to head the first goal away and to use his quick long legs to prevent the second goal. Can't you see we have pigmies as defenders ,so all we are saying bring back vorsah, not later but now .
Kofi 10 years ago
Despite I totally agree that our defense will be much safer and more secured with Vorsah at the back, I beg o differ that Kwesi appi made the decision to drop vorsah due to tribalism.

There are no laws in the game that forbid laser lights in stadiums, but that's a "desperate Egypt" fair play for you. We knew they would come with all kinds of tricks up their sleeves. I think our players went into the game with the right attitude. They were never drawn into any of the drama and successfully carried out the plan of the day. I believe we could have won the game if we wanted to however we needed the ticket to Brazil and we got it.

Congratulations Black Stars, Kwasi Appiah and the entire management team for qualifying for the World Cup.
Special congratulations to Kwasi Appiah for being the first Ghanaian to lead the Black Stars to World Cup qualification.
The loss to Egypt shows we still have a lot of work to do before next June. GFA must arrange friendlies immediately to help the team prepare. The programme must be agreed with Kwasi Appiah. It must cover the period leading up to the World Cup. We must also look at arrangements for the World Cup itself, to ensure the players have the peace of mind to concentrate on the tournament.
Appiah must select the core of his squad now, but leave room for a few players who may emerge between now and next June.
i would expect the squad to include:
Goalkeepers - Dauda, Kwarasey, Agyei
Defenders - Jonathan Mensah, Akaminko, Afful,Opare, Sumaila, Lee Addy,John Boye, Inkoom

If Fatau Dauda is our No.1 keeper, then we don't have a goalkeeper. You don't go to a World Cup tournament with a keeper who makes such costly mistakes-he jumps, just to "touch" the ball, leave it to drop right in the penalty box and doesn't make any effort to get the ball back. That mistake led to the first goal (against us). He did the same thing again but we were just lucky that a defender cleared the ball from the goal line. At a point in time, he was "undecided" as to whether to move forward or stay on the goal line. He made some savings, though but those savings were just what he was supposed to do: "goalkeeping".

Congrats boys, I am happy that you have proved the critics wrong, especially coach Akwasi Appiah and Maxwell Konadu. Some jealous people wished you had failed out of hatred due to tribalism, politics etc. But he who Jah blesses, no one curses!
By the way, whoever thought of designing shirts with the portrait of the John Mahama embossed in front for the supporters to use during the game is a disgrace to Ghana.
This is nothing, but just pure politics, idol worshipping, sycophancy, bootlicking, backward, outmoded, attention seeking etc.
How could anyone have such a stupid idea??
Did Mahama foot any bill of the national tem from his pocket?
He is rather stealing from the nation and mismanaging our resources for the gain of only his family and friends.
Just look at how his brother's company has collapsed the Merchant bank and now being sold to Mahama's cronies in a form of fronting for a foreign company.
God bless Ghana.

GHANA 0: EGYPT 2
Got the ticket to Brazil, now get the h#ll out of Egypt so we can start the party. Well done boys, and coach.
Truely he has cemented his place now in the squad.
Thanks to Kwasi Appiah and his men. The coach has done a marvelous job. With the score line, nothing will prevent Ghana from going to Brazil.
Are u watch it the miracle? nd what time now....from Samms!....
GHANA IS THROUGH TO BRAZIL
For a job well done, lads :)))
Well done boys! thank you all for making Ghana proud.
Those who were doubting the coach's ability, should bow their head in shame. His name will be etched in history as the first Ghanaian coach to lead the Black Stars to the World Cup. Shame on those who were against his coach ...

AYEEKO ......CONGRATULATIONS......BLACK STAR SHINES ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We qualified alright, but we need a good, dependable Goalkeeper who can stand the heat in Brazil.
Fatau Dauda had proved that he is capable of manning the post for the national team. Why the need for a good goalkeeper and how do you classify Fatau? Can you be that brave and good as he did?
We have one already and I don't understand why this inactive Fatau guy is still our first choice keeper as against Kwarasey. Even in mere South Africa, he can't get a playing time and we think he's better than someone who has ...

This ghana team is fucken paa. Bad coaching to add to it. We won't get far in Brazil, not with that defence and goalkeeper. It is also sad that we still depend on Asamoah Gyan to lead the attack.
We need a new coach
You are the Alpha and Omega when it comes to soccer so, recommend a good coach for the national team before Brazil.
Go bring your mom
Did you see any tactical play from the team... No cohesion
MORONIC IMBECILE, WHERE ARE YOU?
HE MAY HAVE A BAD 'CHARACTER'IN THE EYES OF SOME GHANAIANS BUT HE KNOWS HIS FOOTBALL FIELD VERY WELL
Yes,let the loose-mouths in Ghana learn a lesson from this game, and how Kevin-Prince save face for Ghana with 1 goal. We are tempted to say: if only he had been fielded earlier. But considering his injuries and vulnerability ...
