Brains are just a greyish matter, and everyone has it. But ideas, from wisdom, brevity and the fear of God is rare, and that is what develops nations.

While it is true development cannot come without brains so it is that development cannot come without financial resources or the trading of valued assets for resources in the form of materials, expertise and or financial capital. Our very definition of brains or intellectual capacity in Ghana is our downfall. We have since our independence from colonial rule equated classroom accolades with wisdom and thus offer every position of national importance, most of which require wisdom, to people with PhD's or some post graduate degree.
In my estimation, however, unless and until Ghana's educated and political elite can answer why we have people with PhD's and other postgraduate degrees heading most positions of authority but Ghana cannot seem to move beyond burrow and spend/steal or sell Ghana piece by piece and mismanage proceeds we will continue to live as an under developed nation. It is the lack of wisdom associated with our so-called classroom earned intellect that fuels tribalism, tribal zealotry and or gives comfort to loyalty to tribes and not to nation. One cannot use their brains for good deeds that benefits mother Ghana if their loyalty is to tribe and or region even if they collect every PhD the world has to offer.

I HOPE YOU ARE AWARE THAT, THE BASIC PILLLARS OF MODERN CIVILIZATION STANDS ON THE TIRELESS EFFORTS OF ITS CITIZENS TO INVENT NEW THINGS TO SATISFY THE GROWING NEEDS OF THEIR PEOPLE AND THE GROWING POPULATION.
SUCH ABLE SACRIFICE IS POSSIBLE AND SUSTAINABLE IF, WHEN WE DO HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE PRACTICAL SKILLS IN THE TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION,THE ABILITY AND THE WILL TO BRING CHANGES,IMPROVEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT IN A SOCIETY.
NO MATTER HOW MUCH NATURAL RESOURCES A NATION IS ENDOWED WITH, SUSTAINED DEVELOPMENT WILL BE ELUSIVE IF, THE HUMAN RESOURCES CAPACITY IS NOT ADEQUATELY BUILT TO EXPLOIT AND TO PROCESS THE RESOURCES INTO FINISHED PRODUCTS FOR VITAL SERVICES IN A COUNTRY.
HAVE ANY OF OUR SO CALLED GHANAIANS, INCLUDING OUR HIGHER AND RESERACH INSTITUTIONS EVER MNADE A ''DENT''PRESENT THEIR INVENTIONS OR PATENTS FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT OR ASSISTANCE TO ANY OF THE FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS AND THE GOVERNMENT IN GHANA.
MOST OF THE TIME, THEIR VERY INTERESTS HAVE ONLY BEEN CENTERED IN ''BUYING AND SELLING'' AND NOT THE CREATION OF DYNNAMIC INDUSTRIES, MANUFACTURING,PRODUCTION AND DEVELOPMEMNT TO ACCELERATE ECONOMIC GROWTH,CREATE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES, GENERATE INCOME,CONSUMER SPENDING AND BETTER STANDARDS OF LIVING IN GHANA.
THE MAIN POINT IS GREAT NATIONS WERE NOT BUILT BY CHANCE OR BY ACCIDENT.GREAT NATIONS WERE BUILT BY PEOPLE WHO BELIEVED IN '''GREATNES'' ''THOUGHT GREAT WITH VISION'' AND ACTED WITH CONSCIENCE AND DEVOTION.
CAN YOU FIND TODAY DEDICATED MEN AND WOMEN WITH VISIION, AND READY TO PUT THE NATION ON ECONOMIC TRACK.
I WILL VERY MUCH APPREACIATE YOUR FEED-BACK.
WITHOUT VISION-PEOPLE PERISH

Abeeku, we all know that not all PhD holders or highly and academically educated people are wise, or possess a can-do spirit with the required moral attitude and true patriotism, befitting for national leadership.
Unfortunately, these wrong people have found themselves parading in the corridors of power and using the positions they've acquired to usurp the Nation.
Abeeku, the problem is, what other benchmark do you suggest we, as a Nation, use in choosing our leaders, the uneducated or unlearned? Please, tell me alone!

GHANAIANS ARE NOT EDUCATED AND TRAINED TO SIT, WAIT, WATCH AND PRAY AND FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO BE THE SOLE CARETAKER FOR HIGHLIFE,MERRY-MAKING AND HONEYMOON.
OUR COUNTRY NEEDS TO EVOLVE A PRACTICAL APPROACH IN SOLVING ITS CHALLENGES, DIFFICULTIES AND PROBLEMS.
ONCE WE TRULY KNOW THAT LIFE IS DIFFICULT.....ONCE WE TRULY UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT IT-THEN LIFE WILL NO LONGER BE DIFFICULT.

This message is spot on, and must be broadcast and published in all our media. It must be translated into our local languages and disseminated throughout the nation.
We have all the resources we need. We have the brains to utilise these resources for the benefit of all. Let us make the best use of our resources, rather than wait for foreigners to exploit them and make profit to our detriment.
The chocolate story aptly captures the fundamental problem with us Ghanaians. Let us stop the futile politicking, and think of how we are going to process cocoa into cocoa products, extract and refine our gold, diamond, silver etc, extract and process oil and gas.
Let us stop the excuses we have made for the past 50 odd years that we do not have the skills, technology and capital to add value to our abundant resources. Let us build roads and other infrastructure ourselves, and stop relying on foreigners. Let us stop the bickering and address the problems we face as a country.
Ghanaians, let us be wise!
