Foreigners see the opportunities and potential we do not see. The influx of the Chinese should have taught us a moot lesson. If the Chinese deem it fit to come all the way from rural China to exploit our gold and do other jobs by hook or by crook, why do we fold our arms and complain of unemployment?
We have all the resources we need. Let us exploit our abundant resources ourselves for the benefit of all. Let us take control of our own destiny. Let us see the opportunities, and not the problems. Let us work hard and better.
Let us run our country well.

Mr Addo has spoken sensibly; but will Ghanaians accept his assertions? Ghanaians must wake up and check round the world. If they do, they will see that the situation in Ghana is not overly different from other countries; the plight being faced by them is not unique. The world has changed and it is still changing, so, Ghanaians should move with it and stop complaining about everything. Nothing is free or cheap in this world any more. Taxes and prices are rising everywhere, while subsidies by governments are tumbling down rapidly.
Most European countries have at present reverted to part-time-low-pay policies and short term contracts basis as conditions of scaling down high wages outlay and to increase employment. Perhaps, Ghana should follow that direction. It should also reduce subsidies with a view to stopping them in the long term.

Oh stop this nonsense, Mr KAMA. Do you know why foreigners troop to this country? Because our government is always looking outward to foreigners and neglecting our local entrepreneurs. Have you been paid to sing the government's song for them or is it your appointment to a board that has clouded your opinion? Ask your own workers who you exploit. You can start by helping budding young graduate entrepreneurs to start up their businesses. You have been lucky so don't insult the rest of us.

Do those young boys and girls selling dog chains on the streets of Accra get any support from government? Do paa-oo-paa boys get any support? do the many private businesses such as seamstresses, plumbers, mechanics get any such support?
Government can only do so much to create jobs. Budding entrepreneurs should seek commercial loans from the banks and financial institutions as capital. This is why the rural banks were set up. These banks have been giving loans to taxi drivers to purchase cabs.
Where there is a will, there is a way.

While there may be opportunities in Ghana in respect of certain career orientations, Mr Addo must not oversimplify the difficulty that many Ghanaians could have even in their efforts to access them. he should ask himself "how many ordinary Ghanaians receiving just the minimum wage salaries can afford the very highly-priced hotels he talks about as being filled by foreigners?" He shouldn't so far removed from the reality he knows very well that even all well-intentioned enthusiastic Ghanaians face. He knows how easy it is for Ghanaian financial institutions very easily open their doors to foreigners than their own.
Well said, I hope the noisy pack are listinig.
