According to NDC insiders, the top officials who benefitted from these State facilities include the current Vice President, Mr. John Mahama, who acquired his under the same policy Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey benefitted from.

It will be recalled that in the year 1996/7, the Sakumono SSNIT Flats, which had been officially designated as the residence of Members of Parliament of the Republic of Ghana were sold out to the MPs whose terms had just ended. This was done without prior arrangement for incoming MPs, who, for a time, were stranded, in terms of having no official residence to live in.

Our sources also disclosed that the wife of the current Minister for Manpower and Employment, Hon. E. T. Mensah, acquired several State Fishing Corporation (SFC) cold stores in Tema. At that time her husband was serving on the body set up by national administration to handle the sale of certain SFC assets. The sources asked: “Who acquired the catering rest houses around the country when the PNDC sold them?”

One of the sources pointed out categorically that: “The NDC cannot win this moral debate… It only makes the NDC look and sound nauseatingly hypocritical.”

They cited the recent judgement pronounced by the Supreme Court on the sale of a state bungalow to Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, which judgement has become the subject of controversy between national administration and the NPP stalwart.

The 55 year old 'young' Mahama cluelessly and foolishly adopted that insulting slogan because he had too much oil money to buy cars, motorbikes, bicycles and laptops that would be used to influence chiefs, students and some educated 'illiterate'of journalists like Abeeku Aggrey Santaana and Alfred Ogbaame and co to campaign for him. I can bet with who read my comment today that Mahama would be hotly contested in the NDC next delegate congress because within the NDC, Mahama is seen as week, corrupt and incompetent. Alban Bagbin has started the crusade and I bet more will follow in the ensuing days. And the funny thing is that Trokosi Rawlings is expolring Mahama's weakness to stage a come back after the former was disgraced, humiliated and made useless by criminal Asiedu Nketia. Is he saying he is not aware of all the cries of the people about NDC corruption? During the electioneering year 2012 NDC wasted our money to pay for the vote rigging and the buying of high state officials who have no grace.

Now Ghanaians are suffering the effects of 2012 vote buying wastage perpetrated by the NDC.

NDC is the IRONY OF GHANA. We could have been great but for the NDC. The same PNDC policy using state money to maintain their stay in power at the expense of the nation.

When JJ came he destroyed all akan businesses so that we shall all be "equal". JJ didn't understand why some people can be richer than others. To him if you are rich you are a thief. That is why Ghana has no billionaires cos the culture of working hard and making big money was an anathema. But now his people are in charge and are rich.

The rot in the system which is now blown out of proportion, started the very day we weaned ourselves from the British. Why? How many of those who were in government with Nkrumah was poor including their relatives? That mindset have been passed on and it roots have become like a huge oak tree very difficult to uproot. The indelible mark those earlier politicians left is what we are seeing today in the sense that politics is seen as a way to easy riches. Nothing more or less.

We need a strict, and not a dictator, to ensure things are done right.Punish people for their wrong doings to stop others from continuing.
I have served at the District Assembly and I must say,it's horrible. Even these External Auditors are soo corrupt. They just need their palms greased and that's it. All money spent ends there.

Rawlings made noise about fighting corruption but his government ended up as a corrupt one which violated the rights and freedoms of several ghanaians.Some of his ministers were overtly corrupt and he took no action against them.In the end he left a nation more corrupt than ever.At least in a civilian government we can talk about corruption whereas in a military regime talking about curruption invites military brutalities with no course to seeking redresss to such brutalities.FUCK THE ARMY!!.SHIT THE ARMY!!!!

I think it is hard time the Auditor General is granted the powers to prosecute public officials found to be engaged in financial malpractices. the Auditors Generals office should be equipped with capacity to monitor and supervise the operations of MDAS. Special financial over-site committees which is led by parliament must be set up with special powers to force public officials whose offices and agencies are found to misappropriate public funds to appear before and answer questions. Again they must name and shame persons, group of persons and agencies found to be engaged in financial misappropriation in Ghana. the banks and other financial agencies must be tasked to cooperate in any investigation of person or persons found to be engaged in financial malfeasance. the police must be well trained and equipped with modern investigative tools to make sure they carry their work effectively and efficiently. i will suggest an audacious solution: hand all financial operations of the MDAs to foreign think tanks to handle

There are two major hindrances to progress in the country.

1. Subtle but active involvement of many politicians and top officials in corruption and the consequential numbness on their part to expose it.

2. The disturbing and wobbling inaction of governments to deal with culprits when investigating committees copiously expose them in their reports

Just can't fathom the magnitude of corruption in the nation! Whatever happened to the Anas exposee? Whatever happened to the youth employment body scandal report? And now just listen to the Auditor General. Someone of his standing and position can't just weep for the nation for the loss of a pesewa; his findings epitomizes the depth to which the nation has sunk in the pit of corruption!

I have six suggestions for the government:

1. Refresh the list of major incidences of corruption well documented

2. Call major stakeholders to a round table to review recommendations in such reports without any compromise

3. Hand over all culprits to the law enforcing agents and from day 1 monitor the legal drilling of the culprits to ward off and confront any move to corrupt due process

4. Monies stolen by culprits must be collected back to state coffers, by hook or crook, no matter how long it takes and with interest

5. A review of laws on corruption is urgently needed to tighten any lose knot

6. Politicians must be ashamed for publicly advertising and adoring corruption by dishing out automobiles to chiefs, laptops to students, salt and some goodies to some rural folks days to election day.

Action speaks louder than words. Let the government act!
