That is the type of politicians we have in Ghana. They know the right thing to do, but they will never do it. The nature of corruption in Ghana is that; Rawlings and men stole money, Kuffour and his men did it, Atta Mills and his men did the same. The current government and his men will say that all the previous government stole. Why can't we also steal to get our share?

It will take just one honest and good leader to steer Ghana into right and developmental path.We have illiterate, blind and greedy politicians leading Ghana. Let us pray that we will get that one good and honest leader who will help Ghana. It is one courageous leader who help Singapore to become what it is today.

Tony Aidoo should return those state cars or pay the market price for those cars. Other than that, I see his speech as the same old speech Ghanaian politicians give.

Huuh, I have been pondering over this issue for sometime now; government is the largest spender in any economy. To build local giant companies, government needs to give them business like it happens everywhere. But the way ours is going, with all the kickbacks and "patronage", one is tempted to side with Tony Aido on this one. Perhaps, what needs to happen is a competitive, transparent way of government giving business to local firms, because we cannot also say that government should give all the jobs to expatriate firms. Eh, it's a tricky situation oo, isn't it?

GYEEDA, for example, was engineered to quell burgeoning social unrest among the unemployed youth by equipping them with productive entrepreneurial skills that could create wealth. Instead, the entire scheme was hijacked by cynical thieves who have escaped justice with impunity. It's cost the nation money, some GHS950 million which it does not have, but more importantly, created a despair that is destroying a generation.

Unless we find a way to grow genuine entrepreneurs, we are doomed. South Korea was built by genuine entrepreneurs such as the owners of Hyundai and Samsung. We depend on a total inefficient government for almost everything. What a shame.

Which company will not be falsely doing well if you are paid upfront for a thousand of your products and you supply far less than that and nothing happens. Which company will not do well when under pretense of sole sourcing, business is handed at ridiculous prices. That is different from when government buys under competitive prices. Let's face the truth, if Nana Konadu had been in the good books of government , Nsawam Cannery products would have been at every government function. I would not have a problem with that if the product is good( it is because I use it) and it priced competitively. Companies are used to channel funds for campaign and looters. This is what Mr. Aidoo is talking about. God bless Ghana.
