The "Bison" is almost there. He is BACK, even if not fully.
When his name was omitted from Chelsea's Champions League Squad, I told most of you that his name wasn't wiped out from all tournaments. Chelsea is like the other elite clubs. They have few tournaments to honor and so the player would have his part to play in the team. Beside Champoins League, the regular league matches are there as well.
I may be wrong but I think Jose Mourinho knew what he was up to. It looks like he is reintroducing Essien to the system with a systematic approach. It was too risky to depend on Essien when both of them came back to Chelsea from Real Madrid. The coach would have been blamed if the player was to be relied upon and couldn't handle the task. It would have backs fired in the face of the coach.
Yes, being a player competing in the Champions League, gains much confidence due to high standard of that tournament. On the other hand, it is not bad to also play in tournaments like this Capital One Cup. All Essien has to do is to play his heart out for all to witness. As far as it is a competitive tournament, he will gain his fitness and confidence back for more approaching and tough tournaments. The WC too will help him to gain momentum and sharpness. Competitively, his confidence will be intact even before the WC will begin.
We give all thanks and glory to the Mighty God for his work on our players. Most of them are gaining the qualities they need on time in order to participate in the WC tournament. Are we not blessed?

South African satellite channel SuperSport International has agreed to pay in excess of R2-billion (approximately US$285-million) for the TV, mobile and internet rights for the country’s
Premier Soccer League (PSL) over the next five years. SuperSport has signed a US$2.5 million deal with the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) to secure the broadcasting rights to the country's top soccer league.
The deal will run from 2011 to 2013. Nigeria's top domestic soccer league has secured a four-year broadcast deal with SuperSport reported as worth US$34 million in total.
The Ugandan Super League (USL),has inked a US$5 million, 5year broadcast deal with South African-based sports channel SuperSport.
South African pay-TV operator SuperSport has agreed a broadcast deal with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), the deal will see SuperSport provide live coverage of 20 matches from Kenya’s
second division, starting with Wednesday’s match between Nakumatt FC and Moyas FC, until the end of the current season. The Tusker Premier League, the highest level of club soccer in Kenya,
has signed a three-and-a-half year deal with Puma. The deal, which is worth US$117,000 overall, will see Puma sponsor and supply match balls used in the league. "The partnership between KPL and Puma will cost Kshs ten million over three and a half years.
“Each team will be provided with balls while Puma will gain on pitch side branding and as well on the broadcasting point of view SuperSport will be able to capture the brand.”
East Africa Breweries Limited's (EABL) Tusker brand has been announced as the new title sponsor of the Kenyan Premier League (KPL). The multi-year agreement, worth US$1.96 million overall,
sees the top flight of soccer within Kenya officially known as the Tusker Premier League for the next three years.
Kenyan Premier League (KPL) sides Mathare United and Ulinzi Stars have announced new sponsorship deals with Puma and Metropolitan Life respectively.
Mathare United's one-year apparel deal with Puma sees the German sports manufacturer supplying the soccer team with boots, replica merchandise to sell to fans as well as playing and training kit.
The combined value of Puma's contribution will total US$34,000. Meanwhile KPL champions Ulinzi Stars, a soccer team made up of the country's military servicemen, have signed a US$17,000 deal with Metropolitan Life Insurance.
The Zambian Super Division is also sponsored by MTN Zambia, which in June announced a 2.4 billion kwacha (about US$480 000), as their sponsorship package this year for both Chipolopolo and the top-flight league with the winner of the championship race getting about US$50 000.
With Dynamos collecting US$75 000, for winning the Premiership title last year under the sponsorship deal between the PSL and Delta Beverages through their Castle Lager brand, it appears the domestic Premiership is still, to some extent, better sponsored compared to the one in Zambia.
The Kenyan Premier League is operated and run as a private limited company incorporated in October 2003 under the Companies Act of Kenya. It is fully owned and managed by the 16 member clubs with each club being a shareholder
KPL and SuperSport signed a $5.5 million four-year partnership deal, the biggest football sponsorship in the country and in the region. The deal
which is expected to expire in 2011 will see a renegotiated contract double that amount to $11 million.
WHITE JERSEY!
HERE IS MY SUGGESTION.
THIS WHITE SHIRT MUST HAVE A COLLAR. THE JERSEY MUST ALSO HAVE LONG BLACK, TINY STRIPES THROUGHOUT FOR BOTH THE SHIRT AND SHORTS AND WHITE HOES. THE GFA LOGO MUST MUST BE EMBEDDED INSIDE A HUGE BLACK STAR ON THE LEFT/CHEST AREA.
HERE IS MY SUGGESTION. THE RED N YELLOW JERSEY SHOULD BE MAINTAINED, BUT WITH WHITE SHORTS. IF IN DOUBT, YOU CAN CONTACT OZWALD BOATENG IN THE UK FOR ASSISTANCE. GFA, DONT BE LAZY AND MEDIOCRE.
IF YOU PUT MORE WORK IN AN APPEALING JERSEY/KIT. IT WILL BE REPLICATED IN THE SELLING OF THESE JERSEYS.

If Essien is still as good as your report suggests why is he still warming the bench in the main league games? He remains an unused sub for as long and don't even make the sub bench sometimes. One eyed man is always the King in a village of the blind that's why he is always made a Captain in a competition which carries no any value. Pls stop the 'self tickling reportage' and call a spade a spade, Essien is old and off form in the eye of Maurino and that's why he is playing the second fiddle, PERIOD.

Essien plays for a club with the fourth highest payroll in the world. They don't have a shortage of good players, especially in the midfield. Jose had no problem using Essien last year in Madrid, and as the season goes on will use him again this year. He played well against Arsenal, Egypt, and Swindon. Let him actually play like an old and off form athlete before calling him such.

I think Essien be adviced to take advantage of next January transfer window to move on in another league where he will get to play regularly. He has paid his due at Chelsea and has even created a good platform for successor in Atsu. His contemporaries like Drogba, Kaloun, Malouda etc have recognised their time limit and have moved on in another league and are doing very well. Essien should stop the ego seeking mentality of "I'm a Chelsea player" and recognise he is no longer in any serious contention remaining in Chelsea, the longer he remains in Chelsea to continue to warm bench the more his value goes down, by the time he decides to leave Chelsea he might be worth nothing. I believe he should by now know calling Mourino "My father, My father" is just not enough to sustain a proffesional carrier in football esp when your form is but all dipped albeit long period of injury. Essien should give it a go somewhere else to resucitate his real potential even at his age of '30' and stop playing to the garllery of bragging right of Ghanaians who want to see you be listed as a Chelsea ligend even when other Ghanaians have played for Chelsea and left with their honour intact. Essien, the time is now to move. GOOD LUCK TO YOU.

Your pacing, your control, your decision making, your professionalism and your skills are world class. The problem is you're injury prone. Coach Mourinho has the wisdom and love to not to rush you into games but to feature you when it matters most. I believe that by Jan/Feb you would become a mainstay of Chelsea's midfield. You would hit terrific form to crown your outstanding performance in Brazil. You are the best, Essien. My prayers are with you.

Let Essien and us all face it- he has no place in the starting midfield. Even Oscar and Mata are sweating of regular place. Essien is not in their class at the moment.
He will be an excellent addition to teams like the spurs, everton and co, and it will be better for Ghana in Brazil.
Get your ass off that damn mediocrity persona, ask to be loaned elsewhere so you can get regular football, then you can prove to the world your worth- better for your career, better for the club you go, better for Ghana.
Remember, you cannot prove your worth on the bench, but by being on the field playing
