NPP "the natural party of choice in the 2016"? By what measure is NPP the natural party of choice? For who?
There's no natural party of choice in Ghana. Our people have been forced to choose between two equally bad alternatives. Both major parties are full of politicians who think too much of themselves and their personal welfare at the expense of the total development of the nation.
Ghana is still in search of a leader in the mold of Nkrumah. There's no one on the horizon.

The perception in Ghana based on the last 21 years of the 4th Republic is that NPP is an Asante-Akyem party. You can do something to change that perception and the reality that inderpins it or you can bury your head in the sand.
Good Luck!

Harry the NPP Akan was delighted when he found a young NPP Northern woman who accepted his proposal of marriage as he was sensitive about his wooden leg and a bit afraid no one would have him. In fact, he couldn`t bring himself to tell his fiancee` about his leg when he slipped the ring on her finger, nor when she bought the dress, nor when they picked the time and place. All he kept saying was, "Darling, I`ve got a big surprise for you," at which she blushed and smiled bewitchingly.
The wedding night came and went, and the young couple were at last alone in their hotel room. "Now don`t forget, Harry, you promised me a big surprise," said the bride.
Unable to say a word, Harry turned out the lights, unstrapped his wooden leg, slipped into bed, and placed his wife`s hand on the stump.
"Hmmmmm," she said softly, "that IS a surprise. But pass me the Vaseline and I`ll see what I can do!

As you pointed out about Labour's Blair-Brown. There was a dysfunctional relationship between Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, during their time in power, however, they did work together to achieve three successive election victories for the Labour party.
Whether you're in denial of 'factions' within NPP or not, the question then is the effect of the perceived Akyem-Asante on the party's unity, and NPP's appeal to Non-Akan voters. Is the current leadership and the leadership contenders united by the belief of the party rather than personal ambition? And can the NPP put aside its internal differences for the common good of the party?

Leave them. They don't think that perceptions can at times be more important than the truth. Whether there is an actual Akyem-Asante rift (or even factions) doesn't matter to that small group of non-NPP Ghanaians they need to tip the balance in favour of the Akan vote in their party. The NPP die-hards "know" there is no factionalism in the party but they are not enough to deliver the presidency to the party. They need the votes of some of those who believe (whether rightly or not) that the party is too Akan-based and that there is even rivalry within the Akan group with non-Akans being sidelined.
Instead of addressing this issue of perception, they are taking the path of proving that the perception is false. But the argument does not convince those they are aimed at. These people want to see certain outward changes in the party, not proofs that their perception is false.
The strategy to change things is up to them. So far, they don't seem to be hitting on the right one.
Well, somebody who is called Calus Von Brazi may not know the true ethnic temperament of Ghanaians. I dare say that!
Great and balanced account!
