Asantes are the head of all the Twi speaking tribes in Ghana. Even the combination of Kwahu and Akyem cannot match the superiority of the Great Asante Nation. The Bonos(Brong Ahafo)are equally useless like the combination of Fantes, Ewes, Akwapims, and Gas. THe Northners don't worth to be mentioned.
NPP is for Asantes. Get rid of the Akyem faction. From now on, an Akyem can only become chairman, secretary, or supporter of the NPP and not as a Presidential candidate. I hope it's loud and clear to them. Akufo-Addo only needs common sense to retire from politics and not God's guidance.

Brother say it like it is. You are now doing what we know of our Ga brothers and sisters. They have no fear of anyone and are prepared to say it like it is. Unfortunately most of the moderate Akans are very much aware of this situation but somehow plays ostrich as if they are blind to the weakness in the party. Nkrumah used their weakness of alienation other Ghanaians to rally the rest of Ghana against them and won. Rawlings did the same of which the current NDC runs. They can accuse Ewes of owning the NDC but they have allowed other non Ewes to play signinficant roles since the Rawlings days. This can never be said of the NPP. All we see is more attacks and an increament in their tribal psychosis.

Even among the Akans, most especially the Non Asante/Akyems who do not have long family tradition in the affairs of the party including the not so wealthy feels the same.

So if other Akans feel this way how do you think the non Akans may feel? They feel very horrible in the party. It doesnt help when educated NPP fools also in the media opens their mouths and every garbage that crops up in their minds pops out of their mouths without thinking twice. They talk down on others as if they own Ghana.

But at last the brave among them are saying it like it is. They either accept it and change their ways or leave and form another party and name it whatever tribal name they prefer. That is the only way true democracy can be groomed in Ghana.

The triberism line was drawn by JJ Rawlings who gave birth to the so called that is the AKAN party. He JJ rawlings is the problem when it come to the tribalism in Ghanaian party politics. Let every ewe join the NDC government and the NPP elect whoever they feel confident in them to be their flagbearer. Regarding tne Adu Boahen and Akuffo Addo lost in the previous election, every sensible person in Ghana knows they were robbed during the election. Even JJ Rawlings know that he robbed Adu boahen and Mahama knows that he robbed Akuffo Addo. The end result is that it is the Poor Ghanaian that suffer. Look at what is going on in Ghana. If the NDC government is the truly loved government elected by majority of Ghanaians, why will there be demonstrations and strikes among the TUC and the others??? When they force something you do not eat down you throat, you throws it up. This is precisely what is going on in Ghana. You wait until the NPP assumes power, the scholaship scheme enjoyed by the northerners will be scrapped and those involved in election malpratices starting from the AFRC era till the Mahama election malpractises will be exposed and delt with. Today's Ashantis are made up of Dagbagbas (Dagombas), Moshies, Wangaras etc, who Yaa Naa Gariba gave to his friend in Coomase and they with several Hausa mallams produce the tall handsome Ashantis of today. Gariba came I to contact with Ashantis in the south of the ancient city of Salaga in the 1700s.
Every palace in Dagbon today has Ashantis known as Kabomsis. They are Ashantis the Ashanti King sent to Dagbon as mark of friendship. If I am not wrong, about two percent or more of Dagombas are descendants of Ashanti. Listen to the Dagbon drummers drumming in Akan on Fridays and Mondays. Let's stop this stupidity of tribalism and focus on the nation's challenges of energy insecurity, poor agric, lack of processing plants for rice, cocoa, maize, poor education and technology, corruption etc.
John Dramani Mahama is a Gonja found in the northern and Southern Ghana. They are Guans found in Eastern and Central regions.
Nkrumah came from Western region, but a hero across the nation. Colonel George Minyela is from Navrongo, but a hero in Koforidua. Stop this tribalism, we are one people.

It is not being Akan per se that makes the NPP appear as hostile to non-Akans. After all, the NDC is also actually Akan dominated until the recent inroads by the Mahama Northern League. It is the dominance of the virulently bigoted, mentally warped and supremely ignorant variant of the Akan ethnic stock in the NPP that has created that factual image for the NPP.

It is not only a perception, as the image is buttressed by the actions and utterances of the NPP leadership to the rank and file, ably represented on Ghanaweb by the worst elements amongst them , as they generally share those warped, distorted and thus false images of themselves and others. That has been the case since Busia's leadership of the PP to Adu Boahen's campaigns to Kufuor's rule and now Nana Addo Dankwa and all that "yen Akanfo" outbursts with even some advocating the killing of Ewes and Gas by the Asantes! Ayikoi Otoo himself must be sick in the head to brush those things aside as "perception".

Just as "All Die Be Die" T-shirts became hot cakes, I might also consider making a killing on "Kill Ewes and Gas" T-shirts. Biz isn't great these days in the UK and some diversification won't hurt! Copyright office should take not!

You see, Agyapong's green, venomous bile induced histrionics wasn't the first time the Asantes had been called into action by some cowards hiding behind them. Yes, those in Texas will vote for republicans and New Yorkers will always vote for democrats. However, it comes down to the policies and programs of the party and not because of where they hail from. Obama was not known anywhere, but democrats thought it best to "USE" him to win the election. Sen Clinton would be chosen or "USE" to stand for democrats, because they believe, she has the chance of winning the election to implement their programs. IT IS MORE ABOUT STRATEGY BRO, and not just democracy's sake. Currently, the republicans are rebuking the Tea Party members to tone it down it bit for them to win the election, else they would stay in opposition for long time. Do you get it now? See, people using their brains to think for the good of the party. That is what Ayikoi Otoo is saying.

NPP leaders are being unwise to keep on wearing the label- ASANTE/AKIM PARTY- which was giving to them by NDC without doing anything about it. It is about time, that they used their brains and get rid of that label by choosing someone from somewhere to lead the party. By your logic, you are saying that you can't find any better person outside of the Asante and Akyem tribes to lead that party, however you could find them to be VEEP, Chairman, secretary and women leaders. What kind of logic and common sense is that? So what democracy are you talking about?

I wrote this morning and gave the reason why Akufo should come out and leave the seen for Bawumia ASAP.

It would be good for NPP and Ghana if Nana did not contest for NPP leadership. The earlier he announces his retirement, the better for NPP and Ghana. Everyone in the Nation is crying for a better leadership and Bawumia should be encouraged to lead the party to bring hope and aspirations to the people of Ghana. I know he would get all the support from the Akyem mafia. Choosing Bawumia is all about strategy; to nullify NDC demonic tribal attacks-- Asante/Akyem party-- on the NPP and also to draw our Muslim and Northern brothers back to our camp. We know what NDC did to Limann and his party, don't we?

Gabby, you know that currently, NPP is not doing what they are supposed to be doing because of lack of leadership. It seems there is no opposition party in the country. This is the reason why Mahama and his bunch of thieves are creating committees and looting everything in Ghana and sharing among themselves. So let us do the right thing for once. Addo's infatuation with the NPP leadership is destroying the party. You guys need to wise up.

Akufo Addo should give up his dreams. Bawumia and Dan Botwe or OBosai should be the ticket to victory.

However, the issue now is the fact that there are not that many ideal candidates from the other tribes, at least those that have come forward so far. Bawumia seem to be the only logical choice but sometimes he comes across as technocrat than a politician....I like the man so much but I don't see the burning fire one would expect to see in a politician vying for a presidency. All the same, he's the only non-asante/akyem candidate I can see wrestling power away from the NDC.

Sometimes, I wish we have real leaders in abundance in Ghana irrespective of the political party they represent to just get the job done.

I think whoever presents him or herself and is acceptable can become the candidate. Don't follow the mind boggling reasons the NDC comes out with all the time. What is the outcome of their presentation of various candidates? Have that stopped them from the electoral frauds that the NPP has been complaining of all the time? I think there are other reasons apart from the Ashanti/Akyem faction that deprive the NPP from winning the elections, other than that why would they waste time to petition the 2012 elections?

NDC have never elected any of their leaders. Rawlings imposed himself on NDC and then he imposed Atta Mills on them. Mahama never competed the NDC leadership with anyone. He was also an imposition. Ayikoi is thus comparing oranges with apple. I do not believe that the non-Akans feel ostracised for I do not understand why they would remain in a party that do not want them? If you look at the current NEC members of the party it does not look like a party where non-Akans feel ostracised and outcast. Ayikoi needs to come again.

By saying this ,you have thrown the ball into the corner of your opponents who are using such vile tribal tags against the party you are seeking to be the Chairman unfairly and untruthfully. One thing that I find with the NPP is that some members who call themselves "the elite" will always rubbish good suggestions made by those they see as ordinary and that's what's caused the party most of our woes. People are calling for early congress to chose flag-bearer so we may begin party's education of grassroots members, ahead of the 2016. Some elders and scholars are rubbishing that "early congress" idea.

It's time to organize well, esp. with educating our grassroots. The task ahead isn't an easy one and there shouldn't be any jokes about it! Let's stop or seal all the cracks an divisions that we're seeing in the party so we may unite as one great "Osono" family ahead of 2016.

It must also be remembered that the NDC is the main force pushing this perception, with a public display of the wide ethnic spread of their three presidents so far, which the NPP must try to counter. In politics, perception plays crucial roles at the polls. Over to you NPP, you need a self introspection, accept the painful reality and make an effort to become trully national. Avoid your winner takes all mentality, wofase, wofase appointments of Kuffours era and the elitist arrogance of the Nana Addo period, respect all ethnicities and everything will be fine.

Looking at the composition how many normal persons would say that this is an akan party and that non akans feel outcast unless the person wants to deliberately hit below the belt for personal gain. America of all has over the last 20 years chosen only 2 family's to be their leaders including 2016 elections. Bawumia could be a major force in the NPP for future elections.
