I reserve the right as a citizen of Ghana to protect and defend my honour and integrity should this civilized challenge for the truth be ignored.
This is not the price I should be made to pay by the Government of Ghana for defending the Constitution of Ghana in the Waterville and Isofoton unconstitutional payments declared by the Supreme Court.

When matters like this arise, we focus our inquiry and seek to purnish those on the FRONTLINES who may ONLY be doing the bidding of some 'BIGMEN'
During the time Nii Adjei Okai was Commissioner, he uncovered a similar scheme in the Bonded Warehouse Regime. I followed this development with interest because of my work.
My Investigator friend at CEPS told me how MONUMENTAL PRESSURE was being brought to bear on the Commissioner by HIGHLY PLACED People in Government to set the Culprits free because they were their Political Benefactors and Pillars of their Communities.
I was amazed to hear that Government Appointees, who needed the resources to carry out programs that would endear them to their Constituents and Voters would now be interceding on behalf of those stealing so much of those resources.
And when the Commissioner, as strong as he was, refused to do the bidding of his senior colleagues in Govt and refused to leave the Nation Wreckers alone, some Bogus Computer Fraud Allegation was manufactured against him and the Rented Press went to work on him and went to town with the allegations as if they were proven.
The state Institution, SFO, whose mandate it was to seek the Nation's interest in such matters, all of a sudden, was investigating the Commissioner. Some of my friend's Colleague Investigators onthe matter were threatened and a Judge was found to threaten all of them with CONTEMPT of COURT if CEPS continued to pursue the TAX EVADERS. CEPS WAS EVEN STOPPED FROM CASHING CHEQUES GIVEN BY THE TAX EVADERS to recover most of the 200 Million Dollars stolen through the Bonded Warehouse KULUULU.
This is Ghana for you.
Today, where is Nii Adjei Okai? He is probably paying the Political Price for NOT COMPROMISING his Position.
You see, quite a few of Customs Officers have been placed at certain locations and Collection Points for a Purpose and it is the Tax Evader who determines which Customs Officer must be placed where and his Corrupt Friend in Govt would make sure the CEPS Leadership did just that. And for fear of losing their Job they would oblige. It was ONLY Nii Adjei Okai who refused to oblige and he was branded an enemy and we all saw how the Rented Press took him to town and disgraced him just for trying to do the right thing.
What happened to the CEPS Officers Anas exposed? Their prosecution would have led to some senior people in Government being exposed and for Political Expediency they were left alone before they started SPILLING the BEANS on Political Bigwigs.
Remember, the so-called Businessmen who benefit from Tax Evasion belong to both NPP and NDC and have survived every Govenment. Until they are EXPOSED and SHAMED along with their COHORTS inside Govt, we will only be WHITE-WASHING the problems in the Bonded Warehouse Regime.
And to talk about Prosecution in the instant case, what about Anas' many revelations? What about GYEEDA?
ONLY A DREAMER WILL EXPECT PROSECUTION. If you doubt me let's re-visit the issue a year from today 24 OCTOBER 2014

Up till now our law makers(MP's) and ministers have not declared their assets and no one cares. Let Mahama start from his Cabinet and trickle it down asap to include the customs officials, who had been implicated a long time ago in corrupt deals ably supported by NDC gov't officials by Anas Aremeyaw Anas, but the late President Mills, did nothing about the situation, again, because it involved members in his cabinet. Another opportunity has presented itself for the NDC administration headed by John Mahama, to show corruption who is boss.

The Presidential Task is just beating about the bush. Nothing will come out of what they are doing about the alleged uncovering of massive tax fraud in some mentioned Bonded Warehouses. Any time the Government is in need of cash, they find ways to squeeze some importers using dubious means. No Customs officer will condone with a warehouse operator to defraud the nation the way this information is put out.Officers of GRA, Customs Division are aware of a retired officer seeking favors from government has been feeding the Task Force with these wrong information to harass these law abiding importers and scare them to part with money. How can the Task force be talking about revenue and mention the amounts in dollars when Customs collects national revenue in cedis? It should not have taken this long for some Statesman to demand this action from the Government. We all know about the revelations by Anas Aremayaw upon his risky but thorough investigations of the CEPS both at the Tema Port and the Ivory Coast border. Almost nothing came out of that patriotic work by Anas.
It has always been the case in Ghana that so long as you have money to throw around or you have strong connections you can even get away with Murder.
It is about time everyone proven to have stolen from the Country was tried, punished with long prison term and forced to pay back all stolen assets plus interests. Until then, Ghana would continue to be the foraging barn for these insensitively selfish thieves. The International Community is watching, and their potential criminals are taking cue from how we deal with our Corruption cases. Once we let the thieves off, we encourage these mafiosos to rush in to find more local partners in crime.
Such overseas economic criminals could include Corporations who use their names to shield their operatives both inside and outside Ghana. They have our Gold, Oil, Cocoa, communications and even Water to fill their pockets with at our expense.
May someone tell us how many Ghanaians own the majority shares in any of these high-yielding basic economic backbone Companies that deal in the items mentioned above? Where is our money, Mr. Woyome? How long will the Government take to retrieve that money?
Our Banks either don't trust us enough to help us own and run these businesses ourselves, or they would rather use our collective savings to invest elsewhere while denying us Loans. Only the relatives of the political elites get access to such financial facilities to own private Planes or Sopping Malls.
Our heads of parastatal Institutions play innocent and allow their lieutenants do the scooping for them to share in somewhere along the line. So, we get documents missing into the galaxy after long periods of hidding the rot.
Enough is enough! Jail them all but take back what they stole first.

First of all, the news article says over 280 private and public companies, but failed to list all companies involved in the fraud, while naming only 5 out of the over 280 companies. secondly, per the news article, the amount the companies owe are in USD currency, of which i believe is inaccurate because no importer pays duties and taxes in USD currency in Ghana whatsoever. moreover, i believe that the amount indicated by the news article is the sum of all CIF values on each customs declaration in foreign currency and not the actual duties and taxes to be paid to the state. naming and shaming companies will not stop the trend, payment of accumulated duties and taxes plus penalty will not stop the trend either, if you want to tackle such a problem handle it at the root. i believe that the November deadline is too short, govt should give the companies up to the close of December 2013 to pay up without penalty, then from January 2014 those companies who fail the December 2013 deadline may now face the full force of the law. government is broke financially, the economy is very weak economically, if the government don't take care, investors will leave this county and new investors wouldn't come in to put their monies in a leaking basket, industries in Ghana will shutdown and will lead to mass unemployment, CARE HAS TO BE TAKEN!

They must pay with interest to discourage them from attempting next time again and that will deter all. A corruption charge is the prorate amount each culprit will pay associated with the cost of investigation.
There is no political will in dealing with corruption in Ghana.
