First of all the school where this Nunoo-Mensah guy built a building should ask him where he got the funds from.
I do not know how much he is paid but what I know is that the majority of Ghanaian workers - probably about 80%, are paid less than GHC300.00 a month so assuming that he is even paid 500% more than this, where did he get the extra cash from to build that school block after taking care of his family?
That school should either reject the building or pay him back for it before it becomes a curse on the students.

I reserve the right as a citizen of Ghana to protect and defend my honour and integrity should this civilized challenge for the truth be ignored.
This is not the price I should be made to pay by the Government of Ghana for defending the Constitution of Ghana in the Waterville and Isofoton unconstitutional payments declared by the Supreme Court.

My friend, even with single-spine and all that, Ghanaian workers are grossly under-paid.
Mark my word, so long as Ghanaian workers are not paid enough to live on, to pay their water and electricity bills, to pay their childrens school fees, to rent and eventually to also buy or build a little house for themselves and have some left-over to spend on food for their family, there will always be industrial strife in this country.
I can confidently say that it is their (workers) lack of knowledge of prevailing economic circumstances that makes it possible for them to continue to work for such criminally low and unrealistic wages and even with that, some of them are not paid for months on end.
That is why we have so much corruption, so much inefficiency, so much skiving and unproductivity, so much white-collar and street level crime and so many industrial strikes in this country. If workers were even just reasonably paid, there would be much more sanity, productivity and development in this country to the benefit of all.
Many of us have compromised ourselves to our fate and we leave the ruling elite and their foreign collaborators to loot the state without any mercy at our expense.
With the exception of Kwame Nkrumah, our govts, since independence, have proved themselves worse than the colonial govt that Nkrumah chased out of this country.
How can a country like Ghana, gifted with so much natural and human resources be so poor, so mismanaged and so messed up? Your guess is as good as mine.

Be honest with yourselves. Even with the tripling of salaries under the single spine salary scheme, some policemen and women still collect bribes, teachers insist on teaching only during extra classes, with extra charges. Civil servants in Government Departments hide files and only work on them after taking a bribe from clients. Doctors go on strike and the patients are directed to their private clinics. To crown it all, these are the same people who fill the churches every day and night. Striking workers should be paid by their unions.

Of course any sane person in this country would wonder why a character like this Brigadier general who has never been to war before, should remain at post after this blunder.
However it is only in third world countries where any fool with no credibility but with a big position in govt, can stand up and utter such nonsense in public and get away with it. Worse of all he said this in the presence of the President who proceeded to clap in appreciation. Wonders will never end in this country.
Mahama in particular loves these types. AMA Vanderpuiye, Dzifa Attivor, Okudzeto Ablakwa, Nii Lante Vanderpuiye, ET Mensah and so on and so forth. Even Rawlings, one of the 10 richest people in Ghana (Forbes) after executing one of the bloodiest episodes in the history of our country, did not sink as low as to utter such rubbish.
I have never heard or seen anywhere, where a National Security Advisor would himself seek to plunge his own country into chaos in the manner that this Nunoo-Mensah has attempted to do.
But well, when everything breaks down in a situation such as we are in, anything goes.

SUBJECT: TO RESPECTFULLY AND HUMBLY REFER TO THE "UTILITY SERVICES TARIFFS INCREASED AND THE 10 DAYS ULTIMATUM GIVEN BY THE GHANA TRADES UNION CONGRESS (TUC)" AND TO RESPECTFULLY SUBMIT THAT IT IS VERY PARAMOUNT AND ALSO VERY IMPORTANT TO SECURE THE STABILITY OF THE GOVERNMENT FIRST THAN ANY OTHER CONSIDERATIONS. IT IS AT THESE RELATED BACKDROPS THAT I PERSONALLY SEEM TO HOLD A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE VIEW POINTS CONCERNING THE UTILITY SERVICES TARIFFS INCREASED SINCE THE TIMING OF THE INCREASED IS/WAS NOT PLAUSIBLE BECAUSE THE PRESIDENT OF GHANA AND GHANA GOVERNMENT HAVE JUST SURVIVED THE SUPREME COURT CHALLENGE OF THE 2012 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS PETITION CHALLENGE WHICH LASTED FOR ALMOST EIGHT (8) MONTHS AND THAT THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS REASONABLE TIME TO GET FIRMLY ESTABLISHED BEFORE SOME MAJOR POLICY DECISIONS THAT MAY HAVE OTHER RELATED CONCERNS IMPLICATIONS, THERETO.

(i) A TRIPARTITE COMMITTEE TO BE COMPRISED OF THE UTILITY COMPANIES, GOVERNMENT AND REPRESENTATIVES OF THE TUC TO DELIBERATE OVER THE TARIFFS INCREASE ISSUE.
(ii) TO EXPLORE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY RELATED ASSISTANCE THROUGH THE DISPENSATION OF SMART DIPLOMACY.
(iii) TO CONSIDER TO BRING TO GOVERNMENT THOSE WHO REALLY HAVE THE EXPERTISE AND THE INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS CONNECTIONS THAT CAN BE USED TO CONNECT GHANA TO ENABLE GHANA TO BENEFIT TREMENDOUSLY FROM THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY IN THE AREAS WHERE GHANA HAS LESS COMPARATIVE ADVANTAGE EDGE.
(iv) THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR GHANA TO PURPORT TO PURSUE A POLICY OF "INWARD LOOKING" BUT TO PURSUE A POLICY OF "OUTWARD LOOKING" AND ALSO THE WAY TO LOOK FORWARD BUT NOT BACKWARD SINCE "FORWARD EVER AND BACKWARD NEVER"..

Dr. Serebour, the man has every right to say what he said. If you don't like how you are being paid then go somewhere else. For someone like you who think paying higher electric bill is linked to suicides, I think you don't even deserve to be employed. You are no good for the country.
What are you going to do? Encourage the naive young doctors to go on strike for Nunoo-Mensah's comment?

Nunoo-Mensah is right, if you withdraw your labour you don't get pay simple!
Many under the varous groups under TUC are not aware that during a strike action, many employers reserve the right to WITHHOLD PAY.
It is the responsibility of the Union to pay its members when they call strikes.

Dr Serebour should shut up and concentrate on being a medical doctor instead of dabbling in partisan politics. Afterall who in Ghana does not know what is happening in GMA?
