Then change the laws as Ghanaian workers are becoming irresponsible. Government should go to court and sack them. There is serious unemployment in the country. some good for nothing old folks are not thinking straight.

Where in the world do people work for 22 months without wages and salaries? Only in Ghana. People are just not foolish to embark on useless strikes. People embark on strike to back their demands when government and management renegade in paying their commitments. Did MPs not threaten to go on strike if their common funds were not paid. Did Tony Aidoo not recently complain his department has been underfunded by the government. Ask government how it expects the very poor to feed their children while they themselves live in castles and are paid huge sum of money and allowanaces?

These days lawyers who have never appeared in court and have never been heard of mount platforms and spill out absolute nonsense. Everybody knows that almost all strikes in Ghana are illegal. E.g. the law prevents all doctors and essential service providers from embarking on strike but they are the people who go on strike at the least opportunity. If they think they are worth more than the average Ghanaian then they should resign and set up their own clinics or go abroad!! Ghanaians who will die because of their going are already dying when they are here but are on strike. I fully support Brig Gen Nunoo Mensah!! Away with the impunity. The Govt must be bold to crack the whip. We are behind them!!

Sorry people like you will support Nunnoo Mensah with his infant speed. When workers are underpaid and utility is increased that much, when some workers are not paid and there is virtual embargo on hiring by government. As the same time, the government does not create conditions for the private sector, especially with the DUM SOR DUM SOR and no reliable source of water, how can the private sector help?
Are doctors, teachers and engineers just stupid to go on strike because they feel like doing so? What about some Zoomlion workers at Koforidua who had not been paid for 6 months? They keep the city clean but do they feed on air? Don't let political affiliation cloud your political thinking. It is Ghanaian who are rather suffering under massive economic and social corruption. If The Kitchen is high for Mahama and his cohorts like Nunoo Mensah and cannot handle the economy, they should rather leave for a capable person to handle issues.

INFO TO:
H.E.DR.MR.PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA
DATE: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2013
SUBJECT: TO RESPECTFULLY AND HUMBLY REFER TO THE "UTILITY SERVICES TARIFFS INCREASED AND THE 10 DAYS ULTIMATUM GIVEN BY THE GHANA TRADES UNION CONGRESS (TUC)" AND TO RESPECTFULLY SUBMIT THAT IT IS VERY PARAMOUNT AND ALSO VERY IMPORTANT TO SECURE THE STABILITY OF THE GOVERNMENT FIRST THAN ANY OTHER CONSIDERATIONS. THAT THE SURVIVAL OF THE GOVERNMENT TO BE SEEN TO TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER ANY OTHER RELATED CONSIDERATIONS.
IT THEREFORE BEHOOVES ON ALL THOSE WHO ADVICE GOVERNMENT ESPECIALLY H.E.PRESIDENT OF GHANA JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA TO BE VERY HONEST, SINCERE AND TRUTHFUL TO THE PRESIDENT AND GOVERNMENT OF GHANA NO MATTER WHAT UNPOPULAR THE ADVICE MAY SEEM AND NOT TO BE SEEN PLAYING TO THE WHIMS AND CAPRICES OF SOME SPECIAL RELATED INTERESTS.
IT IS AT THESE RELATED BACKDROPS THAT I PERSONALLY SEEM TO HOLD A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE VIEW POINTS CONCERNING THE UTILITY SERVICES TARIFFS INCREASED SINCE THE TIMING OF THE INCREASED IS/WAS NOT PLAUSIBLE BECAUSE THE PRESIDENT OF GHANA AND GHANA GOVERNMENT HAVE JUST SURVIVED THE SUPREME COURT CHALLENGE OF THE 2012 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS PETITION CHALLENGE WHICH LASTED FOR ALMOST EIGHT (8) MONTHS AND THAT THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS REASONABLE TIME TO GET FIRMLY ESTABLISHED BEFORE SOME MAJOR POLICY DECISIONS THAT MAY HAVE OTHER RELATED CONCERNS IMPLICATIONS, THERETO.
THAT IT IS A TRITE KNOWLEDGE THAT INCREASES IN PETROLEUM PRODUCTS PRICES WITHOUT ITS RELATED CORRESPONDENT INCREASE PRICE OF INCOMES MOST AT TIMES CAUSED AGITATIONS AND THEREFORE THE RECENT INCREASED IN UTILITY TARIFFS IS OR ARE NO EXCEPTIONS, THERETO.
IT IS THEREFORE MY RESPECTFUL AND CANDID SUBMISSION THAT H.E.PRESIDENT OF GHANA JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA TO CONSIDER IN THE BEST NATIONAL INTEREST IN THE INTERIM AND ALSO IN THE BEST INTERNATIONAL BEST INTEREST TO CONSIDER TO TEMPORARY STOP THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE UTILITY TARIFFS INCREASED AND TO PUT IN PLACE THE FOLLOWING COMMITTEES TO EXPLORE THE BEST SCENARIO INCREASE OF THE UTILITY TARIFFS THAT WOULD BE ACCEPTABLE TO ALL THE STAKEHOLDERS AS FOLLOWS:
(i) A TRIPARTITE COMMITTEE TO BE COMPRISED OF THE UTILITY COMPANIES, GOVERNMENT AND REPRESENTATIVES OF THE TUC TO DELIBERATE OVER THE TARIFFS INCREASE ISSUE.
(ii) TO EXPLORE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY RELATED ASSISTANCE THROUGH THE DISPENSATION OF SMART DIPLOMACY.
(iii) TO CONSIDER TO BRING TO GOVERNMENT THOSE WHO REALLY HAVE THE EXPERTISE AND THE INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS CONNECTIONS THAT CAN BE USED TO CONNECT GHANA TO ENABLE GHANA TO BENEFIT TREMENDOUSLY FROM THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY IN THE AREAS WHERE GHANA HAS LESS COMPARATIVE ADVANTAGE EDGE.
(iv) THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR GHANA TO PURPORT TO PURSUE A POLICY OF "INWARD LOOKING" BUT TO PURSUE A POLICY OF "OUTWARD LOOKING" AND ALSO THE WAY TO LOOK FORWARD BUT NOT BACKWARD SINCE "FORWARD EVER AND BACKWARD NEVER"..
RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED.
GOD BLESS GHANA AND AMERICA.
VERY TRULY YOURS,
BENONY TONY AMEKUDZI
