So it is true that the whole Ghanaian fibre is corrupt! Why must these criminals work against FDA just because they are doing their work well. The safty and health of Ghanaians must stand paramount in all things! Do not negotiate with our health because is not everybody who can afford to go for treatment overseas where standard medicine is offerd! All these criminals asking for the head of FDA do not receive their medication in Ghana! Why ask for the sack of all FDA bosses? So that you can sell anything as drug in Ghana? Idiots!

This is what happens when you have such a mediocre PRO in a major ministry like health who does not understand issues but on the basis of bootlicking and politics jumps to issue statement on issues that he has absolutely no technical clue about. This is the level of corruption and praise-singing patronage at the Ministry. Allow the FDA to do his job and save Ghanaian lives. That PRO is one of the biggest problem of the Ministry. Unless he is sacked, the Ministry will always be in the news all the time for the bad reasons.

I believe the FDA boss is the only upright Ghanaian who is concerned about the future of this country and its children. I think government must rather congratulate him for such high sense of integrity in fighting the the pharmaceutical / drug cartels who are only interested in killing people for profit. If Mahama appoints 10 of such people to sensitive places, Ghana would be paradise.
Ignore the NPP, IMANI, Sherry Ayittey & Co, who have all been bought by drug money.

The problem with in Ghana is, we have too much spices cooking in our food. Every jackass gets up in the morning and advices the president. The FDA is a regulatory body task by the government to oversee the proper manufacture and delivery of food and drugs in the country. What flimsy excuse is this. The FDA may have erred in certain instances, but they are up and doing their job. Rather i believe that the president should encourage Dr Opuni and his team to do their job, and should be given an ultimatum to round up all the fake companies involved in delivering fake drugs and food in Ghana. What civilized country will condone the unhealthy behavior of companies delivering food and drugs???

Until you fall a victim, you will think they are doing their work.

The crux of the matter is that, in the regulation of medicines, drugs, durable medical equipment, and it's ancillary products, as well as food products, there are clear mandates by which the FDA must operate by, to protect the health, life and wellbeing of the citizenry. These activities are in tandem with other core procedures, processes, and systems put in place by the MOH, to better serve the people.
We have been saddled with cases upon cases, where, corruption fueled activities by the FDA CEO, have created the situation whereby, substandard and inferior goods have found themselves in the country, after, the FDA has given such products a clean bill of health, leading to their importation and clearance from the ports, after which ie the FDA, turn around to say that, the products, are unregistered, substandard, have not gone through the necessary clinical trials, to warrant their use.
The FDA is the regulatory body, which grants the licenses to these importers to bring in such products after they are deemed to have satisfied all the requirements, to promote their subsequent use in the country. Now, if these products after they are deemed to have met all the requirements, and are therefore brought in are subsequently, found to be substandard or inferior, then there must be some level of malfeasance, dereliction of duty, weak oversight, criminal negligence, lack of experience and expertise, all fueled by corruption, at the very top of the FDA hierarchy, and because of the sensitivity of the mandate of the FDA and it's CEO, Ghanaians cannot be used as guinea pigs by the actions or inactions of the CEO of the FDA, as is in the case of Tobinco, where the most vulnerable of our society, infants and children, were exposed to the antimalarial suppository Gsunate-a medication which because of it's very nature in the treatment and prevention of malaria, makes it extremely important, makes it extremely imperative that, all the necessary procedures and processes were followed through to the letter, before finding it's way onto the Ghanaian market. The CEO of the FDA cannot absolve himself of this clear lapse underpinned by corruption, and Ghanaians are very happy that, the company-Tobinco has been fined, the said medication has been withdrawn and quarantined, and the company blacklisted. That side of the coin has been dealt with. It's now time to exact the necessary remedy to cure the malfeasance, rot, stinking corruption, inexperience, lack of expertise and training and the criminal negligence on the part of the FDA CEO, in it's oversight responsibility of the regulatory body. The time for the Mahama administration to act is now.

I was wondering how such huge volume of drugs could slip through the tentacles of the FDA & GHANA CUSTOMS TO THE MARKET,AS WELL AS THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH,HERSELF,with impunity.
If the FDA really does its job without any compromise,it would have been impossible for FAKE/SUBSTANDARD & UNREGISTERED DRUGS,to ever, enter the market,to kill the common man on the street, who go to the government hospitals, for health and safety, they happen to provide, out of ignorance.
Because that is the only affordable medical services they can afford.
The government knows that he is in trouble, because the FDA,MINISTRY OF HEALTH,GHANA CUSTOMS ARE ALL HER AGENCIES,HE HAS PUT IN PLACE,TO SAFEGUARD THE HEALTH,SAFETY,AND THEREFORE,THE SECURITY OF THE CITIZENRY.
MAHAMA IS SCARED OF THESE:
1)He doesn't know the number of people affected in the whole process(DEAD OR ALIVE)
2)The number of people, who will come out to sue TOBINCO,FDA,GHANA CUSTOMS & MINISTRY OF HEALTH.
3)The insecurity and untrustworthiness of all the government agencies involved in the issue.
THIS IS A BIG CASE FOR MAHAMA,BECAUSE IT IS NOT JUST ONE TIME OR ONE DRUG ALONE,BUT FROM TIME IMMEMORIAL AND MANY DRUGS DISBURSED INDISCRIMINATELY, BY THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH & the pharmaceutical companies.
THEREFORE,THE CITIZENRY'S HEALTH,HAVE FROM TIME IMMEMORIAL,BEEN TAKEN FOR GRANTED/COMPROMISED,BY THIS PRESIDENT AND HIS AGENCIES.
SUE THEM,IS MY ADVICE.

What you forget is that a drug may be submitted for approval and later the manufacturer will change its components. This is why an approved drug will later turn out to be fake. This is not the fault of FDA. You little minds you have to wake up to dealing with manufacturers in the east. I deal with this every day at work - testing imported materials into my adopted country.
