I think this is really good news for mother Ghana. I however, wish the contractors will expedite the installation, trial and commissioning works before the VRA starts with the regulation of the generators in Akosombo to conserve water nest year as the in-flow of rain water into the dam this year has been very very low.

When will VRA do it itself instead of relying on foreign contractors? We need to emphasize on local content and VRA has failed in that regards since the time immemorial. that is not good enough.

One thing that worries me about this story is hiring equipment from Nigeria to transport Gas Turbines and Generators to site. Surely when buying or going into aggrements with manufacturers you arrange with them to deliver to site. It is their resposiblity that the plant is delivered to site without any problem. What of after asking a 3rd party to move the plant to site and during installation things go wrong who takes the blame and who pays for damages?.
Two GT's producing 200MW of electricity where is the heat generated by the GT's going to? hmmmm.

Robert, you should know that those are specialized equipments. I believe the generators were manufactured abroad and, if the moving equipments are available on the continent, it makes economic sense to bring them from Nigeria rather than from across the oceans. By the way the electricity generated will go to the national grid. I hope you understand.
