Esi, very clearly at this juncture, it can only be said that the NDC has lost its marbles. No sane or independent-minded politician or political group would knowingly attempt to do what the NDC is doing at the moment. Its like sticking a red hot iron up ones rectum and looking up at him in his face and smiling.
In this particular case, looking at Mahama and his bunch of charlatans in office, they obviously do not know what they are doing. Jesu Christo! Mediocrity is what?
Without doubt, they are counting on the apathy and the typical lack of courage of the Ghanaian worker to pull this reckless political gimmick through.
Even though I expect that Ghanaian workers will just make a lot of noise with silly red bands tied to their arms and eventually leave it at that, I will still be shocked if there are no reversals or readjustments of these criminal hikes in tariffs.
It seems to me that we have reached breaking point for all Ghanaians as far as salaries and levies from various state agencies go.
Ghanaians do not deserve this kind of cheap and poor governance. For their lack of original thought and initiative, this govt is probably imbibing hook, line and sinker, the humanly impracticable and consistently inept economic prescriptions of the World Bank and IMF.
So I ask myself, for how long shall we continue to pursue the mirage of these senseless capitalist policies which, except for those countries that gained monumentally from the slave trade and colonialism, have never really successfully benefited anybody anywhere in the world over the past 500 years?
Unfortunately, there is no other better alternative political Party in Ghana to the one in power. So what do we do? Well, your guess is as good as mine.

Ade Coker has not convinced anybody by what he has said. The TUC might well participate in the deliberation and so what? The TUC participated on behalf of workers and not for themselves. We the workers are saying that whatever agreement reached at the meeting is not in our interest. The agent has no power than the principal. The TUC is our agent and so cannot have more authority than the principal.
Unlike the government who are administering the country on behalf of the people of Ghana but do not take the people’s interest into consideration when formulating policies and taking decisions, the TUC is more realistic so is having the full support of workers.
Ade Coker should know that Ghanaians know him as opportunist. Having helped to deplete the coffers of Accra Great Olympics, he has found it expedient to join a government which is giving corruption a free fall to anybody who belongs to that class of reasoning.
The NDC has given Ghanaians food for thought and they will live to curse their stars apart from the millions of cedis they will make for themselves before they go out of power. But any government which will come after the NDC will be obliged to seek answers or they go out themselves.

I agree with you that Ade Coker is an opportunist non-pareil. As an NPP supporter originally, he allowed himself to be swayed to the NDC to engage in all sorts of nefarious activities by no less a crook than the slimy ET Mensah himself.
Some of their criminal activities include importing cheap seats for the Ohene Djan Stadium and circumventing laid out architectural designs which ultimately contributed to the deaths of more than a hundred football fans.
I would wish that Ade Coker would pay his own workers well before jumping into the fray of this debate.
Kwame, your statement that Ade Coker has outlived the good of Ghana gives the false assumption that he might have been of some benefit once upon a time. If indeed you know of any time that he was useful to anybody or any group of people or the country as a whole, kindly let us know for the records.

In a society where we want our children to go to the best schools , in a society where we want good roads, hospitals, drinking water and the flow of electricity, it is just a pity to hear those in society who have to educate the poplutation that as long as we are getting many in the country we need to upgrade our systems. It is just foolishness to think that if we can't do it today we can do it tomorrow.we as a nation must know that what seven million people were using 50years ago can't serve 23millom people in anyway today.
It is just dishearting to hear even our so called doctors linking the increase to the spate of sucides in the country. This is really something to laugh about if those saying these things really think as mordern humanbiengs at all.
We as a nation must know that as long as the popluation is increasing by the day , year and with time we need to bite the bulite to make people responbile for what they use.
If the TUC, wants to get the increase revesed as they are saying then they must start eduating the masses about the wastage in our society.
E.g: some one staying outside but have his or her radio on . someone out from his or her room but have the fan on.This what the TUC, has to start to do and stop threathing gorvnment on this issue. We need to educate our people about wastage in the systerm, and stop playing the dirty politics the TUC is trying to play for it will fail society in the long run.
If you eat all now not thinking about the future of your children and grand childern , what are u as a person then. This is what has to bother us asa nation now, but not what we have tto pay to upgrade our systems.
