NHIS must be made to work. Its coverage must be expanded to make it affordable to the poorest people. Premiums should be tailored to the ability to pay. Those who can afford to pay higher premiums should be asked to pay more.
NHIA must continue to rationalise and make the scheme more efficient with better use of technology.

When junior minsiters can siphon millions of $ from government, how much money do you think the Government and its ministers is chopping.
Their could be funding for basic level care for the vast majority in Ghana but the lack of political will and greed is killing the system.
Unless an philanthropist or NGO forms a collection of health service providers/outlets having to rely on Government to fund this is like a pipe dream for now, because the mentality of greed and cutting corners is still endemic.
We need a collective drive from a mix of philanthropists, NGOs and experienced health care workers to create some solution even at the basic health care level until Government and politicians in general have a change in mentality and policy.
