Apart from the fact the government has recklessly run the finances of the country during the period preceding the elections which effects the people of Ghana has to suffer, the World bank and IMF are also on government to charge economic rates for the utilities. These institutions operate like banks who are also concern about governments meeting their debt repayment obligations. These institutions are not philanthropic set ups.
Anytime we talk about the inefficiencies in the utilities, it is given death ears by government as if there is nothing like that in existence. Even the point must be made that government expenditure in the presidency and the ministries must be brought under scrutiny from now. The money expended are for the people of Ghana and it is time we demand strict accountability. In the banks when there are expenditure problems, management demands strict monitoring of expenditure so that things don’t get out of control.
Government is just an administrative set up which periods expire when there is a change of government. The state and its people continue to exist irrespective of a particular government. The time is very rife to demand on government to manage our resources efficiently as long as we are demanded to make worthless sacrifices.

UK or USa power companies will make a profit and keep lights on 24/7/365...Lights only go out in usa during bad windstorms or when you don't pay bill, They will sign contracts with oil/gas companies so they Can't increase price of supplys. Every day i go to work and drive by railroad they are long trains (1-2 miles long) with nothing but coal on them headed to a power plant! Ghana can't even pay for 1 tanker of their own oil to supply the power plants or tema oil!
