What we need are leaders who are worth their salt, self-less (not selfish and greedy), one-nation (and not partisan or sectional). People who put their nation first before their own other considerations.

Nana Akomea has failed as a politician to do any of the positives listed above so why won't he be embarrassed. The whole silly notion that if you are in opposition, all that you can see are the ills of the incumbent whom you can blame for all our economic and social woes is as daft as it is false.

It is failed politicians like Akomea who are partly responsible for where we are as a nation. He should start looking within himself and correcting his own faults before he starts to point the finger at others.

Remember you have five fingers, FOUR of them always pointing back at you when you seek to point one at others.

Under his watch,the living condition for most Ghanaians has been progressively getting worse and worse everyday for them and yet Mr.Mahama has responded with a callous attitude and complete disregard for their plight and shown no interest, and no desire whatsoever to make the effort to reverse the unsavory conditions with real government solution policies that can give those Ghanaians better standard of living conditions. To be honest with you, Mr. Owen,I have made the effort to find one Government project that I could pin point as an accomplishment of Mr. Mahama from the time he became the President to date, unfortunately, nothing, "zilch" so far. What does it say about such an individual?. Action speaks louder than words. He is abject failure and it makes me feel sad that we have such an individual as our President. I feel sad when I hear politicians in opposition lying trough their teeth that things would have been better if they were in-charge of affairs and those in-charge jumping from one issue to another without any concrete proposals to tackle the issues.

Do you think you are playing smart to give us the impression that the NDC have caused this mess? Do not lie yourself in this context, because most of us see your stupid politics that you do play. Do you see how the NPP took bribes and gave contracts to people, companies and also Kennedy Agyapong, the Assin funny man without passing through parliament for approval. They want private jet, luxurious cars and things, mansions etc. there is no simplicity in their lives and yet they are all Christians and moslems, they want only "big things", so they make themselves unapproachable, above the law, fearful, etc. It is their way or no way. If you question them too much it means disrespect and you become their enemy. The electorate are also to blame, they vote along tribal lines. They can accept a bag of salt and throw away the "vote", instead of using it to make the future of their children brighter. How can our politicians be so stupid and not continue the good job done by their predecessors knowing fully well the suffering they went through to pave the way for our freedom. Today many Blacks have inferiority complex and our image has take a hit as a result of the 400 years of abuse. I can tell you every white, Oriental, even Indian and Chinese have superiority complex, every "idiot" thinks he is better that you because you are Black. Even some Blacks in the diaspora will swear heaven and earth that they do not belong to the Black race, they would say {My great, great grand father was Irish, Chinese, German, etc so I have nothing to do with Blacks} We are down on our knees and struggling to get up, that is why guys like Mandela, Martin Luther King, Kwame Nkrumah, Malcom "X" Marcus Garvey etc were prepared to die so that the rest of us could live in dignity and look at what majority of politicians are doing(Wine and Girls, Mansions and other luxurious things. Now having put that out there, what do you propose to do about it. Are you and your ilk going to continue bickering over irrelevant issues whiles our country continues to deteriorate or are you going to take a stand and begin doing something about it? Your eureka moment will be just another gimmick if after speaking up you do not take any concrete steps to address what you feel needs to be done. I know in you earlier Ministerial role you had the privilege of travelling around, now what did you see in all your travels that impressed you? And what have you done about moving your country to emulate it? If you can answer this question you will see that your conclusion that Ghana needs a "transformational visionary leadership" is neither here nor there. I say this because if you have a vision and set your mind to achieve it you can. And that goes for our whole country. We have become too used to others doing things for us we don't know how to do anything. In many countries, people in leadership feed on the visions of their people. Ghanaian enjoy following rather than setting the trend and our governments, with the possible exception of Nkrumah's government, have done little in instilling in a desire to take control of their own destinies. They have failed the people by way of helping them develop a "can do" attitude and going for it. Let's not always be hasty in blaming leadership because leadership is always a reflection of the people who put them there. One other thing, at our stage of development it is a luxury to be debating the nitty-gritty of who and what, we need to focus on how and when. Sadly even the supposedly educated discussion programs on various media in Ghana are so lacking of original thinking and content it makes you wonder how a people who consume such mediocrity can pull itself up from the dregs. Our intellectuals are our true failure because after all the investment we all have made in their education, we have not and continue to not derive any value from them. The "political class" and its attitudes is just a reflection of what is true about our intellectuals. So yes I do agree that we need vision but we also need people who can sell their vision to leadership. More than that leadership should make available resources to harness vision in meaningful ways that advance the country.
