Teaching is a noble profession. Materially there is not much to show for it. Satisfaction wise if dedicated , there is much. Walk into an office and some one says " that is my teacher"

  • Frank Agyena-Karikari 10 years ago

My problem with these awards is how do they arrive at such choices. When will a teacher from deprived areas like Afram Plains, teaching under trying conditions be chosen too. These choices are nothing but political.

...that is why this is a bunch manure. Just a photo Op to make the some people look and feel good. You cannot tell me that there are not other teachers greater and even more dedicated to their profession than this decorated d ...

Has the house being donated being built already if so is it at where she wishes? I see the first runner-up who travels 15km on footpath to school being given a car.

Ghanaian leaders are useless. When children are learning under trees, they are building for best teachers as awards. When a whole school has no computer, they are giving computers to individual teachers as awards. So funny.

  • Kowdjoe 10 years ago

Ghana leaders are useless indeed my dear. What criteria did they use to select this award winners. I suspect they are affiliated to NDC otherwise its hard to understand why they are the only winners. Another question is wheth ...

CONGRATULATION all of you. May God bless you for the good job done.

look at America or Europe, people are rewarded for their efforts. Other teachers will see and strife to gain that instead of running away to teach in the cities or abroad.

  • Paul Amuna 10 years ago

An excellent initiative and hopefully a good incentive for teachers to know they are valued however tough the job is and however much they feel things are not easy. Congratulations!!

  • Joe Turkey 10 years ago

Incentive is not about giving one teacher a house and/or a computer each year. Government should draw a program that improves the conditions of all teachers. If such a plan is good for soldiers and policemen, it must be even ...

The best teachers are never awarded.
Those awarded are those who apply for it.
They fake hard work because they want to win an award.
Why should one apply to be identified as the best?
There are far better teachers than t ...

    Kudos to our teachers.

Bad results would continue because these few awardees cannot teach the country's school population. Create incentives for teachers as done for nurses and the police and stop these bribe£-driven awards. FOOLS!

  • SECRETLESS GHANA 10 years ago

Donnot bribe and see whether you would get most of the awards. Oh, Ghanaians, most of you have your abode in HELL WAITING FOR YOU.

    why is everything going northerners?

  • FAR INDIA 10 years ago

So there Northerners think they can buy every institution in the country? Some teachers have taught for over 30 years and with better student performance than this so called 60% pass in class. Who is NDC fooling?
