This childish mentality of expecting supernatural powers to fix things for us is the cause of our demise. How could such educated lady enchant spiritualism as the cause of misery in reality? When are we going to pick up blame by ourselves? Does God have anything to do with not using "what we have"? In fact, it appears we're overusing our resources now that they are in the hands of illegal Chinese gluttons combing the face of Ghana in a ferocious manner. Africa will always bleed because we’re expecting God or the gods to descend and fix our problems. The most educated are the most disappointing when they invoke the spirits to come and perform their “duties”. Who are we deceiving? We will always be left behind because the God or gods that we’re counting on will never show up. Wake up Africa and don’t use what was ushered down your throat by colonialists as your source of salvation. Blame yourself for misfortunes and fix them.

½ Ghost, I damn well agree with you on this spiritual nonsense matter. Of all the problems that this country is faced with, this woman wants to tell us that she couldnt address any in any sensible manner but to invoke God to come down back to earth to come and do what he created us to for ourselves? Oh come on!

Then again the woman as well as the PPP should understand that corruption is only a reaction - a product of other governance shortcomings and that is what all our cheap politicians should seek to rectify.

The problem of Ghana was the incessant overthow of civilian governments by the military in three decades of the live of the state of Ghana after the first military overthrow in 1966 of the 1st Republic led by Dr Nkurumah and this had detoleriated the economy sigificantly up to the present time.The present Regime which is also inherent of the millitary has not got much ideas like the others, cannot be independent of its own than ideas inherited from the military Regimes which is counter productive.Now when we talking about Malasia,this country has never experienced military overthrow before and had been able to steer its programmes since it was born as a Nation in 1957 the same year Ghana was born,but it must be noteced that,this Nation had since been ruled with iron hands on one party system only with menbers belonging to this party.It can therefore be said that with the monotony of one party system, has pushed them to this presnt hight nevertheless, I dont advocate for that type of system in Ghana.What we need is to work hard to discover our pit falls to rise up and buck up to become a first class Nation to amaze our our skeptics to the benefit of our present generation,to this end, we need a civilian leader with a vision to push the Nation from the present mediocre state to a pragmatic one which will help the youth to obtain their proper position in their lives.We should not therefore blame the Almighty God for our self inflicted problems.

Something is wrong with this country. First of all , the people are hypocrites. They pretend as if everything is alright. There is too much tribalism and nepotism in politics . Corruption is killing the country. Forget about the religiousness of the people. It is all fake with fake pastors. Again , Singapore and Thailand are not even Christians. They are Buddhists and hinduist. But God is a God of all and all religions and their people being honest amongst themselves, God is blessing them three fold. God does not like hypocrites like Ghanaians. How can the whole country end up in church and then corruption as usual come Monday?

This is a country that went through 8 months holding its breathe hoping for the best as 9 judges prepared to give their verdict.

As a country we came out of this in one piece, peaceful as always. Does this sound to you like a country dumped in the gutter by God.

I can assure you Eva Lokko that a lot of other African citizens whose countries have been torn apart by war will gladly move to the gutter of country that we live in.

Yes Singapore has developed and so have most African countries which gained independence in the same decade as Ghana.

And Yes we do need leaders whose vision is the development of our motherland and not the financial improvement of their friends and family.

But I refuse to vote for a party or politician who reasons and speaks with such stupidity.

Ghana has been blessed. And it still continues to be blessed.
I for one will cherish my people for our sense of freedom, peace and respect for each other.

So shame on you for lying about a God who clearly loves Ghana so much.

The problem with most of Africa is that they tend to depend too much on the government. I think the problem lies with the people. In Singapore or South Korea, we have individuals who own operate multi national companies that enable the citizenry to be gainfully employed. These employees are then taxed to finance the infrastructure and social services. Whereas in Africa, we expect the government to give us nonexistent employment. We allow foreigners to cart away our natural resources and return they give us pittance. Most of these foreign companies carting away our resources away are individuals, not governments. Why can't the individual African do likewise. Unless we develop a new breed of African entrepreneurs, we shall always be mired in mediocrity.

One of the differences in Ghana is that government will do everything possible to destroy your investment if you are perceived to be sympathetic to the opposition. Government does not even realize that you may be providing more employment to Ghanaians than what the government is doing. That is one reason the government is blamed. Millions of dollars worth of gold left Kotoka and was intercepted in Turkey, what did the National security boss say? That it was a 419. Later people were arrested and arraigned in court for the supposed 419. That case is on life support now, dying a natural death. This is where a responsible government is expected to act.

Ghanaians are a joke. One way of reducing government expendicture in to reduce the number of paliamentarians, many of them are paid for doing nothing. By merging the districts, funds will be made available for infrastructure and social developments in every sector of the economy improving the lives of Ghanaians. Also merge Ministries to release funds for the numerous ministers and deputy ministers into the local economy. Thirdly allow the MPs, principal secretsries, head of departments and government co-operations heads hire their own places and pay for water, gas, electricity, cars and the petrol for their cars. Even in the US the congressmen use their pay to rent appartments to do their jobs and US is much richer than Ghana.
We need a leader who is bold and wise to carry out very improtant changes like those listed above and the local economy will improve dramatically.
The British left us with this old system which they don't use any more. We need to act now or keep quiet and stay in our misery with our visionless leaders.

Seriously, how did such a person with such mentality become the Director General of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation?. Lord have mercy!!!!. Anyway, 'by their actions you'll know them'. It is equally good we are hearing from all these aspiring/prospective political candidates. It gives us a lead as to how to cast our votes.
