Whats this nonsense about "..the expenditure of locally manufactured cable is a fraction of the procurement expenditure of ECG." It doesnt matter how small an amount one can steal, it is the impending moral turpitude that matters.

If the MD is the Chairman of another competitor that does not mean that he Oteng Gyasi should also go in there to protect his interests.

What all this means is that this govt is just simply a fucking mess.

Reading some of these things makes me more convinced that what we need in this country is a revolution - a proper revolution to cleanse the political environment and not the like the kindergarten one that the trokosi clown took us through and back to point zero.

Are we saying the other board member are not objective or cannot be objective enough to decide on what is fair?

For me, this has been one of the best appointments ever made by the NDC party I belong.

We don't seem to know what is good for us as a nation.

WE SEEM TO PREFER MEDIOCRITY TO COMPETENCE.

First of all, Mr AfeTorgbor you must be either very young or you are just plain daft. How many of these so-called experts have we not seen before in govt in this country? What did they prove apart from showing that they were just as corrupt and as administratively incompetent as the truck-pushers at Agbogbloshie market?

Do you know of any Board of a state institution in this country in which the Board members are objective, purposeful and efficient?

Corruption breeds corruption and a corrupt govt like the one we have in power does not appoint people to Boards to perform. They appoint them on the basis of nepotism to amass wealth so that they can share it or the benefits of it between themselves.

No matter what an expert Oteng Gyasi is and no matter how principled he may be, he definitely cannot go on a one-man crusade to change the system. It would be a foolhardy exercise to attempt to do so and I am sure he knows that.

If i were you, i would decline this particular appointment. There other boards out there you can be very useful for mother Ghana. This will be a classic case of a real conflict of interest.

Even if you dont get involved directly, your surrogates will make sure of applying all underhand tactics to give you an advantage over your competitors. The best thing will be not to accept the position in the first place, if you want to be fair, but as it seems this is your opportunity so it will never happen. Ghana for you!!
