The League Management Company (LMC) Limited in charge of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) says it has reached a television rights deal worth $34 million (N5.4 billion) with South African group of television channels, SuperSport.
The deal will run from 2015 to 2019. Under the broadcast agreement, South Africa-based Supersports will televise six matches from the Nigeria domestic league each week. The frequency of the broadcast is expected to graduate every year into the contract.

The fact of the matter is that they dont come any better than Essien. I hated him when he decided to go on a sabbatical leave. e all know that without him, there always is a big hole in the team. Quite apart from his superior footballing attributes, he is an epitome of class, calm influence and confidence that rubs on all his team mates. This is always worth half a win before a ball is even kicked. Take for instance what his introduction against Zambia brought to the team. He stabilized the midfield which begun to show some signs of nerves when the Zambians upped their game. He begun to take the sting out of the opponent's attack and when the opportunity arose, initiated attacks from the right side of midfield. He is to a large extent irreplaceable.

I think Appiah's joy is in his attitude. We had issues when he chose to go on a break but what Appiah seems to tell us is that he is a disciplined player on and off the field unlike others.

I get goose-bumps when I think about how happy the coach and the rest of the team feel to have the great Michael Essien (ME) back in the squad. He's such an inspiration and a great player. I think it'll be appropriate for the coach and GFA to consider giving the Captain's arm band to him and John Mensah since they're now back. That's how the order must be. Meanwhile we all appreciate the humbleness and humility of Asamoah Gyan for stepping up the plate in the absence of ME and Co.

Coach Appiah has been honest, by giving ME such great commendation. The guy is such a humble one and I really admire him. I'd also want to advice ME to be cautious about his knees; Ghana needs him as well as Chelsea needs him. Let's all give him the support and prayers that he needs to continue his career.

Stay bless ME and may it be well with you in the days and ahead of you.
