Manhyia Palace could not have ignored such a serious allegation regardless which source it first surfaced, print media or internet, period.

The only way to find out as to whether or not the Ashnati King did what was allegedly atributted to him was for him or his representatives to respond.

Therefore, former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Asokwa, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, is dead wrong for suggesting the Manhyia Palace should not have responded to the allegation in the first place.

I couldn't agree more with Kofi Jumah. The response of the chiefs, in my opinion created unnecessary interest in the scandal. I mean, who in his right mind would ever believe that Asantehene could bribe the supreme court judges? The allegation is far fetched and could be best described as sleazy and therefore merits no response from Asantehene.

The chiefs may have responded out of fear of Otumfuo and in their effort exacerbated the situation.

People in high authority would always encounter ridicule, unfounded accusations and all sorts of abusive allegations which should not illicit any response.

It's strange that Manhyia has no PRO who in times of crisis such as this could rise and do all the necessary controls and corrections in the public eye. The traditional rulers have their place but social and intellectual virtues also have their place. Kofi is right.

What is unfortunate about this? It's not difficult to find the writer since the reporting agencies are known. Common sense tells us that if Otumfuo fails to force the agencies to present the writer for the law to take its course, then there is truth in the allegation leveled against him. Otumfuo must bring the writer to book. If the reporting agencies fail to point out the writer, then he must sue them for deformation of character and spreading of false information. That is the only way for Otumfuo to vindicate himself. I have spoken and that is the truth.
