  Wrong because I heard Ms. Tetteh say only a few days ago that her ministry was hoping to decrease the waiting time in getting a passport from the current 4-5 weeks to just about 2 weeks. That was the reason behind opening up more regional passport centres across the country. Her message to prospective applicants was not bother travelling all the way to the Hqtrs in Accra,but to use any of the existing regionasl offices which process less than 100 applications a day.

  This long 3 months waiting period is what gives rise to the “kululu”. What do they check? Since we know all kinds of folks from West Africa and beyond, hold Ghanaian passports.

  I believe and I am sure that if all documents are in order, passport can be issued in a twinkle of an eye. The long delay will only encourage bribery/corruption.

  Foolish woman! Why should getting a passport take three months? Even in the US, one can get a passport within 48 hours upon emergency travel request and paying the applicable expedited fee.

  I went to the licensing office to get my US drivers licence converted to a Ghanaian licence, and I was issued a temporal paper licence and told to come back in three months to collect the original.
  
  I was surprised to see DLV officials still writing information in some worn-out notebooks, with only a few departments operating with computers, in this time and age.
  
  Everything is a chore in Ghana. No wonder people are going through the backdoor to get these documents.

  Every Ghanaian is qualified to hold at least a Ghanaian passport. Why should it take good three months for a person to have a passport? Passport office is the one feeding these connection men and coursing all these problems.

  Keep your eyes on Nigerians in the country because they will start giving bribes to corrupt government officials for Ghanaian passports. The Nigerians have been taken out of the US VISA LOTTERY for 2015 so they will start changing their identities for foreign passports, and Ghana is the weakest country for them to get easy passports either by forgery documents or through bribery.

Three months for a passport is a killer. It can only happen in a backward country.

Our government institutions create the environment for corruption due to their inefficiency. I sometimes think they intentionally create such situations in order to extort money from us. My experience with Land's commission leaves much to be desired. You enter an OFFICE at lands commission to put in an application for a land title certificate and you are directed someone sitting under a TREE. You pay monies that are not reflected on the receipt given you. If you decide to fight the corruption in the system by insisting that the right thing is done, you may spend eternity there.I begin to wonder what the government does with Anas' reports. I weep for Ghana.God will punish all these corrupt people.
