Sadly enough, most Ghanaians prefer so-called leaders and their cronies, (who inherited 100% of OUR rich natural resources after Osagyefo's era) who continually sell our resources to their slave masters on the cheap, to the detriment of OUR citizens.

Most Ghanaians, for some reason prefer educated illiterates with no ideals for equality and dignity in their own human existence, who go round the world with begging bowls for aid to develop Ghana......whilst we are literally sitting on riches most of the countries they go round begging can't even imagine to have.

Those are the kind of so-called leaders with no vision in the likes of JJ, K4, Mills and Mahama....most Ghanaians prefer. What a shame!

Despite Nkrumah's faults he was a GENIUS. We must realize that even the most loved American President, Clinton had faults, for which he was forgiven and is still loved very much by his people for his work in growing the economy.

It was Nkrumah who introduced dictatorship and one-party state into Africa which has caused and is still causing incalculable harm in the continent. Go to Zimbabwe, Gambia, Uganda and many places.

Lets take for example, few industries/ projects that took place when the population of Ghana was about 6 million. It is those same company that the current population of over 26 million depend upon. I never saw Kwame Nkrumah but reading five of his books tells you much about him. Who ever doubts him could find ''CONSCIENCISM'' just for a start if and only if such a ready would even understand his philosophical thoughts. Let me just stop here; I may end up writing thesis. Its about time some Ghanaians stopped tribalistic, nonsensical politics to face common facts and think about how to improve the lives of the people. Who doesn't know that instead of using the state power he acquired by misleading the electorate with communist tactics of dissemination of concocted lies against his opponentsfor the welfare of the people, Nkrumah resorted to divide and rule by setting one tribe against the other. His propaganda machine always painted any opposition and dissenting view as tribalism. You can continue to imbibe his propagandist self-selving books like consciencism like a bible or koran. But some of us who lived and suffered under him know that he was not the messiah that he blasphemously claimed to be. We saw with our own eyes that most of his industries in the nature of the unrealistic communistic style mismanaged state enterprises had collapsed by the time of his fortunate overthrow. It took the managerial acumen of the new regime to establish the GIHOC to resuscitate the viable ones until the PNDC collapsed most of them. Truth, like the cork, can never be submerged under water; just as the truth that it was his own ministers and party men like Adamafio, Ako-Adjei and Kofi Crabbe etc, who threw bombs at him, not the opposition!

Nkrumah would have done best if he had not been overambitious and intolerant of opposition. Samia, your father did good but could have done better. Nkrumah was afraid of his own shadow, trusted nobody to the extent that he had no vice president. How many Ghanaians will want to live in Cuba or North Korea. Every developed nation on earth got to the developed nation status through the abuse and misuse of human beings, Some did it through slavery of the living souls from other nations while others engaged in worse human treatment because of the notion of racial superiority and yes others like Nkrumah did not think Ghana was ready to continue the path that enabled the slave masters to have a hold on Ghana. There are those of you who have consistently claimed to know abuses by and under the Nkrumah regime but have been hypocritical every step of the way telling why Nkrumah took some of those actions. Nkrumah did what many think was ahead of his years and when those same steps are now taken by leaders in the civilized nations of the world to curb terrorism, citizens of those country have come to see the need for government actions of monitoring and clamping down on suspects even to the extent of scaling back liberties enshrined in their respective constitutions.
Remember that the America of today led by its founding fathers was labeled terrorist by the ruling Kings in England. You Leslie and others adore UK and other nations including Brazil (whose European descendants have a hold on the progress of its black ethnic minority), their living standards and society but have the nerve to call Nkrumah out for using the less than evil tactics of the colonial masters. Could you tell me the names of the thousands who died in Nsawam and I will give you the number of Africans who died during the scramble for Africa's slaves. Look here, Leslie Nkrumah saved Ghana from living under the current safety conditions in Nigeria where Bokka Harem is engaged in the tactics employed by the forefathers of the NPP. In the end there has been more harm done across Ghana with the stealing and mismanagement of Ghana's assets since the 1966 coup. You and your kind will accept the notion of placing street criminals in prison for life for murdering one person but you are one who will allow white color thieves the likes of Kufour, J.J Rawlings and all the leaders since 1966 whose actions and inactions lead to high infant mortality rates, shorter life span, living in filthy conditions and the rampant thievery and crime that slowly kills many Ghanaians each year. Getting to the end of Nkrumah's reign, there was alot of hardship but that was as a result of sabotage from both external and internal agents. Critical thinking is a must. It's not an option.

Hell NO! Osagyefo is nobody's stooge. He had the guts and vision to live his life as HE wanted. Not as anyother slave master wanted. And because of that I respect him a lot!

Whether you lived at his time or not, there is a lot of positive history the world have learnt from and gracefully respect Osagyefo for. Your views are just that of those who thought they could use him for their own personal benefits, hence the coup-plotters with their agents.

Yes! Nkrumah was left millions at the time. Guess what?
He used YOUR money (not the white man's money) to do the following:

-building of the Harbour and new township of Tema
- the gigantic hydroelectric Volta Dam at Akosombo and a progressive housing scheme are some of the monuments.
- his government set up many public corporations and state institutions to cater for the industrial and agricultural needs of the country.
- It was under Nkrumah that the high number of social services, such as schools, hospitals and roads in Ghana were established.
- Ghana became the first country in Africa to provide FREE education and medical care for her people (the coup-plotters were using that in their campaign manifesto of 2012 - how wise? Ask yourself)).
- Two more universities, one at Cape Coast and the other in Kumasi were established to bring the total number of universities to three.
- The well-planned network of roads, an international airport in Accra and one of the highest standard of living in Africa, plus the international airlines (Ghana Airways), shipping line - the Black Star Line.
- The Tema Motorway
- Free school feeding programs (hijacked by the coup-plotters for their 2012 elections). Do you get that?
- suppressed sectionalism and tribalism in Ghana and brought a sense of national unity, by introducing boarding schools of togetherness. (That has all been destroyed by the NDC and NPP USELESS PARTIES). Do you get it?
- He promoted AFRICAN UNITY for your own good as you and your fellow people are not respected in this day and age, anywhere in the world. He tried to help you know who you are and what you are worth. Do you get it? I hope so. Or you prefer the Shakespeare crap you are being fed in school?
- He employed our citizens from different tribes into his government.
Can you compare that to now? The TRIBALISM prevailing in Ghana?

Do I need to go on about his achievements?.......Please go research.

Yes! He inherited a lot and he did a LOT with it! But guess what? He also left behind 100% of all OUR rich natural resources which those who came after him have squandered till this date! Do you get it? I guess not.....

All government enterprises both profitable and non-profitable should be divested to the private sector through transparent bidding or on the Ghana stock exchange. Individual private people can do better than the government be it democratic or undemocratic. Nkrumah's socialist ideas has outlived its potential and effectiveness.

Some people would not spend a pesewa, a penny nor a cent to even buy a book let alone a research rather rely on here-says.They refuse to see even if the truth is envisaged by overwhelming evidence. Lets take for example, few industries/ projects that took place when the population of Ghana was about 6 million. It is those same company that the current population of over 26 million depend upon. I never saw Kwame Nkrumah but reading five of his books tells you much about him. Who ever doubts him could find ''CONSCIENCISM'' just for a start if and only if such a reader would even understand his philosophical thoughts. Let me just stop here; I may end up writing thesis. Its about time some Ghanaians stopped tribalistic, nonsensical politics to face common facts and think about how to improve the lives of the people. The one party system has been rightly jettisoned, the centrally planned economy and state enterprises have given way to the natural free enterprise, immediate unity government of Africa could not overtake the gradual integrationist approach, Armed struggle against South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia failed, it was dialogue that prevailed. Not a single of the principles of Nkrumahism worked or prevailed. Nkrumah's godfathers (the Russians) themselves acknowledge that it was idealistic and unworkable! The self-deception must stop. For how long shall we continue to do ourselves the disservice of misleading our children and grandchildren?

We respect Kwame Nkrumah alias Kofi Francis Nwiah as one of the many leaders in the fight for Ghana's freedom from colonialism. However, his record as a leader and dictator, living in fear and hitherto imprisoning anyone who dare challenge or criticize him leaves a big taint on his impact in Ghana and Africa as a whole.
Nkrumah "show boy" was not a saint and really had serious insecurities. Clearly not our choice for being a beacon for Africa.Several suffered under his rule. I remember acute shortages and having to eat rock hard "Russian bread" I remember him riding through town looking elegant and making jest of the plight of the poor, by stating that "if the people needed milk, he would connect all the pipes in Ghana to be filled with milk for everyone". I recall soldiers going from house to house searching for weapons, guns after Kulungugu. I also recall the curfews imposed by Nkrumah "showboy". What type of loving leader would heap such suffering on his own people whilst the Afro Gbedemah and the rest lived in luxury? We are not stuck to the past. We as a nation has to get beyond Nkrumah and his follies and build a better Ghana for all. A Ghana where corruption will be a thing of the past and Galamsey will be forgotten . Roads will be built linking all of Ghana, railroads, clinics, hospitals, public toilets, and yes schools and industry in every hamlet and village.
Samia, where were you during the lean years?. Which Ghanaian language do you speak? What gives you the right to generalize for Africa as to the type of ideals it needs. Nkrumah's ideals are archaic and Africa is moving forward. They said Nkrumah never dies? He is dead. Died in Europe somewhere or Conakry. I don't know and frankly don't care. Get a life. Stop Galamsey. Speak against Galamsey. Ask your Italian husband to join forces with the grassroots organization and build public toilets in Nkroful, schools, clinics, roads etc. in Nkroful and Nzima land. We have become selfish to the extent that everybody in the government is more concerned about what money he or she can make while in office than what name he would leave behind when he is not in government. Establishment of more private businesses would help put us on the right path.Most governmental establishments could not function due to corruption embedded in the society. People in government could advise private sector managers and directors but when you are in government where does your advice come from. Millionaires are are in the private sector and not in government so the need to encourage such practices. You stand a good chance if you unite with the other smaller parties to challenge the two major parties. if "SIKAMAN" should progress as planned. Read about ancient Ghana and see if we are not in the same route to destruction as they did.

History tells us that your father was the first president of Ghana, but this does not mean he get our independence for us. He came to meet a planed route for independence. Every thing was planed, even the date Ghana was to get her independence.
So please as much as we love Nkrumah, we should also tell the truth with regard to Gh's independence.
