What is needful in Ghana is leaders who are honest and hard working.
What we have now are leaders who are incompetent and corrupt.
We lack development progress because of the above.

THIS IS A GREAT NATIONAL DEBATE AND BRAINS ARE NEEDED ON BOARD. WE WILL NEVER SUCCEED AS A NATION AS LONG AS WE START A DEBATE ON AN ELECTION WHICH IS FOU YEARS AWAY. GH. IS NOW JUST ABOUT ELECTIONS AND NOT DEVELOPMENT. CAN WE GET THE POLITICIANS TO DEFEND THEIR ACTIONS PROFESSIONALLY? WE NEED JUST COMPETENCE AND NOT SQUARED PEGS IN ROUND HOLE TO OVERCOME. WE NEED A LEADER WHO WILL WORK MORE THAN LOOK FOR A SECOND TERM.

It is always right for the opposition to sabotage the govt for stealing in the name of judgement debt, akomfem project, GYEEDA, etc. Nobody will sabotage you if you did the right thing. We don't want a situation when the opposition like the NDC tried to sabotage the introduction of NHIS by boycotting the debate in parliament.

We are so blind and feverishly, clamored to our party to the extent that anything outside that scope, is absolutely, foolish. Nations do not develop with that mindset. Also, we are dishonest and disrespect the rule of law. There are laws in Ghana and do we respect them? If no, why and who should come and enforce such laws? Individually, we are like a raging river that is hell bound to destroy anything in its path. Yes, that is Ghana and Ghanaians. We can talk and do whatever but in the end, we should all remember that our leaders know the sort of people they are leading and will not hesitate to show us our negative side only to us because that is what we elect them to do.

Given his own past, John Mahama can never be expected to do anything better that his predecessors. In fact, the man himself is a thief. He belongs to the club of those who enrich themselves at post.

Joe, I wouldn't call him a thief because he is my president. But I share your sentiments as we all know Mr Mahama only became rich through politics. He has never in his life created his own job but earned every cedi he has through politics. It is very sad that most Ghanaians are so gullible that they prefer non-achievers.

We need more of such persuasions to push for massive overhaul of the Public Sector. It is apparent that schemes used to dupe us are passed on from Civil Servants who have the experience to navigate around immediate detection to new bosses. They begin by 'playing Cupid' to the new bosses who see those acts as unconditional loyalty from the subordinates, and then the various schemes are steadily introduced to the bosses as if they are airtight legitimate means to fill the pockets of these bosses. So, from one Administration to the other, Ministers, Directors and other heads of Institutions are led to follow the same paths to steal from the National Coffers.
Top Civil Servants, especially at the Ministries all ought to be vetted to explain the sources of their inordinate Wealth.
We have yet to see full disclosures of Assets declaration required by Law of our Political Appointees and Elected Leaders. How then do we cap their corruption?
John Mahama has the opportunity to affirm the long existing belief that our brethren from the North are exceptionally honest and dependable and more trustworthy than us Southerners who brag and deplorably often disparage the Northerners with insulting name-calling. Let the President affirm by his deeds that the North has much to teach us all in managing our Wealth. I most reluctantly choose this line of persuasion because it sounds too ethnocentric and likely to fan the already flaring ethnic political discord in our Media. But for once, I believe this would be a good attempt to silence those from the South who persist in portraying the President and Dr. Bawumia as less worthy to be our President because of where they hail from. The good stereotypical attributes must be noted and emphasized, if we can't stop stereotyping.
Preferably, pure meritorious appointments need to be made to all our posts in the service of the Nation. May The Lord help us all.
Long Live Ghana!!!
