I am most honoured to be the first to lead the commentaries on this very topic. It is most an usual for me to have this opportunity. I have read this story a couple of hours ago. Mentioned it to a friend, a vitriolic commentator on this platform and a serial caller. I checked again the article again, read it the second time and now I have decided to take up the honour to comment. What have I to say? Simply, I am surprised! Surprised that even the State sponsored commentators/communicators did not find anything good about a 2000 Megawatts project right in their World Bank, even it is a dream, what a fortune it would make them in 2016! As for the opposition generally, they must be the first to check on the veracity of the claims by the promoters and Government to see that either way the promoters to live up to the rules and Government do not frustrate such a huge project unduly! But what do we see? NONCHALANCE!!! On both parts because it is the benefit of the common Ghanaian. On my humble part I pray for the Promoters, the Consultants, The Investors and The Contractors. May the Almighty Allah see this project through. Ghana would not be the same afterwards. Ketu wake up! Don't just be the electoral World Bank for nothing. You rightly deserve this. Ketu Be Heard Now!!

Kwame Antwi/Kwesi Nyante, l have to come again as read your comment on this proposal. read my comment too. now back to the issue. l am convinced that your you have great desires for this country of ours. so do l. and you have said right by stating your surprise at absence of comments coming from usual quarters and persons. one reason may clear. the actors in this proposal are not the usual noise-only politicians. so it does not make sense to comment on it. let us pray that sooner than latter, individuals, private corporations, other than politicians and the state, would lead the development agenda of our nation and districts.

Let's hope all goes well with this project because Ghana needs power. More power to the grid means more foreign exchange into the country.
I hope kpp will get all the assistance they need from the GoG

KPP will face competition in the market and consumers will have freedom to choose their power supplier.
The KPP is ambitious but it must meet the expectations of consumers and atakeholders.

mr. agbleze, even though this is commendable, l also wish to warn not deceive me and other ghanaians the same way as some individuals and groups came into the news with promises of one giant economic business or the other, only to fissile out and never to hear from them again. if you know you and your colleagues have nothing to offer, especially on ketu soil, then dont come and whip up our appetite for expectations. l always pray for many breakthrough development for our local lands, and as a native, it is my prayer that you sacrifice all you have so that this project sees the light of the day. amen, and God bless you.

Congrats to the promoters!
This is indeed a bold project but doable, as the market is far greater than present supply of electricity for the the sub-region. Both Togo and Benin alone would be more than happy to buy up all the power generated, with Lagos, Oyo and Ogun States also begging to be supply some! It is a cash cow for the investors provided everything jell into place.
1. Constant supply of gas to run it.
2. Consumers, esp. the Electricity Boards, paying for what they consumed. The example of millions owed to Asogli, on top of the unreliable gas supply hampering their operations is a lesson to all.
Provided those two main conditions are met, it is smooth sailing for the venture.
For "local content and ownership" to be made reality and some rain also falling on the people of the district and beyond in Ghana, I'd like to suggest that such projects reserve some small % of the capital to be subscribed by the locals, the district assemblies and interested Ghanaians. This would boost the habit to save and invest in the country when others see how some are benefiting, and possibly taking early retirement to enjoy their lives small. Working until one drops dead is not good for the leisure industry.
