There is no smoke without fire , many times our chiefs for 30 pieces of silver have betrayed the interests of the people . they not only take money but also actively promote the most toxic of ideas against the welfare of the people . We have had an ayigbe/pepeni revolution and now the wind changes and the Akan revolution will come to be whether through the ballot box or by war it will come to pass . let these pepeni and ayigbe feel what its like to see their women stripped naked and whipped in the streets by our frisky boys , let them see what its like for both the innocent and guilty without discrimination be accused corruption and thrown in jail , let them see what its like to have their eminent men manhandled and tortured so that a few years later they all die of stroke , heart attaches and stress, let them see what is like to watch their sons and daughters have to travel the 7 seas just to find a better future as at home pepeni and ayigbe revolutionaries will steal their businesses or deny them the chance . yes we now not only polarize but radicalize since liberals like mills are killed and nana rejected ,it is time for fearless righteous Akans like ken agyapong , ursula and sir john to be flag bearers . ndc you just continue your corrupt ways but soon we will have you , your wives , children , girlfriends pay the a very dear price for your greed . keep on bribing these chiefs we have the family heads and clans on our side , long live the republic of Akan

Micheal, you are on the money. I have always maintained that SNITT is a MAFIA organization. The politicians are in bed with them! Mind you readers, I said politicians and any political party. they are all the same after all. No party in power will fight SNITTbecause that's where they all dip their dirty hands and spend our hard earned sweat. If readers could remember, Ghana international airlines was not doing well. It was SNITT money that was used to keep it afloat until it finally collapsed. As Ghanaians we should let the politicians have the feeling that we will not die for them. They saw it clearly after the Supreme court hearing. If the NDC had lost, Ghana would have remained the same. Please keep monitoring the electoral process. The number of voters is reducing. People have realised that their lives don't change after elections. It is only party faithfuls who feel the change in their lives.
Workers should pressure parlaiment to pass a law which will give the worker the option to choose if his/her employer should deduct SNITT contributions. Dear readers, please check the catchword CONTRIBUTIONS, which tells us that WE are CONTRIBUTING towards our FUTURE!!! So if we were to vote as to if there should be deductions, there will be chaos in SNITT. IT WILL COLLAPSE! Period. And I know that time will come. Victor M. Hugo said "No Army Can Stop an Idea whose time Has Come"

Nicholas, I know people who have committed suicide just because delayed and kept tossing them up and down till they could not stand it any longer. You know they kept borrowing and kept promising their debtors that everything will be settled. So when they couldn't see any light at the end of the tunnel they gave up both hope and life. Nicholas, I know you know many Ghanians who were SNITT contributors who have left Ghana for greener pastures. Please check. Their contributions are locked up with SNITT, which will never be claimed. Please check the percentage of Ghanaians whose dependants have collected monies from SNITT.

The problem of Act 766 is that it is outdated law and does not reflect the realities of doing business in Ghana today. At the time that Act 766 was signed , wages were too low hence the need to shore up workers benefits by making employers liable. Now, wages in Ghana are much higher and employers are suffering even to pay the basic wage.
My solution to non payment of employers SS liability (contributions) is that , employers contribution ought to be cut by halve. If the rate of employers liability is still 12.5% in Ghana, then the most realistic rate ought to be just 5% plus employee contribution of 5% which equals 10% so as to make it easier to pay.
Ghana needs the 1=1 one is to one approach regarding social security contribution so as make the cost of doing business in Ghana low. Government ought to reduce taxes to bring the cost of doing business down in Ghana and the first block to chop is the social security. Employers contribution is just a benefit and not a wage. President Mahama, PLEASE CHANGE THIS LAW. CHANGE ACT 766 and make it realistic to current economic conditions.
The cost of doing genuine business in Ghana is way too expensive therefore, govt. ought to cut taxes to make Ghana's economy business friendly. Employers social security contributions is way too high. Government should cut taxes so as draw more investments to Ghana to stimulate the economy. Government agencies shouldn't just be too happy to prosecute defaulting employers. Mind you if entreprenuers decide not to invest their capital anymore by diversifying their portfoling, which they can easily do, there will be no employment or very little jobs in Ghana.
If an entreprenuer chooses to invest their excess liquidity in govt. treasury bills rather than setting up factories and just relaxes to collect interest at the end of the year, there wouldn't be jobs at all. Without jobs , no wages and without wages no social security contributions whatsoever.
Government, cut taxes to stimulate growth. Reduce employers social security contributions to 5% if the rate is still 12.5%.
I rest my case. Guys I welcome your critisms or support.

And this fraudster wanted to become president of Ghana? He would have caused Ghanaians workers to suffer by cheating and neglect, just as he's done to those that his company employs. Ghanaians should see this man case and reflect and relate it to their current situation; these cheats will mount the podium to tell everyone that he's the winner, only for citizens to realise that it's all lies and fraud. It's time to reason up, citizens of Sikaman, Ghana. Don't listen to those under whose leadership has caused you and your families economic hardship.
The news as you've heard it, is a clear manifestation of the canker and thievery that makes a Ghana sink deep into economic abyss. Take Agudey's case as an example of cheating and thievery in govt. which could make people suffer.

How much benefit does Ghanaian retirees get for their long years of their blood and sweat toiling for the country compared to the end of service rip offs the politicians are perpetrating on Ghanaians? That is GHc4,500 for 45yrs, which is worthless! I wonder how Ghanaian retirees manage to make ends meet after they've been exploited and used by govt. for many years. Many of them cannot afford to build decent homes during and after their toil for mother Ghana. It's a shame.
Ex-Prez. Kuffour and his NPP govt. tried to introduce affordable housing scheme for workers, esp. farmers; the NDC started shouting from roof tops accusing Kuffour of deceit and corruption.
When they [NDC] took over, from NPP, they attempted to dupe Ghanaians dry to the bone with their plan which was abrogated mid-way. People should see what's happening to them right now and determine whether things are better under the NDC. Which party would they prefer to lead them to the land of promises? The SSNIT thing is another good example.
This piece doesn't intend to link all the problems to the NDC. But it's also a fact that the "Sasabonsam" party has been part of the problems and sufferings of Ghanaians because they've used force and election fraud to foist their will on Ghanaians even when it's all clear that they cannot do "kotoo" for Ghanaians. The NDC better give way to Nana Akufo-Addo and his team of knowledgeable team to steer Ghana unto paths of prosperity.
It's only the NPP which can shape up or solve this SSNIT canker. Ghanaian workers deserve better than what they're experiencing right now.

In the first place, how does the party name of CPP come to play in his business affairs.
Do you know that one of the Conventions in Accounting,"The Business Entity Concept " implies that the Owner of a business is not the same as the business and therefore is a Separate entity from the business. Therefore, any legal Case against him is his private matter and has nothing to do with his business.Likewise any legal Case against his business is a problem of the business not his person. So,what had the party name of CPP got to do with his business case.
Having said that,a jail term is not the answer to the case. For,if I'm a business man owing SSNIT or IRA and you put me to jail, then, you 're perhaps going to jail me for life, because I would never pay for the ff reason:
1.I have to work to be able to pay part of the arrears together with the monthly Current.
To put the man in jail is not the best option.
I suspect the man is an Equity Share holder.
Since the Director or Directors is/are responsible in this case, alternative legal actions could have been used instead of a jail term.
1.Freeze his Bank account.or get a standing order authorising the bank to pay specific amount to SSNIT each week/bi weekly etc.
2.Seize his Vehicle or anyother Assets if any, with the view to Auction if he failed to make acceptable arrangements to pay.
3.If he has a genuine proof of Debtors in good
standing, accept post dated Checks. Each bounced Check carried a minimum of 3 months in jail. And that is the only period in which times he could be put in jail.Anyway.
