Since all of these thing all affect the rate of investment in the country, it only makes sense that we can also blame the decline in investment on the election petition... oh I also forgot, Global warming was caused by the election petition.

The case which was taken to court gave the investors the assurance that if there should be any dispute regarding their investment in the country they can go to court for it to be rectified. What the SC did rather is going to scare investors away because they would not have faith in the justice system of Ghana. Think about that and try and create jobs in the country, than depending on foriegn investors.

Any minister who tells you that investment from outside will improve the conditions of Ghanaians is MISLEADING YOU. You'd be poorer in the end. Foreign investors since independence have always scoured all the profit on offer from the exploitation of our resources, ratained it abroad for the benefit of people and economies inside Europe. There are indigenious solution to our problems through intensive research, practicalizing the knowledge in the minds of the pool of human recources this country has, taking to laws and its enforcement and support for creativity and even we know necessity is the mother of all invention so why are we not on that path, putting our strengh together instead of mingling with for greedy investors

Mr minister, shame on you. The campaign and elections are over. Get over it and find solutions to the problems in Ghana. You are always looking for excuses. Why investors are hesitant to invest in Ghana are the following. Uninterrupted electricity is the key to any economic activity that Ghana cannot promise any investor, ok. Corruption, like giving $51 million to cronies while basic infrastructure are lacking. Unecessary high cost of doing business because of corruption. Sure, one can say there is corruption every where but when you ask donor countries to finance your budget while you have over 100 ministers including deputies and special assistants who have no clue about how to govern. Listen, folks who have never supervised any worker in their lifes appointed ministers and deputies who in his right mind will invest in such countries like Ghana. It does not matter what party is in power as long as politicians are not held accountable for their actions or inactions. No one holds anybody responsible for anything in Ghana, period.

Critically, it's very clear that, FDI has slowed down and it's not farfetched to ascertain the cause of such a situation.
Indeed, it is very clear to the astute investor both local and foreign that, there are very important drivers of investment being peace, stability, and security, however, of these 3 enumerated above, the most important by far, is the issue of the ROI ie the return on investment and the savvy investor would most certainly look out for the most significant factors that would create the necessary environment for them to reap their investment, and this brings to the fore, the issue of gov't policy, infrastructure development and capacity as well as the institutional backbone to drive their investment vis-à-vis it's recoupment and profit margins and also, how local investors are faring in the country. And this essentially is the crux of the matter. Although the MOTI minister is quick to point out that stability, peace and security are major investment drivers, he conveniently failed to raise the issue which is by far the most important, which is the infrastructural capacity to drive this investment and the profitability of the investment vehicle of the local and would be foreign investor. The NDC gov't has done absolutely nothing to improve on the capacity of the country to attract the needed investment profile with the core mandate being a win-win situation for the country as well as the investor. Infact, local investors have actually seen a deficit and a decline in their fortunes under this NDC administration as compared to the past decade and this is a fact, extremely poignant and telling when the minister's statement is put in the right context. It's quite apparent and very obvious arguably to the astute and keen mind, that, the failed policies as well the numerous challenges that has been occasioned by the gross ineptitude and crass incompetence has by far played a major, if not the most major factor in the country's dwindling fortunes with respect to FDI. Ghana has retrogressed exponentially under this NDC administration from 2009 till present and it doesn't take a soothsayer or an oracle to lay these facts bare. The NDC gov't has wasted resources that should have tailored guided any serious gov't's policy direction to drive and ramp up meaningful and well structured infrastructural and institutional capability, to address the myriad of problems militating against first and foremost the local investor, whose ability to post some good returns on their investment is a major driving force for the foreign investor since most a foreign investor normally would go into partnership with a local strategic investor, and Ghana is the worst for it. The Minister's statement clearly doesn't stand the text of serious scrutiny and it is, actually one of the reasons why the country is retrogressing, with people in authority who would want to massage the truth for their own petty and parochial political interests.
