There is no deception in these seedings. According to the matches played, including AFCON tournaments, friendly, and qualifying matches, fropm three years ago till today, this is exactly how each team is to be ranked. Have you forgotten how Cape Verde was in second position to us during the last past three year qualifiers? Have you forgotten so soon how well they played during the past two AFCON tournaments? Things are changing.
These teams you mentioned are not that tough as the top seeding teams. They may have been years ago but not anymore. Cameroon is not as great as we knew them to be. Cameroon is still using its old players hoping something good could come out of that. Most teams are blending the young with the old. For Cameroon, they have not head of it yet. It will back fire on them.
Senegal may have teeth but cannot bite. Nothing has changed from their 4 years ago squad. The game, though, has changed. Therefore, they have a long way to go.
Egypt has a mixed of experience and youth like we do. However, I thing we have more experiened youth players than they do. This would be to our advantage when Egypt is paired with us.

Joe Tex if you will have the time to check the time I posted my commented, you will realized that the fifa rankings for this month wasn't posted. I visited there severally and even it was there I discovered that Cape Verde has been demoted to the second position in their group. Even this article GFA posted at Ghanafa.org, indicated the same facts as Cape Verde was included in the seedings. This article was also posted on Ghanaweb.com here with the same facts. Why do you think the three of us, I mean myself, Ghanafa.org and Ghanaweb.com posted the same facts. Have you asked yourself that question? Don't tell me what you have no clue happened before the changes were made.
Here is one truth you didn't know. This particular article you commented on, initially, did have the Cape Verde sanctioned information added. They did so when they too found out later from fifa.com. Even some of us were giving that information before I guess they went there and saw it and then included it.
Where were you when all these were going on in here? Check the time before you open your mouth. When was the last time you saw a false information given to you by me? I want the date and that comment posted in here for all to witness.
Come again.

I think awarding 3goals can affect the other teams within the group, who hasnt breached any rules and regulations. Why should any other team within a group suffer bcos some other team breached a rule.
Secondly, i also feel like opposition teams should ensure that all players within a given team are eligible to play the game, not after the game has been played, and lost. If you can figure out why a player shouldnt have played in a game, then it shouldnt be hard to figure out why the should not be on the team list before the game had begun. this is complete BULLSH!T.... and it is jus a sign of cowardness... this likens zambia's action against sudan.

Many of us here have called for the elimination of this rule by FIFA.
Nyantakyi must assert his role in FIFA by pushing for its statutes to be rid of this nonsense.
The whole policy is downright stupid.
FIFA should fine the guilty teams, or suspend them from participating in, say, 1 future FIFA-organised competition, instead of putting innocent teams at risk.
2. African managers must keep proper records of their carded players and know when to play them or to fold them.
Opposing teams will not do it for you if don't keep your own tracks.
Everybody wants to advance; they'll rather nail you AFTER your goof-up than alert you in advance.

I agree with you diamond. This rule is nonsensical and will be exploited by non performing teams all the time. The best thing will be to let the offender forfeit the point but dont award it to the losing team either. In such a case it doesnt affect the innocent teams in the group. You use an unqualified player against me.You win the match meaning i lost the match;you get punished by forfeiting the 3 points and i who lost the match gets nothing. This will ensure that other team dont get affected as in the example of ghana being affected for the sins of sudan. It will also ensure that teams concentrate on winning no matter what bcos you will realize that with or without an unqualified player you do not get points if you lose the game. This is the best way forward. We need strong representation at the WC so teams must go there on merit not boardroom points. In the end teams like szambia, tunisia and south africa would be making it to the wc not on merit but cos of boardroom points.

Why do you think Spain is always at the top, it is because they take every game seriously and they prepare very well before they put their reputation at stake. AA should learn to be his own man, if a game does not seem to be right, he must REFUSE to play. (ARTICLE FROM FIFA WEBSITE IT IS TRUE )
By means of a telephone conference, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee has today taken a decision to sanction the Cape Verdean Football Association (FCF) for fielding an ineligible player in the preliminary competition match for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ between Tunisia and the Cape Verde Islands on 7 September 2013.
The match has been declared to be forfeited and awarded 3-0 in favour of Tunisia, meaning that the Cape Verde Islands will not progress to round three of the FIFA World Cup™ African zone qualifiers having dropped to second place in Group B with nine points while Tunisia finish first with 14 points and will now advance.
The FCF has also received a fine of CHF 6,000 after the FIFA Disciplinary Committee considered the FCF liable for having breached art. 55 par. 1 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code and art. 8 of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil Regulations.
The sanction relates to the Cape Verde player Fernando Varela failing to serve the full four-match suspension imposed on him after receiving a red card for unsporting conduct towards a match official during a FIFA World Cup™ qualifier on 24 March 2013.
The draw for round three of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in the African zone will be conducted next Monday, 16 September. The five best-placed sides in the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, which will be released today following the outcome of this disciplinary case, will be seeded in the draw.

If you have a little knowledge of the game, you would have checked fifa rankings at the time I posted my comment and the time fifa posted the latest rankings before you even say a word against me on this issue. The time differences alone should give you the hint whether I was wrong or right of what I posted.
Here, allow me to come to your aid. At 10:32am, I posted my comment. Go to fifa.com and check that on September 12, 2013, at even 12pm, not the 10am I posted my information, Burkina Faso and Tunisia, which nation was ranked higher than the other. This will let you know that I was right.
In case you have no clue of how to read the fifa rankings and also didn't know what was going on, open up your mouth and I will be glad to feed you based on the facts.
From August 8th 2013, which was last month, the ranking was posted. At that time, Burkina Faso was ahead of Tunisia. This means if there was any competition between these two nations' seedings, Burkina Faso should have came first before Tunisia. Have you got it up to this point? I'm sure you do.
Now, looking at the new rankings, if you familiar with the system and the calculation of the rankings, you would have known, and it is stated there, that Tunisia has been uplifted or raised by 7 positions in the rankings; whilst Burkina Faso dropped by 3 positions. Due to this fact, Tunisia has now been included in the top seeding Burkina Faso dropped to the lower seeding.
Here is how you can find out, and please learn something from it.
Go to fifa.com
On your right hand side, click on the Ranking Table
On your left side you will see all the confederations there, click on CAF. This will show you the updated rankings.
After you are done going through them, immediately beneath CAF, you will see PREVIOUS (AUGUST 2013), hit on that. This also indicates the last month's ranking table before it was changed yesterday after 2pm in Germany Time. This should help you in solving your own problem.
Now tell me, JOE TEX, what misleading are you talking about? From Saturday, I started posting the information of the seedings, if you wanted to know the truth in my information, you would have double checked it and have known that all what I posted there were right on the spot.
Therefore, with your statements, I "DARE" YOU to go back to fifa rankings dated September 12th 2013, at 12pm. and bring the facts to support your argument. If you can't do that to support your comment but just want to dent my image, then shame unto you.
Next time when you read any comment and want to argue on it, check the time first before you proceed.
I rest my case.

Now you are trying to dodge Rasheed's question. The real questions are "what was there after the seedings were published"; when was it "changed". Then you claimed Burkina has been dropped 3 points suggesting you based you info on previous ranking. Yet you tell us clearly the "seedings have been published." So you were not right. You Wrong.

You are DEAD wrong about Egypt. I did watch their matches and that team is extremely concentrated on making it to the World Cup and I believe they will. That coach Bob Bradley has got them into focus mode. Dont forget they had Guinea and Zimbabwe in their group, which are not easy teams, beatable but not easy. So over confidence is not necessary. You don't hate me? Are you certain of that? I can see hatred all over your comments attached to mine. You don't hate me, but want to dent my image? It is easy, bro, to see because it is all over your comments. Let me give you an example so that you could compare your comments to others on this issue.
Read Rasheed's comments attached to mine. Compare yours to his and you will see the difference. You will see when one is drawing your attention to a change or changes and when one is being vindictive.
" I am concerned you are making too much noise." Joe Tex tries to shut one down.
Massa, I'm making too much noise, you say. All I wrote were three comments and I left. I came back and there were lots of comments attached to mine. Were those three comments initially made was the reason why you telling me I'm making too much noise? By the way, if I'm making too much noise to you, why can't you ignore my comments? Did I force you to read my comments? You are just asking for trouble period and nothing else and I don't have time for such people like you.
"The problem is there are no truths in your so-called predictions and statements." Joe Tex stated.
Haba, this tells me you were not reasoning. You said PREDICTIONS. Are predictions facts? Not every time a prediction will come to pass? One could predict his first 11 players for the Black Stars in a pending match. Contrary, the coach may pick some of the players predicted by that person and may leave some. Would that be classified as the person telling the truth or not? Your thinking in this case is mixing apples with oranges. When one predicted, what he is saying is that if he were in the shoes of the coach, this and that and that is what he would have done. That is all and since that person is not the coach, there is no truth in his predictions. You predict when it comes it comes, and when it doesn't so bit it.
Now, truth in mine statements you pointed put. Can you please post some for us to support your story? I will be waiting.
" I suspect you just want to show off." Joe Tex Commented.
Show off, to whom? Tell me, and what will I get from doing that? When you come here and post your comments, do you do so with the intention of showing off because that is not my "cheese cake". If that is your aim of visiting the forum, then your priorities are wrong.
Let me tell you the reason why I have been on this forum for ages now.
1. Increase of Knowledge: I learn from those who know the game more than I do. Let’s suppose you are new in your field of profession. You have just entered your field and feel like you are flapping around like a fish out of water trying to make sense of everything. You know you have a lot to learn but no one is there to help. This is the place to come. I get more information on this beautiful game in here than what others may offer me out there. Here is why people ask the same questions I have and others answer them.
2. Networking Opportunities: You may never know who is here to help you in your business or something else.
3. Gain Ideas: I gain ideas from what I read from others in here. I keep my eye open for any questions that people are asking, hot debates happening and anything else that I think will be a good topic for my benefit.
4. Building of Relationships: Do you know how many friends I have just through this forum? I wouldn't have known Turbulence, a man whom I took the mantel from, a man who once told me to include facts into my comments; POW, my troublesome man; Sarsko, my good father and mentor; Mr. N, the no nonsense; Diamond, the man who keeps me in check; Kojolee, the Governor; The Stallion, Abriantie in Da house, a good friend I haven't read from for while; and the others. No freelancing business is successful without building strong relationship with clients and peers. If you don’t have a relationship with them, they won’t trust you, they won’t refer you and they certainly won’t hire you.
These are just the few, Joe Tex. Therefore when you see me on the forum, I'm not here to show off but I'm here on a mission. On this forum, I got my first experience in my profession through POW who introduced me to someone.
These are some of the things I appreciate and it is the reason I keep coming back here.

This CAF system regarding world cup qualification may yield unintended results for Africa. I hope the system prove me wrong. I am not worried about who we face, but their playing strategies coming into the game. Mark my word, we are going to see a lot of penalty kicks to decide the winner. If you are country facing Ghana, Ivory Coast and perhaps Egypt...why risk and lose, when you can defend and take your chances on penalty kicks. At least the odds are 50/50.

Here is the problem. The 10 groups of four might have bee a waste of time. For instance, in our group, no disrespect but did we really have to play Sudan and Lesotho. In the future, this is what should happen. Simply take the 16 teams from the last AFCON and add the four highest ranked teams that did not make AFCON. You take the 20 teams and put them in five groups of four. The winners of the group go. This playoff thing is a little risky because if an underdog gets lucky in one game they can just stall in the next game. This is quite possible in this set up. At the end of the day, Ghana has have the mentality to score two goals in each game. If they do that, I think they will be okay. The one goal project is a bit risky and could allow for an upset.

Start the eliminations early, then when it is left with the 10 we have now, enter in a league format with 5 to go. If you can't place 5th and qualify, then whose fault is it?
Imagine with these 10 countries left, if Ghana is not able to place at least 5th, then forget it. You see how the South Americans are progressing? Africans are still asleep!

Are you saying after the elimination series, each team should play a home-and-away league series to determine the top 5?
You're talking about 18 games to be played by each of the 10 teams on top of the preliminaries they have just survived?
No kidding?

I have been following your comments since morning. I can bet my last coin that you still don't understand what "seeding" is AND why they do it. Instead of you asking (which is not a disgrace), you keep on writing garbage for people to insulti you. Just say "I don't know, explain" and someone will tell you what it is.
Seeding is not only used in football. It is used to remove the rubbish from your system, like drinking alafia bitters does!
If Achimota has a debate with Prempeh College and each school is to send only two students each for the debate, Achimota will like to send the 2 best students they have, isn't it?
For "democracy" or whatever it is, you will like to give other students the chance, isn't it?
Now, if Kwadwo and Asamoah are the 2 best students at Achimota, they will not pair the two; they will pair Kwadwo vs. C on one part, and Asamoah with D on the other part. This will likely (I say, "likely") send the same two best students to represent Achimota at the debate! But if you sheepishly pair Kwadwo vs. Asamoah, then you are killing one. Then that will leave C vs. D - meaning, you will go with one bright student and one dummy.
Don't tell me "maybe this will turn out to be... or that", that is not a reality; it is imaginary!
Do you see how the seeding system is meant to work? Or you still don't get it?
If IC meets Senegal whiles Ghana meets Ethiopia, then there is the likelihood that Ghana and IC will go to the WC. But if you pair Ghana with IC, Senegal vs. Ethiopia, tell me what you are doing.

We cannot even meet them anyway. Cape Verde has been demoted for Tunisia and due to that, Burkina Faso will be included in the first 5 top CAF teams.
Case close.
Tunisia has been seeded, because it is higher than Cameroun and Burkina Faso.
Rasheed, I was right based on the rankings from what was there after the seedings were published before it was changed. When you look at the rankings, you will see that Burkina Faso has been droped by 3 and that is why Tunisi ...

You are DEAD wrong about Egypt. I did watch their matches and that team is extremely concentrated on making it to the World Cup and I believe they will. That coach Bob Bradley has got them into focus mode. Dont forget they ...

I'm not underestimating any team. I'm commenting it based on my witnessing their matches.
You know what, we are all here. Very soon everything will come to us. Still, I don't think Egypt will make it.
Furthermore Egypt is in turmoil with the military v Muslim Brotherhood saga, therefore this might affect their preparation and make them a soft meat for us to chew!
You are right Burkina play like Stoke City!
SLimzay I don't hate you or anything but I am concerned you are making too much noise. That is not a problem. The problem is there are no truths in your so-called predictions and statements. I suspect you just want to show ...

Fifa sanctions Cape Verde for using an ineligible player and so Tunisia qualify.

You are the only one that has thanked the team and coach.......the other's are just waiting for an opportunity to insult. Well done Yussif
I will not that AA yet until we qualify. There was no way we should not have made it as a top seed. If we manage Black stars professionally we can beat any team including Spain and Brazil.
In that case, why dont you wait till he wins the world cup first before you thank him or the players. So the Zambians and other teams that didnt make it should not thank their players for the effort they put in?
cape verde have been disqualified
Cape Verde got 6 free bonto points from Eq. Guinea after complaining to FIFA that Eq. Guinea had used ineligible players.........then they went and made the same stupid mistake!! I dont feel sorry for them. If you live by the ...

we can't wait. Also very sad for Cape Verde lsland better luck next time.
It is better for Ghana to meet Burkina Faso again.
They should have asked Atubuga to judge it. It would have been 3-0 for Cape Verde
Ghana vrs Cameroon
