“They Are Still Our Slaves’ – A White Man’s Perspective On Black People"

We can continue to reap profits from the Blacks without the effort of physical slavery. Look at the current methods of containment that they use on themselves: IGNORANCE, GREED, and SELFISHNESS.

Their IGNORANCE is the primary weapon of containment. A great man once said, “The best way to hide something from Black people is to put it in a book.

We now live in the Information Age. They have gained the opportunity to read any book on any subject through the efforts of their fight for freedom, yet they refuse to read. There are numerous books readily available at Borders, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon. com, not to mention their own Black Bookstores that provide solid blueprints to reach economic equality (which should have been their fight all along), but few read consistently, if at all.

GREED is another powerful weapon of containment. Blacks, since the abolition of slavery, have had large amounts of money at their disposal. Last year they spent 10 billion dollars during Christmas, out of their 450 billion dollars in total yearly income (2.22%).

Any of us can use them as our target market, for any business venture we care to dream up, no matter how outlandish, they will buy into it. Being primarily a consumer people, they function totally by greed. They continually want more, with little thought for saving or investing.

They would rather buy some new sneakers than invest in starting a business. Some even neglect their children to have the latest Tommy or FUBU, and they still think that having a Mercedes, and a big house gives them “Status” or that they have achieved their Dream. They are fools! The vast majority of their people are still in poverty because their greed holds them back from collectively making better communities.

With the help of BET, and the rest of their Black media that often broadcasts destructive images into their own homes, we will continue to see huge profits like those of Tommy and Nike. (Tommy Hilfiger has even jeered them, saying he doesn’t want their money, and look at how the fools spend more with him than ever before!). They’ll continue to show off to each other while we build solid communities with the profits from our businesses that we market to them.

SELFISHNESS, ingrained in their minds through slavery, is one of the major ways we can continue to contain them. One of their own, Dubois said that there was an innate division in their culture.”Talented Tenth” he called it. He was correct in his deduction that there are segments of their culture that has achieved some “form” of success. However, that segment missed the fullness of his work. They didn’t read that the “Talented Tenth” was then responsible to aid The Non-Talented Ninety Percent in achieving a better life.

Instead, that segment has created another class, Buppie class that looks down on their people or aids them in a condescending manner. They will never achieve what we have. Their selfishness does not allow them to be able to work together on any project or endeavor of substance.

When they do get together, their selfishness lets their egos get in the way of their goal. Their so-called help organizations seem to only want to promote their name without making any real change in their community.

They are content to sit in conferences and conventions in our hotels, and talk about what they will do, while they award plaques to the best speakers, not to the best doers. Is there no end to their selfishness? They steadfastly refuse to see that TOGETHER EACH ACHIEVES MORE (TEAM)

They do not understand that they are no better than each other because of what they own , as a matter of fact, most of those Buppies are but one or two pay checks away from poverty. All of which is under the control of our pens in our offices and our rooms.

Yes, we will continue to contain them as long as they refuse to read, continue to buy anything they want, and keep thinking they are “helping” their communities by paying dues to organizations which do little other than hold lavish conventions in our hotels. By the way, don’t worry about any of them reading this letter, remember, ‘THEY DON’T READ!!!!

Now that you have read this, I want to get an ongoing discussion on the topic. I want everyone who reads this to post your opinions of this letter. Do you feel that is true. If so, in what ways? How can us as the African race get away from these stereotypes or accusations that are raised within this text?

The evidence is provided in this letter. Did this letter take you aback as it did to us? Let us know what you think. Tell your friends to read this also. Remember that in order to have progress you must address the issues pertaining to your people so please keep this in mind and educate your friends and most importantly educate yourselves.

As if these were not enough, among the leadership, they find no winnable person to lead them to elections in 2016 than Nana Akufo Addo, the losing candidate in the two previous elections. The aging Akufo Addo does not appeal to the floating voters and this is a big worry to the rank and file of the party.

I have had all the admirations for Dr. Afari Djan for his supposed stubborn cat attitude. we need more of those else we are doomed. Indeed the NPP did not make any comment nor found anything wrong with the activities of the EC during their time in government. Today they are making all manner of noise from the rooftops. They did all they could when they were in opposition during Rawlings time to create the impression that the EC was at the beck and call of the NDC then. When they came to power, they did not see anything wrong with the activities of the EC? Indeed they went on in 2004 to declare the election results and that was when Jake, as per live GBC TV broadcast from the Castle declared the NPP as winners of the 2004 elections; a role that was the exclusive reserve of the Chairman of the EC. I think the NPP is terribly desperate and will want to go at anybody or anything with the view to petrify all and have things done according to their dictates. Please Prez Kuffour, I believe you have won for yourself some honors and you must keep them instead of being unduly partisan. Today everyone in the NPP is accusing the judges of not coming out with the correct verdict with a whole professor Ayittey doing all to discredit the SC and saying it is politically polarized. please NPP, give us some little break for Ghanaians are more intelligent than you think they are

Anyone in Ghana had the right to speak to the nation provided the insensible one's will adapt it to their intellect. Again, mostly we talk of the best Presidents in Ghana, President Koffour will be the second on the third in Ghana. We speak of truth and firm decision in politics, What former president Koffour said is the most for Ghanaian's reformation in political fairness.

There is nothing wrong with the EC calling for suggestions but the whole exercise could be led by another neutral body such as IEA. All sections of the Ghanaian community must be interested in EC's reforms, including the Executive, Legislature, Judiciary, Academia, the Peace Council, Civil Society Organisations, Traditional and Religious Leaders, IPAC, political parties, youth groups, etc.

Some hotheads in NPP, in their quest to diminish the reputation garnered by Dr. Afari-Gyan because he did not unlawfully help them to realize their aim of Winning the last election at all cost wants to oppose him on all angles. Who does not know that EC has routinely carried out "reforms" after every election since 1993? However there is a group in NPP who now maintain that since the Supreme Court by majority decision threw out their petition there is no need for any possible reform.

Then, out of the blue, Mr. Kufuor comes out with this criticism. As a mater of fact, Mr. Kufuor has said nothing different from what EC has stated. Mr. Kufuor id of the view that EC should not have invited suggestions but rather suggestions ought to have spontaneously sprang up from outside EC. Ebei Mr. Kufuor! What is the difference between EC being pro-active and prompting the needed changes needed?

We remember the way Mr. Kufuor supported NPP to chastise EC when it wanted to create additional constituencies just before the 2012 elections.

The former president will continue to be loved, admired, adulated, and what have you by the hard core NPP whatever he does. But he stands the risk of attracting the wrath of the remaining population who do not support, or are not sympathetic NPP to NPP.

Let us roll back what Kufuor did when he was in power. He saw the EC as a fertile ground to perpetuate his party/government. His thinking was to question the tenure of the Office of the Commissioner with the intention of bring on board his favourite but it did not work because of the conditions of tenure of EC etc. (He was able to change that of the Commissioner for District Assembly Common Fund because of the pressure put on him.) It was made known to him that he cannot touch him, there and then he developed that hatred for the Commissioner. During his period the only reform (negative) that took place was the issue of black and white ID cards in replace of the 2000 coloured ID cards and bloated Electoral Registers for 2004/2008. He is a lawyer and should know that under Art 46, the EC is the only body to regulate their work. Is he saying that another body should set and prepare what 'he' has in mind and forced on the EC? Those that he is asking to do that work for the EC should not listen to him because it will not work in our Ghana, period.

The bottom line to all reforms is that, votes will still have to be cast after biometric verification against a biometric register with vote counting done in public view.`
Once the votes are counted publicly, whoever wants to do their own compilation will be free to do so to ensure they are not cheated. It should the be possible to identify any cheating and protest it before the final announcement of results.
No amount of reform can eliminate the need to have vigilant party agents - in fact any serious party should have a mechanism to monitor the tallying of results from the polling centre to the EC's strong room.
Finally, no reform can make every candidate win. At the end of the day, there will only be one winner and the rest losers.
Trying to blame the EC for losing is a worthless venture.

Any time l listen or read comments on this past 2012 election petition and verdit the more confused it is to note that we as a nation have refused to have an Citizen identification data system from Birth through to Death. The Foundation of every well coordinated society is based on who are the Citizens of the nation-state.
How are we identified as a people in the nation-state we chose to create and belong to. What nationally recognised identification system do we have as a people since independence. If we have so many people now boasting as professors, lawyers administrators, politicians but we swept under the carpet the need to have a sound identification system from birth to Death, then make no mistake of future continued exploitation of errors to petition our courts long legal battle might still emerge whenever NPP loses election.

Lets do the right thing first to begin to have a nation wide identification system of all Citizens as permanent feature of Our nationhood to protect us from NPP arrongancy of-YOU AND I WERE NOT THERE- BAWUMIA a banker thinks pink sheets are like cheque books issued to bank customers, refusing to know that every organization has its own unique way of executing their business.

Lets all not forget that the NPP and Anthony Karbo, the Nana Akufo Addo’s loud mouth boy, are still coming to create problems at the polling stations in the NEXT coming elections if we refuse to find a solution to a permanent national data for identification of all citizens, as quaracteristic feature of our nation-hood, for our sovereignty and territorial intergrity and domestic peace and unity to be well secured devoid of these features of adhoc very confusing quaracter of Our population and Citizens identification during elections that gives room to some disappointed lawyers to be finding the slightest errors to gain grounds to polarize our liberty into prolong and very expensive legal battles.

AM some times ashamed even when learned folks calling themselves big names with big titles like professors, lecturers, politicians and lawyers but cannot understand the basic needs of the common man. For their educational levels high as it might look on paper but practically lacking the spirit of the very letter for which it was issued to them on their certificates absolutely flowed with the tendency to identify and prescribe solutions to our problems. Politics has become a curse to us instead of being a blessing for a sound democracy, peace and development for all.

Before the EC ask anyone for ideas on reforming the present electoral system, they need to set up a commission of enquary, to have a look at what went wrong during the last elections, and tell everyone what they know that went wrong and needs to be corrected. As it is now they are going about the whole thing the wrong way round. The SC said nothing went wrong by their judgement so why is the EC looking for ideas from the parties?

The EC is the body mandated by the Constitution to conduct elections. After every election it holds consultations with political parties and the public to review its processes so as to improve the conduct of subsequent elections. This year has been exceptional because of the electoral dispute.

What, I pray our former president, is wrong with the EC holding this consultation? We expect Kufuor to contribute positively to national development, not to spew forth garbage.
